This song seems like it's about Gilgamesh and his admiration in humanity moving forward. As we've seen from his rule, the King likes how his people is able to make new things. Most of all, there's hints about his story with his friend Enkidu.

@@shotsarelost7884 What we see in Fate / stay night, is a younger Gilgamesh. He was more cruel and bratty in his youth. Babylonia Gilgamesh is just older and more mature. Also, he was corrupted in Fate / stay night. I think it was bathing in the grail mud. I can't remember that part.
@@shotsarelost7884 Also, a servant is only a summoned portion of the original. That's why they fight withing certain classes otherwise people like Artoria and CuChulain (the blue lancer) would be a lot more versatile in fights. So we never see the whole picture from a servant. Their being is split across basically a multiverse. Which is why there are different versions of fate /stay night
Understood this as being a Song for Caster Gilgamesh, ultimately having saw what will happen to Uruk and everyone else using clairvoyance, deciding that no matter what happens if humanity is to continue he`ll push on regardless of the costs until ultimately the battle at the Demonic Front is over and whatever remains can live on with him watching over it. Only problem is that by thinking that, its become depressing to think about it, mainly because its just Gil watching as he loses everything around him, unable to really do much else other than to keep moving forward, and it sure does not help if you combine it with Siduri's song "Tell me" either.
The messed up thing about Gil's clairvoyance is he had to see everything bad that happened twice.
-Tiamat's attack on his people.
-The fall of his allies ie. Ushi, Leonidas, Tomoe, Amakusa, Fuuma, and even Ana.
-Siduri's fate.
-and Enkidu's deaths.

Something I could see Gil telling Ritsuka, the Babylon chapter makes us realize that Gil is the way he is because we see him at the end of his journey when he's had all his victories, defeats, and pain.
The emotion you gift these songs with reaches divine levels of true beauty. I cannot express it any better.

A lot of people believe, that this song is written for Fujimaru and Mashu.
But I rather believe, that it is written for Gilgamesh.
He literally IS the "prover". I've read his Epic countless times. His burdens, his situation, his life. Babylonia shows, who he really is when he doesn't hide his feelings completely like in SN. This song fits perfectly for him, and even though the first Ending "Hoshi ga Furu Yume" is OFFICIALLY written for Gilgamesh and Enkidu, I like Prover a lot more. Even though we have no official information for whom this song is - I am still sure it is written for Gilgamesh, for his story before, and after babylonia.
Yes, we could argue that Fujimaru is a prover too - he went further than anyone would have ever thought of him - and it would make sense for him, too, but some lines in the song wouldn't fit. Also, Gilgamesh is the first King of humanity. "Prover" as a title would fit both of them, but Gilgamesh certainly a bit more than Fujimaru.

This song already brought me to tears the first time I heard it and continued to get close every time afterwards, and now you've opened the floodgates once again. Gods this song hurts.
"Prover" when refering to MC and Mash hurts in so many ways, because it's just fact. They are the ones who prove that all of this happened. They are the only ones who witnessed the singularities, the people in them, the Servants like Jalter, like Cu Alter, who don't exist, who never should have existed, but who did, in that brief time that was erased.
They are the ones who remember the Lostbelts, these paralell worlds full of people living their lives as best they can, who are erased from reality so our world can live. They bear the scars, both emotional and physical, that prove that those worlds existed.
Most of all, they are the ones who prove that Solomon, that the life "Romani Archiman" truly existed, and lived, and loved, and was loved, and saved all of time.
Everyone here in the comments is talking about Gil, and how amazingly this anime and arc portrayed him and his experiences, aswell as how well this song fits him and that's you aren't wrong! It's very unclear who exactly this song is for and between the kinda vague lyrics and the visuals of this ed it fits him very well! But, in my heart, this is Mash and the main character's song. Ritsuka Fujimaru, Gudao, Gudako, whatever you want to call them, this song represents them and Mash, all the hardships it took to get this far, and all the hardships left in front of them that they will face together, along with da Vinci, and Goredolf, and the Servants, and everyone else in Chaldea staff.

This song is simply beautiful and i think it could be interpreted for either Gilgamesh or humanity's last master or even both! :) all i know, is it was good to see a different side of Gilgamesh and by far, this version of him is my overall fave.
