I grew up in Newberry Springs and was a lifeguard for two years there. It was a beautiful place to work and spend your summer. I’ve never heard that introductory story though, about why it closed. I’d love to hear some evidence on that, as I’m sure I would of known the employee who that happened to. I’ve never heard that story. It was a tight knit community. The park had financial struggles.
