This will forever be my favorite comment on Vega Core, good sir! Surprised I'm only just now telling you after the new Eternal trailer sent me on a binge of violent gospel.
Not yet. I still need to take lessons.

The further you get in the game, the more distorted the music gets.
First level: You shoot down 3 demons at a time with your shotgun
Final levels: You fight every special demon at once with your entire arsenal.
The Burned Man it reflects the state of your mind and your sanity as the arenas get harder and crazier.
Yes I too have watched the Raycevick's video.
@@Skyhawk1998 It also reflects in a way about Doomslayer's unmatchable bloodlust for the demons.
playing Argent D'anur in Ultra nightmare is horrible, I literally resorted to punching imps because I had run out of all ammunition, used my BFG and Chainsaw to barely avoid dying.

When you start Doom: Badass riffs.
When you end doom: Literally nothing but abstract distorted noise in compound time. Fuckin YASSSS
well, all OSTs in every game or movie are very contextual.
+angeltensey meaning this guy is good enough to get crechentos more offten than not
The soundtrack supposed to escalate as the game goes on. Even at different moments, depending on the situation, the riffs to certain songs just play in a different order. It's all meant to fit the atmosphere and progression.
i love the raw power in this song. how its like an AI yelling and screaming in anger.
McSuto BigDongle I fucking love it, it sounds so damn angry.
I was thinking more like a paper jam on a printer but okay.

Sounds like a flesh and metal sounds :)

I remember playing Doom for the first time and having to pause it because I was not expecting that drop at 1:36.
Doom has one of the best soundtracks hands down. First game to have made me do such a thing.
13 beat meter in the beginning with "heartbeat" rhythm pattern :D
1,2,3,
1,2,3,
1,2,3,
1,2,3,4
The symbolism is strong in this music :D
:)
Could someone please explain this to me? I am hungry for knowledge and Google wont yield any results.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metre_(music)
At 0:15, you can hear the bass and kickdrum sounding off like it's a heartbeat:
thump-thump-rest,
thump-thump-rest,
thump-thump-rest,
thump-thump-rest-rest.
Each thump and rest is one beat inside a measure. If you count all beats in the measure together, it makes a number 13.
And that's what "13 beat meter with heartbeat pattern" means.
Thank you.
I'm not an audiophile but it sounds like a 1,2 beat to me? What am I missing? :)
Kind of sounds like someone has an automatic fire mod for the BFG 9000....
Sv_fastweapons 1 if you played original doom
So... the BFG 10K from QUAKE
now that would be a fun toy

Step one: get chaingun
Step two: get infinite ammunition
Step three: replace bullets with bfg shots
Step four:profit
For some reason I believe this track is part of a new genre, called Vega Core.
Boris Almishev rule #1 of music.
If it has "core" in the name, it is automatically bad.
This song is the one and only exception.

Idk what you're talking about. Blasted this on full volume, and my soundbar and subwoofer were fine. XD I love this song. The sound is just so raw. And I love raw sounds.
Nah. I think that honor belongs to Mastermind.
imagine AMD use this soundtrack for their Vega gpu launch...
Selipar Jepun that would be Fate-levels perfect
two months later, AMD Vega launch is completely horrendous. It wasn't meant to be
Only if they make the AMD GPUs blow up the Nvidia GPUs while making cool destruction sounds.
There's no market for fast huge GPUs. Mid end fast is where the market is
@@josiahcachola8214 Vega was great, beats out a GTX 1080 with undervolting. Only reasons it got flak from reviewers were the inflated price due to mining and the odd optimization(it's a card for tinkerers). I had a Vega 64, long story short I broke it while water-cooling it and changed to a 1080 Ti. I honestly miss the Vega, I've been so tempted to buy another Vega 64 for my secondary Node 202 rig.
And think about it: Vega 64 is a bulky-ass card with crazy cooling. There's literally a Doom level dedicated to destroying the insanely advanced cooling system Vega used. So cool.

