She is the Goddess of Music and her voice is heavenly Ohh how I wish the audio quality and the subtitles were a little better. Some interesting facts about her 1. She was born in 1929 and sang her first playback song at an age of 13 for a Marathi film. 2. She has sung more than 50,000 song in 14 different languages. 3. Filmfareawards for Best Female Playback Singer was introduced because of her

This song was inspired from the “Battle of Rezang La” in 1962 when 120 Indian soldiers were surrounded by 5000+ Chinese soldiers and only 4 of those 120 ran and survived to tell the story. Rest of them died fighting but killed around 1000 Chinese soldiers until all their ammunition was over. India didn’t have proper roads in those terrains at the time, so reinforcements couldn’t be sent in time. Later, even the Chinese Army praised the Indian Army for their valour in this battle. Also, India later recaptured the area and only a few weeks ago, a memorial has been established at that place. The only soldier alive from that battle today was on wheel chair when Rajnath Singh, India’s cabinet Minister moved his wheelchair taking him to and from the memorial to pay respect, this video went viral, you can also react to it, it’s a short video. The scale of this battle was so high and the terrain is so dangerous that all the remnants have not yet been recovered. Even today, the remnants of fallen soldiers are found in Rezang La. It is this story which made all of the people stand to pay respect, just as we stand for The National Anthem. Jai Hind!🇮🇳
5 years later in 1967, China again went on war with India at Nathu La pass. That war lasted for 15 or 20 days. And India won that. And in just 5 years India managed to take it military strength to a new high.

The Indian solidier's ran out of food & bullets were advised to pull back but the Commander said he was going to defend his Motherland to the very end even if he was alone and advised all those who want to pull back to do so as their lives were in grave danger but all 300 Indian brave soldiers decided to stay back with their Commander & all lost their lives in that 1963 War!!!
Not all lost only 2 soliders were left alive and One of them was from Bihar, his wife was living in the same building in just one floor below us on rent in which I also with my family were used to live, I remember at that time I was just a small kid, his husband came very rarely as he was always on his duty in J&K bt when ever he came for few days, he used to play with me coz I was just a very lil kid and I used to call him Milliatry Uncle and his wife as Milliatry Aunty, I still remember how much they used to luv me and my small brother despite we r nt their own children, specially I was favourite of my Milliatry uncle, he always called me as daring daughter, Now it's been 12 years, I don't seen him and I don't know where they shifted or live bt one thing for sure, I never gonna forget those days🥺🥺😭

I'm 39 and have lost 2 uncles in the 1962 and 1971 wars (although of course I wasn't even born then). Just can't control my emotions when this song goes on. Long live Indian Army! Jai Hind.
This song commemorates the soldiers we lost in 1962. It was this historic moment which brought all the citizens together and still brings all of us to tears.
Ayush Gupta it is based on 1962 Indo-China War only! There are many references of it in the song itself. "Ghayal hua Himalaya" etc, it was exclusively composed in the memory of that war martyrs.
She's India's greatest ever singer. For 6 decades she's given us some 50-60 thousand songs. Such soulful singing. She's known as Nightingale of India. A national treasure. Kinda like Aretha Franklin but way more. The song is a pure love ballad to the fallen of Indo-China 1962 war. The beauty of sacrifice is the one which makes us stand, and brings tears to eyes. In respect to all those who have given ultimate sacrifice.
Every Indian will weep hearing this song--wherever they are. Everytime I hear this song, I salute our brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the foolishness of our PM Nehru and stupid Defence Minister Krishna Menon---who made India lose a big chunk of our territory when unprepared for the war, yet went to war.
You heard a legendary martyrs song from an icon of Indian music. The mixed feeling is filled with sorrowful reverence and veneration for the great fallen and unbounded admiration for the poise and finesse of the queen of melody. Rick, you have a sharp vision. You could notice in quick seconds her hand waving to lift the tempo. She could be seen doing that in live shows. As a result of that all songs sung by her in all live performances were exact replication of her original recorded versions. Thanks for sharing this video. I have been listening this since my childhood as I was not even three years when this song was performed live for the first time ever, yet it is never enough for me.
This song was created when India fought against China. When we didn't have weapons to fight. Our braveheart fought like anything and saved the country. Also song was written by Pradeep. And sung by lata mangeshkar
Lost her yesterday.. I am so happy tht u guys saw n appreciated her when she was alive..career of more than 7 decades.n u r right she was d only one whose voice never changed..13 year old girl or 80 year old her voice remained same..which is amazing...🙏🙏..I came here specially today to comment on dis old reaction video..Thank you so much..God bless u all..🙏🙏

It was composed after Indo-China war in 1962 as a tribute to fallen soldiers
Whenever I listen this song. I have tears in my eyes.
