Thanks for the reintroduction. I found you through your Temperature SAL last year. It's very reassuring to know that I'm at the same level of completion as you. And hearing your comments about the color changes helps too. We'll get them done sooner rather than later!!

I just found your video. I am going to look into joining your next SAL. Believe it or not I am 82 and have never read any classics. I never read as a child. Did not realize until I became an adult that I had ADD. I do not take medication. Just force myself to focus. I have two questions. Why do you split your thread when making your x’s? I have never seen that before and I have been stitching for 30+ years. Also I am strictly an Aida stitcher and was wondering if you are also.
Hello and welcome! I’m so happy you are thinking about joining my next SAL. Emma is an excellent one to start with. Splitting your thread is known as railroading. It helps to prevent twisting of the floss and helps your finished stitches look plump therefore creating better coverage. I plan to do a tutorial on railroading at some point but simply haven’t gotten around to it yet. It definitely slows down stitching but makes such a difference. I love stitching on Aida and will typically pick Aida for most projects. But sometimes certain designs just have me reaching for evenweave. In fact, I am stitching Emma on evenweave.
