My dear sister Sharon (Sherry) passed on September 20. I know she was born again and loved the Lord Jesus. The living God, the true God, protected her even in the struggle of being a loving mother filled with the poison of diabetes. I miss my sister, Sharon.
Wow, what a beautiful song. I used to hate my name Sharon. But mum recently told me why I was called Sharon. My nan chose the name. My other nan agreed, because of THE ROSE OF SHARON IN THE BIBLE. I grew up with the horrible Sharon and Tracy jokes. I love my name so much now. And thank you for this beautiful song. God is GOOD!
I was almost named Shannon after the River Shannon in Ireland. I love the name Sharon - it always makes me think of roses. I have no idea who Sharon and Tracy are! Isn't it strange that what one generation would tease someone for Isn't even a thought for other generations? My generation in general didn't tease people over their names, but in other generations, names are used in the most mental gymnastics to try to find a way to make fun of people. I'm sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you found out why you have such a beautiful name and can embrace it! It's a perfect professional name or a good name for a celebrity or CEO. It's beautiful yet solid. Excellent choice! It sure beats Bambi or Moon Unit or Apple or any of these wild names kids get saddled with these days. Blanket, lol.
Love this song. Our savior sacrificed and I will never look at the petals dieing on the Rose of Sharon the same way ever again. When I think of how the petals hitting the ground resemble Christ dieing for us and the reseeding that comes from the dieing petals, I am reminded of our souls taking on a new life with God.
