I didn't know there was an MMC Defensor in plans... I'm onboard! Predaking is one of my favorite combiners (if not the most), but I already have MMC's Feral Rex. The MMC Defensor is planned but have not given any guidance as to when the first figure will be released. I know it does get old replacing characters over and over for sure! Thanks
I’m 4 ‘bots in on the GT Defensor and can’t wait to complete him. I have the UT Bruticus, so seeing as they are kind of rivals, they should hopefully scale together quite well. I have no problem with my combiners being different sizes...the basic Autobot/Decepticons were all various sizes, so why not these? It’s the asthetics that are ‘masterpiece’ quality to me , not necessarily the scale. I also have ‘old green’ TW Devastator on pre-order, and XTB Menasor and FT Superion on the go. I think all these will look awesome together!
Love talkn masterpiece combiners! It's weird that I never hear anyone really talk about the Jinbao oversized Devastator. That Devastator with the upgrade kit is by far my favorite Devastator. You definitely need the upgrade kit to get the proper height. All the others look to skinny for me. I've got him right next to DX9 Menasor and a Zeta Bruticus and he scales really well.
"computer commander" I just laughed so hard that the coffee I was drinking came out my nose. Ideally, I like combiners that when decombined the bots fit on my mp shelf. But then again I don't like spending an entire paycheck (or at least a huge chunk of a week's pay) on one. I'm good with the jinbao Bruticus, but do wish Zeta weren't so costly. That said I keep eyeing that DX9 Motormaster......
I just want the best reprentizations of all the G1/movie transformers. Devastator is my favorite combined but I do love them all. I have Blot, Rippersnapper, & Cutthroaght, just waiting for Sinnertwin and Gunn Garr to come out. Great video as usual.
Only a few months into collecting and have done my bollox already! About £2000!. I have original g1 toys but the masterpeices can get so expensive, it forces me to look at k.o!. They are such good knock off' though with THF, Infinite, Jinbao.. Im comfortable with the choice, and def saved a fortune! My favourite though is probably fanshobby power baser, such an awesome shelf presence!
The one thing all the competition has over Zeta's versions, is that Aesthetically they are SUPERIOR. Just not size & that is where they lose out and where they lose buyers. Their bot and alt modes are all amazing, some better than others, but almost all are better than Zeta's. You got the coin, by Zeta's for SIZE and one of the others for their bot/alt modes. You WIN twice!!! Cang's PredaKing is gonna loo CRAZY. Hoping Abominus/Terrorcons get a SIZE redo, Unique did a GREAT job on them. Raiden looks pretty damn good too. There is always Monstructor as well. Defensor/Protectobots looks excellent, just a shame that it will most likely come up short. SIZE is EVERYTHING in MP scale.
I would love to collect those big ones. I also love seeing my 8-year old son assembling my Bruticus knock-off...and then pray that he won't break the joints.
Hey Mike..is the Unicron that we crowdfunded being assembled in China or Japan?..oh yeah, and I have the Maketoys Quantron..it makes a pretty good Computron, but heck everything gets outdated eventually. Thanks for the video..enjoyed it!
I'm solidly in the 18" chug scale gestalt camp with JJ Superion and Jinbao Devastator to go with Siege Omega Supreme and Skyfire. Next on my hit list in UT Ragnaros but I don't know what I'm going to do about Menasor. XTB Monolith might be my best shot if he ends up being the shortest of the current crop. I have no nostalgic connection to Defensor or any of the s3/4 combiners so they are off my radar.
I'm into 18" scale, currently have Jinbao KO Gravity Builder, POTP Predaking, JJ Jet commander and Jinbao KO Bruticus. Do you have any recommendation to add in my small collection? I preordered KO yes model guardia but disappointed to know that it is short
Fortunately, money isn't much of an issue for me with these gestalts. I'm on board for the largest versions of these figures possible, so Zeta wins by default (with the possible inclusion of Fanstoys) It's truly a really good time to be a collector!

