I bought this album originally in the 70s and that version on the LP (The regular released version) fades before that final ending of the last minute or two. It's really funny most people do not know that Lynyrd Skynyrd was the first Southern Rock band that used three lead quality guitarist 1. Gary Rossington, 2. Gary Rossington is that slid lead at the beginning and Allen Collins was the lead soloist with Steve Gaines doing the middle lead to the solo at the end.
