I don't think it was making fun of the Bengali Language.The Dialogue was in Bangla and a lengthy one so the Actor had to speak in Bangla. We can't expect a Non Bengali actor pronounce better than this. In that case In Bhool Bhulaaya 1 Akshay Kumar also made funny gestures singing the Bengali Song. So Why only blame Kartik Aryan?
I will disagree. Amitabh Bachchan had worked in Anusandhan, he spoke Bengali really well. Non Bengali singers can sing songs in Bengali or other language that they don't know, there's a rhythm in every dialogue. As an actor he could have pronounced it correctly if director wanted. Actually making fun of other languages is common in every industry. In eken Babu, the character makes fun of Hindi by speaking it very poorly, similarly Kartik Aryan's character pronounced it wrong.

When in a Bengali film a Bengali character speaks poor Hindi, they are essentially making fun of themselves or their own community by saying that their Hindi isn't good. They are not demeaning anybody else or any other community and especially not the language. They are making fun of THEMSELVES. But when in a Hindi film a Hindi character says that he was talking to a Bengali ghost and the ghost was speaking Hindi like that, it kind of becomes an insult, because you are portraying a person from another community and making fun by using unnecessary stereotypes. We all know it wasn't meant to disrespect the Bengali community, it was just there to add a humor element. However, whatever Anirban said was quite understandable in my opinion.

I think anirban's comment was simply critiquing one particular stereotypical scene of the movie that did a poor and rather exhausting caricature of the Bengali language. The point he raised was correct and it has nothing to do with Hindi vs Bengali movie whatsoever. You are saying things that his tweet doesn't even bring up.

I think Kartik was not possessed by the spirit and he was enacting it all in the end to pressurise Tabu (Manjulika) divulge the truth and it was clearly shown how he came across Anjulika knowing the entire incident and twist and he planned the act later on , so the inconsistent Bengali is justified - we need to keep in mind he was not playing any Bengali character unlike Ayushmann Khurrana in Meri Pyari Bindu . It’s not possible for an actor to know all languages, had Anirban been in a similar role where he would have to speak Kannada or Tamil for some role he too would have made errors .

That's not the same thing when you are normally speaking a language and speaking it for purpose of acting,here speaking is also included in his acting capability. Anirban has criticized his acting not his knowledge of Bengali speaking. It's not possible for any one to know all the language, but when you are doing acting in that language you should learn to speak it properly, otherwise your acting will be criticized. Okay. First of all the tweet itself doesn’t make any sense as the dialogue that Anirban babu is talking about is not in Bangla itself. This word “kol” came in a scene where Kartik Aaryan is actually speaking Hindi. The exact line was in the scene where Kiara’s sister and her “to be husband” came to Kartik’s room and meanwhile in a conversation Kartik said to them “Kol se job se reet mora hai.. tob se usko tmhare bare mein shob pota hai”. So it definitely was not in Bangla but rather a Bengali person trying to speak in bhanga chora hindi. Secondly, if Anirban babu has to blame he can blame the writers solely for this one dialogue (if it hurt so badly) as Kartik will obviously have nothing to do with it. I’m not a Kartik fan but just trying to set the context.

I don't think it was making fun of the Bengali Language.The Dialogue was in Bangla and a lengthy one so the Actor had to speak in Bangla. We can't expect a Non Bengali actor pronounce better than this. In that case In Bhool Bhulaaya 1 Akshay Kumar also made funny gestures singing the Bengali Song. So Why only blame Kartik Aryan?

I will disagree. Amitabh Bachchan had worked in Anusandhan, he spoke Bengali really well. Non Bengali singers can sing songs in Bengali or other language that they don't know, there's a rhythm in every dialogue. As an actor he could have pronounced it correctly if director wanted. Actually making fun of other languages is common in every industry. In eken Babu, the character makes fun of Hindi by speaking it very poorly, similarly Kartik Aryan's character pronounced it wrong.

Aritra, Stereotyping and making fun of are not the same things
When in a Bengali film a Bengali character speaks poor Hindi, they are essentially making fun of themselves or their own community by saying that their Hindi isn't good. They are not demeaning anybody else or any other community and especially not the language. They are making fun of THEMSELVES. But when in a Hindi film a Hindi character says that he was talking to a Bengali ghost and the ghost was speaking Hindi like that, it kind of becomes an insult, because you are portraying a person from another community and making fun by using unnecessary stereotypes. We all know it wasn't meant to disrespect the Bengali community, it was just there to add a humor element. However, whatever Anirban said was quite understandable in my opinion.
Bro Hindi is our country language so it is compulsory to know Hindi।।

That's not the same thing when you are normally speaking a language and speaking it for purpose of acting,here speaking is also included in his acting capability. Anirban has criticized his acting not his knowledge of Bengali speaking. Okay. First of all the tweet itself doesn’t make any sense as the dialogue that Anirban babu is talking about is not in Bangla itself.
This word “kol” came in a scene where Kartik Aaryan is actually speaking Hindi.
The exact line was in the scene where Kiara’s sister and her “to be husband” came to Kartik’s room and meanwhile in a conversation Kartik said to them “Kol se job se reet mora hai.. tob se usko tmhare bare mein shob pota hai”.
So it definitely was not in Bangla but rather a Bengali person trying to speak in bhanga chora hindi.
Secondly, if Anirban babu has to blame he can blame the writers solely for this one dialogue (if it hurt so badly) as Kartik will obviously have nothing to do with it.
