  • The Organic Acids Test (OAT) is one of the core functional medicine tests that Dr. James Greenblatt uses in his psychiatric practice. The OAT has 76 markers that help see a window into a patients nutritional deficiencies, metabolism, dysbiosis and more.
"Functional medicine testing is a critical component for every psychiatric patient we see," - James Greenblatt, MD
Dr. Greenblatt understands all patients are different and sees that psychiatric patients are often not alleviated from their symptoms with medications. The marker on the OAT that is most important to Dr. Greenblatt is the 3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-3-hydroxypropionic acid (HPHPA).

What should we do when HPHPA is high (165) with mild Arabinose (56) on Mosaic Diagnostic for 2.5 yr old child. Suggest treatment.

Commonly treated with Vancomycin and Fluconazole (to treat the coexisting candida), see Dr.William Shaw, founder of Great Plains Lab/now Mosaic Diagnostics - he also use Oregano oil to deal with Clostridia sporulation. He also uses pulsing method 1 day on 2 days off to reduce the recurrence of spore-forming Clostridia. I wish you success!
