This same director made the movie THE IMPOSSIBLE, based on the 2004 Indonesian tsunami tragedy, a movie with Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts and Tom Holland, also based on real events.
It is a video with Carlitos - Paez Rodrigues - one of the survivor. The name of the video is "My Plane Crashed And I Survived 72 Days In The Andes | Minutes With"
Hello Emma. some survivors made "cameos" in the film. In the airport scene, the one who opens the door for Nando and his family is the real Nando Parrado. The one who reads the list of survivors is the real Carlos Paez, who plays his father, the plastic artist Carlos Paez Bilaró. In the scene where Roberto Canessa enters the hospital and a doctor in a white coat accompanies him behind him, it is the real Roberto Canessa, current pediatric cardiologist. Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina
Hi! Watch the BBC documentary "Stranded: The survivors of the crash in the andes". It is totally narrated by the survivors in a trip they made back to the site of the crash this time with their teenage sons and daughters. You will see the real fantastic men from this tragic event.
Absolutely Harrowing, a tough watch of a grim battle for survival in a harsh and unforgiving Landscape, the Plane crash was a Visceral tough watch; THANK YOU EMMA FOR SUCH A KIND/TOUCHING AND COMPASSIONATE REACTION, YOU WERE OBVIOUSLY DEEPLY MOVED;
Interestingly if it wasn't for the cold Nando would have died right after the crash, the black spots around his eyes are an indicator of a head injury, it was the cold that slowed the blood loss long enough for his body to recover.
I saw this on Netflix when it came out. It was good. The other movie, Alive, which just came out last week in Australia on Netflix, is also good. But I think I prefer this one.😊
Thanks for the reaction. It's a great movie. Very well done and acted. The 1993 version is great as well with Ethan Hawke in the lead, never thought there will be another movie until this one just popped up. One of the books (the one by Piers Paul Read) is a good read as well. Always read it with my students in the last year before graduation (age 16). Even teenagers that don't read much are interested in this one. Very thrilling and gripping book.
In Netflix there´s a Film called "ALIVE" (from the 90s) with Ethan Hawke as Nando Parrado, and a small appearance by John Malkovich as the adult Carlitos. perhaps you would like to see it.
Horrible incident. We can only pray for them. And pray that we don't end up in such a situation. Could not see my own reaction, but it was probably similar to yours.
I highly recommend watching this movie all the way through. I also recommend reading or listening to the book Society of the Snow as well as Miracle in the Andes. Both of those stories helped me appreciate all the details of this so much more.
Emma this is a tragic story. The movie Alive in the 90s is just as good, maybe better but that's a matter of opinion. You're so beautiful. Hello from Alberta!
There is no way you just said Alive was better than this one. It was horribly disrespectful. They called them soccer players from South America. They played up the discord between them. The actors may have done a good job with what they had, but the script itself was disrespectful.
@DianaWoods-n7r I said maybe, and that's my opinion not yours. I'm not a script writer and was not involved with the making of both films that's why it's a matter of opinion, we all have one I'm not here trying to disrespect the situation it's just my personal opinion.
46:58 the man who reads the names is the real Carlitos Miguel Páez playing his father

I am from Uruguay, for me they are our heroes! Thanks for your reaction!
You’re very welcome
The young men were aged between 18 and 26. Javier was 36 and his wife Liliana was 34.
Thank you for watching the movie with its original language
Even pilots make mistakes. They misjudged where they were when they crossed the highest peaks.

The survivors and the families of the victims don’t like Alive
