Recently, a Brushless SSG was built for @grandmasterg0794. However, after some testing and tuning, the Lancer Tactical Gen 3 gearbox shell started to crack where it was radius on the front. Unfortunately, it means that @grandmasterg0794 will have to buy a new gearbox shell.

For sure. When you clean your inner barrel, which should be done fairly often, go ahead and check for cracks and feel free to send me pictures if you are unsure whether or not there is a crack or not.

How did the Lancer “fail” you exactly? Everything internal has been replaced. Looks more like a PEBKAC issue.
So due to the upgrades the stock Lancer Tactical shell began to crack at the front. Because of this we had to replace it an with a Retro Arms Gearbox shell which is fairly costly

Hi.are you using a metal/alum piston head?
No generally i opt for a poly piston head however sometimes i will go with an aluminum depending on the build
@@6mmCustoms most likely the cause of crack is the combination of metal piston head and cylinder head.i did several LT gen3 here in the philippines ranging from 450-600fps .20bb,no reported gearbox failures yet.always installed POM pistonhead and metal cylinder head or vice versa.
@@RowellBaligad-eo4yh my apologies. The client had installed his own compression using a aluminum piston head an cylinder head. That's why it cracked

Honestly the shells of my lancer gearboxes have been fine. They have lots of upgrades and i haven't noticed a crack but then again i haven't looked for one. Anyway no trouble from the shells yet.
