  • Join Eric Tscherne and Matt Allen as they walk you through what it takes to become a professional cornhole player. There are 3 avenues it can happen in the ACL but the challenge doesn't stop there. Playing as a pro requires a ton of commitment, both in time and money, and often the prize money isn't enough to cover the costs. Eric and Matt show you how to navigate the job of being a pro player if you are good enough to qualify.

Don't worry you only have to wear those jerseys when you make the ESPN or CBS broadcast, and there is absolutely no way you will ever pull that off.

@@alecweinstein funny, someone probably said that same thing to these guys and most of the other pros. I’ve had people say the same thing towards me in some of my other hobbies and you know what. I’ve won championships. Including in SCCA Autocross in CAM-C class. So please continue with your underestimating and ignorance. Fact is hard work and time practicing the right techniques is all it takes. But I assume you have one of these Baked bean jerseys and what I said hurt your feelings? 🤣

@@alecweinstein started playing three weeks ago. Current Scorholio PPR for GhostHolio is 8.35 and I do practice Atleast an hour every day. My last game played my PPR was 9.33. Most recent games my off board % is around 3% and when I started it was 17%. So I’ve brought it down to a 7% overall.
      Overall stats are
      2,715 throws 8.35 PPR
      7% (4in) -22
      58% (In) - 752
      35% (On) - 459
      7% (Off) - 89
Just recently started with the Scorholio app. So the full three weeks of play isn’t on there obviously

@@gravityracergt Good stuff. If you are throwing over 8s you are an advanced division player. As you probably know when these guys are winning there are throwing over 10s. Hopefully you are going to some regional ACL events and giving it a shot. What's great about cornhole it the sport is so new and small you will end up playing against your local pros in the advanced division at your local tournaments.

I know I can be pro. I’m tired of backyard playing. I’m going to start using the app and tracking my stats. I’m going to join some tournaments. I don’t okay often just for fun at parties. I can airmail really well on demand even over bags and I can get 4 baggers often. I want to play on a bigger level. Im hungry and I want it

@@CornholeNetwork I have been playing with Rec league dual sided bags from dicks sporting goods. What are good bags you may recommend? I have been aiming towards swag bags kaboom or ruby. Any help is appreciated !

    • @CornholeNetwork

@@dondechello It really depends what kind of game you play. Are you a racer or a blocker? Do you throw a roll bag or just slide shots and airmails? Also you are going to want a bag for fast conditions and a bag for slower conditions. I would suggest you get ACL stamped bags, they are a bit more expensive but allow you to play in ACL events. I think a great bang for the buck bag is the Fire Vengeance. It is a slower bag that has a good balance of a controllable slow side and a good fast side with a good price. Jamie Graham plays that bag often when conditions are quick and his results speak for themselves. I like the Reynolds Typhoon as well as good bang for the buck bag and it won a championship this year. For a faster bag the Lucky Pro Sniper has been very popular on tour when conditions are slow. Honestly there are so many great bags these days- we throw Ultra bags which are amazing but expensive. You can check our top 10 bag vids for ideas, but you basically need one good slower bag and one good fast bag.

@@CornholeNetwork thank you for your input and help! I’d be lying if I said I don’t try to get every single bag in the hole. However, I am good at dragging the bags down when they are my blockers or I can airmail really well and even drag blockers down with them as well. Sometimes people will freak out that it curves going up the board into the hole. I haven’t been using the Scoreholio app but recently downloaded it and will try to join local tournaments. I can get 4 baggers I just don’t know the percentage and wouldn’t want to say it’s higher than it actually is. I only play for fun during parties but found I truly enjoy playing so much and have a new grown passion with this sport where I want to take it more seriously, actually practice and join some tournaments. Thank you for your professional input I really appreciate it!

A good place to start is local Facebook groups. Search for cornhole groups in your area and you should find some games. Once you attend a game and talk with players there you will probably be able to find a game almost every night of the week.

A guy at our local league is a pro and their frustrations are with the 18-20 year old pro players who still live at home with their parents and don’t have a job.
This is their job and it makes it harder for older players who have jobs and a family to compete.

    • @Tig3rj
      @Tig3rj Рік тому

I doubt these 18 to 20 year olds are flying and driving across the state on their own. I would bet a family member is coming along and more or less taking care of their expenses.. It's no different than family members pay for their kids gymnastics, traveling baseball team, volleyball and so on...Those who are real good seem to have rich parents. My friend told me he spend over 10k for his daughter for diving cause she was that good going out of state for big tournaments..
No one should be doing Cornhole as a Job unless they are well establish with it such as the big names you see on Prime Time all the time...or you already have a nice income savings and or a partner who loves it also and likes to travel all over the place. Most of the top player don't make more than $60k a year. It is said that this year Mark Richards may of been the first to break 100k.
