I messed my voice up this way and when I listened to your voice and comments about it I thought I’d suggest you get it checked out. There are a few things it could be that can be resolved with vocal rest, just recommended you see a doctor based off similar symptoms. I only have a masters unfortunately lol. I was in choir in high school and my teacher always said never strain your voice too much because of vocal polyps. Polyps (from what I remember) form on your vocal chords and prevent them from coming together nicely and making the sound you want. It's more important for a singer obviously but as another profession which uses their voice a bunch you *COULD* be at risk. I don't have a PHD, but the guy could be correct. Though when you develop one its painful and you can't talk for a while. So yeah if your voice is a little sore you could push through it but going on vocal rest could help you in the long run. Then again I'm just a Pepega in youtube comments so

Real talk, this has been on my mind for quite some time. I'm no expert in any way but every voice actor/singer/person who uses his voice extensively as a tool for work says the same thing: "The voice is a LIMITED instrument." And the more you strain it, the quicker you wear it out. Going at it like that, at some point in time, it's bound to give. So as a mere suggestion, do at the very least check the state of your vocal folds. (if you haven't already)
There are also plenty of voice teachers who can assess how good/bad what you're doing with your voice is and give you some advice on how to preserve your voice better.
I mean, at worst: You find out there is nothing wrong with how you treat your voice and you're just built different. (bragging rights backed by science)
At best: You save your voice a lot of problems in the future and avoid medical bills. (so it basically pays for itself)
Yeah. I was an actor for years and knew better but it started when I chose to perform the role of Macbeth in a way that I thought was more authentic since he was a warrior ( this is Sparta level screaming etc). After the run of the show my voice was never the same. Over time I refused to use my training here and there and now I have permanent damage. I taught theatre, voice, phonetics and dialects, acting and more to students for years and don’t want any of them to make my mistake. I have figured out how to get the most out of my voice even with the change but it’s no where near as strong as it used to be. Luckily I stopped before it became permanently raspy. Anyway, I commented above how I should have said he might be getting polyps rather than stating it definitely which was a mistake on my part. Don’t want anyone to have to deal with a hurt voice.

After extensive research on Tyler Steinkamp's vocal disturbances, I can conclude that he indeed does have vocal polyps. Although this is a serious issue and can cause permanent damage to Tyler's vocal cords, I think he shouldn't have to take any necessary precautions because he is indeed built different.
