      Effortless? Vicious and Violent. He swung for a fastball but was able to slow the bat down for any other pitch. I played with him in Pittsburg. To bad he was a punk.

    Everyone needs to chill. Barry Bonds is inarguably one of the ten best hitters in the history of the game (Williams, Gehrig, Ruth, Votto, Foxx, and a couple others I'd argue are better) with or without steroids. HOWEVER, he would NOT, I repeat NOT be the all-time HR King if it wasn't for steroids. Any homer hit after #400 or so was tainted. Yes, he is still the only member of the 400/400 club. Yes, he would likely be in the 600, maybe 700 club anyway. But Barry Bonds should not be a hall of famer because of the way he handled the whole situation with steroids, including lying and coverups, the perhaps devastating negative impact he had on the baseball fandom as a whole, and for fucking up the record books with all those damn asterisks.

    • @activatedalmond1257
      @activatedalmond1257 6 років тому +1

      Nah, one of the best baseball players in history belongs in a museum documenting the history of baseball. Period. Be honest about his steroid use in there, I don't care. Because it doesn't take away from him being a top 10 player all time. Baseball's popularity grew rapidly due to the steroid era, it didn't suffer from it. Of the guys you listed I would say only Ruth, Gehrig, and Williams were clearly better hitters than Bonds. Foxx could be argued to be a better hitter and Votto as well, but Votto has a weaker case. But unlike those guys, Bonds was more than a hitter, he was a great defender and base runner for most of his career until he bulked up. Like you said he's the only member of the 400/400 club, but in addition to that he's also the only member of the 500/500 club
