I grew up literally on Roller Derby Bay Bombers, around age 7(was probably younger)thru 24. My parents followed the team games around the Bay Area we lived in San Francisco. I remember very clearly the 1st Roller Derby game in the new Oakland Coliseum. Had the penant, roller skates and who could forget the red roller derby skateboard, lived on 24th st we'd go up to Dolores St and come straight down no stopping to Mission Street. Thats when kids played outside All Day Long. I've watched these You Tube videos over and over, and found myself & parents, gradmother, friends in the crowd-what fun seeing myself at different ages/stages of life. All thanks to you tube what fun.
I really miss these days with dad, grandma, step mom, sister and little brother. We were her on the bottom floor on the right side always. Kezar Stadium, San Francisco Cow Palace, Oakland Auditorium was packed with fans and the excitement seeing Carol Peanut Myers, Joanie Weston, Delores Tucker, Charlie O'Connell, Tony Roman, Cliff Butler.... the 🔥 fire was L.I.T!!!
Thank you for posting this. Fond memories. Was present @ this game @ Kezar Pavilion. Had only this league lasted was the best effort of the Seltzer era of Roller Derby's return.
Viewing this game again Calvello was pretty much backed against the wall giving Delores Holmes as much responsibility so early though she didn't have much of a choice with JJ Burton & Claudia Hobdy out of the lineup.

A wonderful memory and a great first half
excellent first half of game.No shannagan/theatrical drama. Just pure skating skills and gaming plays. I LUV IT!!! This is ROLLER DERBY.
Rita Williams was a gangster! I was a bombers fan but I had the biggest crush on rita Williams!❤😂
I love watching the M& M gurls, McGuire and Meyers… love when they skate together than against each other