“...Why are you here?...”
(Cut by chainsaw.)
Probably one of the best game soundtracks ever ! Totally nailed the Doom feeling in it !
I mean BFG is amazing, but god damn this is underrated
this is the music i listen to when i want to press my emotions into the deepest darkest recess of my mind
Except the emotion of badass
Had a conflict with a co-worker today ... this indeed helps
the pure, raw energy of this will make all negative emotions disintegrate
This is the most insane thing I've heard, no shot I'm gonna experience the same thing again
It sacrificed itself to help Doomguy.
I would've done that too
LazarheaD Doomguy did make a backup and he took the chip containing him, so he could very well be in the sequel
my favorite thing is that wasn't even mandatory to Hayden's plan and such, Doomguy got the backup just because. What a friggin nice guy.
Doomslayer doesn't wants for those who are innocent to suffer because of other's actions, including his own.
+Bite the Dust!
Doomguy doesn't give a shit about Hayden's plans. That's why he destroyed the energy filters. Doomguy only worked with Hayden because he didn't have much a choice since he needed a way to Hell and back, and their goals of exterminating the demons aligned at the time.
Doomguy probably saved Vega because he realized Vega wasn't blindly loyal to Hayden and actually had humanity's best interest at heart, as opposed to Hayden who only wanted the Argent energy at any cost.
Me:
My subwoofer: *end my suffering*
I like how when you encounter first demon will be like "Damn, how they move so fast?"
Then after in late game, you will realised, they aren't moving, they are running.
*RUNNING FROM YOU. THE SLAYER.*
For some reason this always felt like a heart beat. I felt the bass in my chest.
Damn. That's a lot of bass. It's sick, but my tv can't take it.
Just listen to that really silent noise on 7:30 before the music starts again. Holy Vega that's frickin' amazing
How is this not the most popular song by Mick in Spotify? Absolute fire!
BFG Division and Rip & Tear exist.
This is what you get when Godzilla eating a nuke to boost his strength and then emitting powerful radioactive blasts to burn King Gidorah to death was converted into music
So incredibly calming music while playing stardew valley
1:08 Hell Keep!!!
Theory: DoomSlayer hears all of the music from his battles in his head, giving him one Hell of a headache (heh) hence why he is always angry.
If he can hear the music I think it would make him stronger
In DOOM Eternal he has a file on his computer called *Rip and tear mix.* It's a fun little easter egg that insinuates the games OST is what Doomguy listens to while slaying demons.
he has constant tinnitus from all of the gunfire that he has to do which is why he is pissed with the demons because he has to shoot them
They should have put more emphasis on Gordon's music in this game. Most of these brilliant soundtracks are so hard to hear during gameplay, and the best parts are not even used.
then change up the volume settings
randomguy6679 that's not the issue, i'm saying the best parts of the soundtrack aren't used throughout the game.
He may have written them after to tie the parts of each song together for an album release.
In game soundtracks are usually different to releases like this. Game soundtracks are usually built around the game, where as final releases like this, are mixed for the tracks themselves.
Official game OST's are more or less "directors cuts"
is it bad that i bought the entire game to listen to this sick soundtrack?
NO.
I did
You deserve at least hundred times more followers!
Sheep Ewe he deserves a cult :D
Bruh, listening this for some reason cured my headache ._.XD

*THIS IS A FUCKING MOSHPIT SONG!! RAHHHHHH*
_starts running in circles like a lunatic_
Playing through DOOM again before ETERNAL drops. Goddamn this music gets me pumped every time!
Going back through the game after finding Rich Get Richer and Armored Offensive really changes the tone of the final levels. It goes from the Doom Slayer as the underdog scraping by by the skin of his teeth fighting some of the most powerful demons in all of Hell, to “I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me” the video game.
this is one of the most unhinged tracks in the OST, i'm pretty sure mick just wanted to make my speakers implode lol
It drops so hard that even Satan can't handle with it.
Hayden: you are now entering the Vega core, in order to keep Vega running his core must exhaust additional energy through any available outlet, we choose to conduct it out through the speakers, this is Vega’s energy given sound.
You know Mick's a genius when he can make angry telephones sound that great.
This thing is so badass, its banned in hell.

My favourite mission, my favourite soundtrack from the whole game... Mister Mick Gordon is not a composer, he is a music genre... i really hope there will be more Doom after the eternal
This sounds so extreme in every aspect of it. I didn't expect it to be so fascinating.
am I the only one who is sad when I reach a checkpoint in Doom and this awesome music stops? :(
You have so much fucking Argent Energy in your blood that you can only hear the energy around you. That's what this song is. Hellish energy. And it's fucking awesome.

Hey Mick, have you ever thought of doing a sort of live session on making music like this? or prerecorded, would love to see you do your thing for an hour or so :)
He did for the briefest amount of time. A couple months after you posted that comment. He said that the prey theme was unfinished, and he finished it to his liking on stream. I wish i was able to record the 4 streams. :/
I think if he did a live show like a concert it'd sell out in an hour
I like how the crosshairs dance with the bass drops
1:09 to 1:36 is some of the best music in the franchise. It's so raw and visceral. The rest of the song is cool too, but that's definitely the highlight.