I have yet to complete any combiners, i have 5 Toyworld Constructicons, 1 Zeta Aerialbot, 1 Unique Toys Combaticon, 1 Warbotron Combaticon, and 2 Combiner Wars Combaticons. Roadking will probably be my next purchase along with a few variations of TE-01, i just bought TE-01S, an absolutely gorgeous figure.
It is satisfying for me when I was able to complete and combine a combiner. It is also good to see if you like the look and feel of a companies product before you drop $300+ on a set. I so worry about breakage when assembling the XTB Menasor. Thanks
Tydirium hanger that's mostly why i have yet to complete one: look and feel. I like the majority of what i own individually but hate the overall look when displayed together. Both official and 3rd party are all over the place aesthetically, nothing looks cohesive. Not just combiners but everything. Unpainted plastic, gloss paint, metallic paint, toon, toy, IDW, Studio Ox, and others. I know this don't bother some but i don't really care much for it. To me its kinda like watching a movie with bad CGI, it just looks off.
I think 18 inches is a good size for a combiner. That towers over most regular figures, bit is smaller than city bots which should be the largest. IMHO
The only MP scaled Combiner I really want is the Jinbao "Builder.D" oversized KO of Generation Toy "Gravity Builder". Zeta is excellent and it’s a shame they put all their chicken in one basket and yes their combiners are where it’s at, parts forming or not. Fanstoys will be heavy so hopefully the joints and ratchets they use can sustain the weight. The dx9 menasor is awesome. We already went thru that. The legs don’t bother me on because it’s toon accurate and looks better in person as previously stated. Combiners are my favorite sub line of the transformers. They need to do a toon accurate defensor. Couple ok ones out there nothing special. Computron abominus defensor and raiden can all get an overhaul and start from scratch. Liokaiser and seacons tfc does a decent job and I like them both but scale wise they are too small imo. Hopefully zeta gets some funds and start up their combiner line. They do a great job. Xtransbot looks like I will use them as individual bots and I am ok with that cuz they are toon accurate
I am right there with you for a good defensor! Yes Zeta is good at making combiners and for a great price so they need to get back in the game full force. Thanks
I'm gonna be the one to go out on a limb and say it; War for Cybertron needs combiners like Menasor, Superion, Bruticus, & Computron. I know, they had figures from the Combiner Wars line but they sucked, let's all be honest. Not thinking about FansToys combiners. Would like to see Zeta Toys get it together because their combiners are king!!! Was really looking forward to that Raiden. I need to get my hands on a Combiner Wars Devastator. The MMC combiner offerings only look good as individual robots, too small next to Zeta. Might work for War for Cybertron though. Rising Force needs to come with a cheaper price point or show some promo pics of something else they're working on.
Hasbro making new combiners is a double edged sword. They could use new engineering and make a more G1 ish design but then all the older stuff will be far less desirable. Wait Hasbro does not care so I bet they might make them. Thanks
What will everyone do with their 15 different colors of Toyworld? LOL I bet Takara could do a great job on a Devy if they wanted but then there is the build issue. Thanks
My Zeta Superion is weak in the knee bots. Mine took a head over heals tumble off its table from the knees giving out and bust up pretty good. Overall I'm not that impressed with my copy.
Sorry to hear that about your Superion. I do admit I put him on a shelf and seldom ever mess with him so it may be a case of loosening up over time and use. Thanks for sharing
I chose the Fanstoys versions. Only own the Toyworld Devy and think the FT figs will scale with him. Sold the XTB Stunticons. They just didn't do it for me. Hopefully the FT combiners will be a win and they will continue with Defensor and Bruticus. After that Computron and Abominus and finally the best Predaking ever seen. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@@tydiriumhanger1320 yeah stability may be a problem. But we'll see. Yeah that questions me as well. Fanstoys will do them mark my words. Have a good weekend
Mmc is the proper size for a masterpiece. For me. I don’t think they should be over 20” to stay in scale. I’m in on xtransbots and fanstoys. But only for the bots. Parts forming is not a true transformer to me so the companies that do it aren’t even a option for a combiner. They just aren’t that good in my opinion.
MMC engineering is impressive but I have come to grips with accepting partsforming for these combiners. If displayed right any of these scales of combiners can work. Thanks
Too many choices..... everyone seems to have an idea how big combiners should be . G1 combiner were only as big as the story there were in. Everyone so caught up in scale.... while some combiners should be lop sided because of their parts....Speaking to you Bruticus and Defensor LOL. I pick what speaks to me and what the wallet can afford. TLK showed us not all combiners have to be 50 FT tall. Infericus wasn't as big. But who knows? You always have great thought provoking questions and topics. The next question is bigger mean more room and more $$$$.
Scale will always be a debate with this hobby along with the parts forming aspect. Yes space becomes an issue really fast when you get into these bigger bots for sure! Thanks
Ha!!! 55lbs Roadking...imo the problem is the Scale is all over the place. IMO The only companies that are doing it right is Fanstoys and Dx9. The Xtransbots Gravestone when compared to the rest of the Team seems silly. They're like almost in 2 separate scales. There Motormaster is Huge and the rest of the team are like upto his waist. The MMC ocular max Combaticons are all beautiful and definitely are worth picking up just for there Bot modes. Forget about there combine mode, is just too small. Personally I think his proportions are a bit off! Too. The legs seem to be way too separated at the hips. In some pics he looks okay and in others he looks odd! Almost like his legs are too long! Only if they would of gone with the Parts forming!!..smh!! Zeta toys kronos and Bruticus are amazing. But like you said bot modes are garbage. They were out of there minds on tryng to tackle Haslab Hasbro Unicron. Zeta needs to focus on there materials and quality. I think Zeta tries to bite more than they can chew. As always great video!♥️
Yes the scale is all over the place. I tried to make sense of all this for myself and also to share with others. The flip side to that is there are many collectors that really can not display the bigger ones and having smaller options are good for them. Thanks

Thanks

I do wonder if the corona virus is going to affect 3p?
It already has slowed production and pushed back many releases. It really is too soon to know the full impact though. Thanks
Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 agreed! Options are good!:0)
Dx9 has big legs xtb has small legs 🤦🏾♀️
That is true. Dx9 in super stable also so I wonder now how Stable XTB will be in combined mode. Thanks
