I shoot both the Nikon Z9 and the Fuji XT5, one thing I love about the Fuji is the tactile dials. For me, I shoot Fuji more for the experience and really enjoy it. They are beautiful cameras as well.
I was really hoping this Sigma or the Viltrox 27 were gonna be released before my trip to the States in July.. $500ish is more my budget, but they weren't available yet. I tested the Fuji 23 at a shop and it was love at 1st shot, and decided to shell out the $900 for it. I'm SO glad I did, it's absolutely amazing, the AF on an X-T5 NEVER misses, and if I put it on my X-T2, it makes the T2 a better camera. I regret buying the Sigma 56, optically it's very good, but not having an aperture ring is more of a hassle than I expected. All my other lenses have aperture rings and so it gets confusing especially at events/weddings when I'm using to cameras. The Viltrox sure looks interesting but the confident, instant AF of the Fuji is much more important to me than a little extra sharpness or background blur.
I owned a couple of Sigma Art lenses for E Mount and loved them but until Sigma release lenses with an aperture ring they're not a consideration for me on X Mount. That's why I really hope they bring their I-Series lenses to Fujifilm. They seem like a better fit for Fujifilm than they do for Sony.

Viltrox makes some impressive lenses but 'm inclined to say the Sigma 23mm would outperform the Viltrox 23mm. However, that's almost certainly not the case with the Viltrox Pro 27mm 1.2 which is the same price as the Sigma 23mm. That lens kind of negates the Sigma and I wonder if Sigma would have developed this lens if they knew what Viltrox was about to release. I have two E-mount Sigma lenses and absolutely love them. I hope they do well on X-mount and they bring their I-series lenses to Fujifilm. I believe those would be tremendously popular with Fujifilm shooters.
@@jaegerschtulmann I’m not sure who you’re responding to but that comment is pure snobbery. There are no awful lenses being offered by Viltrox, Sigma or Fujifilm. In fact, most contemporary lenses would destroy the best lenses from 25 years ago. More affordable lenses are going to produce a greater number of artifacts and most of these imperfections are easily corrected in camera or in post. It’s unlikely that anyone commenting on a UA-cam video is shooting for Vogue and has no need for top of the line lenses. Anyone who condescends to someone else about their gear likely lacks any actual photographic ability. Or at least lacks manners. Believing that a $1,000 lens improves a photographer’s work is a sign of someone who doesn’t understand what makes a great photograph. Fantastic comparison. This was extremely helpful as the 23mm(35 mm) is such a great focal length for travel, street and eveready portraits.

I already have a 27 (40mm) lens. I’m wanting a cheaper 18mm (28mm) lens. Glad Fuji is allowing it unlike Canon
Do you have the viltrox or the fuj 2.8?
@@clementc7297 TTartisan. Super budget but I like the results.
Hi Matt! Great video. I have one question: when using the Sigma 23mm f1.4 DC DN how far away would you have to be from the camera e.g. at 9:53?
I’m a longtime Fuji guy using XT5 and X100V currently. Gonna sell my X100V to get a Sony A6700 with this lens. Sigmas lenses are really impressive.
HI, how can I download the files?
There are 2 different versions of the XF 23/1.4. The new one with WR is better. Which one did you use for this comparison?
New XF 23 WR
Better how? Apparently you had to ask, so you couldn’t tell? Juss askin…
