Because Note has never been small, it's always the biggest, no surprise there. Big phone is not for me too, so Note included.
Could it be because Samsung phones are a bit slimmer because of the edges? iPhones have a wider build for the pro and max.

I am tired of big phones. My last phone was a XS Max and I am ready to embrace the mini.
I hope they continue to include mini phones in their product lines and that they improve the battery life on the mini's.

Matt, With a shaved head wear red black or white not blue or green and use a WARM light for camera time it greatly helps hide the skull cap effect of the stubble.

Can anyone tell me why no one has talked about the little usb c to usb a adapters for people (like me) with a bunch of the old us a charging blocks? Will it make your phone charge slower? They are only like$6 for 2 of them. Seems like the cheapest way to get started without spending much $$ at all..

I know what Austin is saying when he says that the regular 12 is best for most, but I think more people like the smaller form factor than he realizes, especially since lots of people are used to their se, 6 and 7. even with it being about the same size dimensionally, the display size is comparable to the iPhone 6/7 plus, meaning the mini is an upgrade in display size for most as well while retaining the same overall form factor

I also agree on the 12 being the standard people should get. 12 pro seems out of place being 999 for only 2gigs of ram and lidar/telephoto cams. Pro max on the other hand is worth it by a lot for the extra 100 bucks you get 30% bigger battery (which is huge imo)/bigger screen/slightly better cams. It's really weird that the 12 pro has the same battery life as the standard 12 as well.
I ended up just getting an 11 with 128GB and a latercase. I'll rock that for a few years and then see what's up.
I don't get people who say it's so big. It's literally .1 inches bigger than the 11 pro max. Put them side by side and they are almost identical. Yes the screen is .2 inches bigger but the actual dimensions are .1 inches bigger in height and .01 inches bigger in width.

Man the thing that kills me with small phones is battery life, it's been slowly increasing in the handsets I've bought(s9 to iPhone 11 to Note20 Ultra) and I'd hate to go back to a smaller battery..
Personally, I'm upgrading from the XS Max to the 12 Pro Max.
I've wanted an ultrawide for quite some time as I see a greater benefit over the telephoto, and I also have larger hands than literally anyone who I know, so the form factor of the Max for me is more than acceptable. I'd go as far as to say I find it perfect and very immersive. However, if I was to buy a phone for a parent, standard iPhone 12 all the way. 😊

I think both are crazy for loving iPhones so much. I do, however, see the point to a smaller device as no matter the processing power a phone will never perform the same as a computer. I just wonder at what size is a phone too big, after switching from my SE (1st gen) to my current android device which is 6.4" I found the larger screen size to make a major difference in how I consume content and in how I use my smartphone in general. However, with screen sizes up to 6.9" how much more benefit is there and when does it stop being functional as a smartphone, as opposed as being more of a tablet for example.
The 12 mini is the first phone from Apple that makes me want to switch from Android.

Yeah... I don’t need 2 hands to hold a phone, I want to be able to hold it in 1 hand easily. The 12 mini is slightly bigger than the iPhone 4 and about as big as the 5. The only downside between the 12mini and 12 is 1-2 hours of battery life but even then the mini still has a long battery life (13-15 hours if I remember). Due to price and size, I’m gona go mini.

In the last gen, the iPhone 11 was such an easy recommendation. It is very fast, the display is not as good as the pro but is still an upgrade of most 2+ year old smart phones and it gets fantastic battery life. For the average consumer it ticked all of the boxes for a phone. The 12 is a good evolution but is not as easy to recommend as the standard 11 was.
I would still select Android not only because their phones are better but they offer the complete package for the same price. Samsung would even add free Earpods and a bundle of 1 month GamePass

I 100% agree with Matt that Apple should make a Pro Mini. I would be all over the mini if it had the pro camera features (also, if it had the Pro pacific blue because that is obviously the best color out of every 12)
I think 🤔 I’m leaning more towards the Mini now than the Pro Max, because realistically, I don’t need that complex of a camera when 99% of the time, I’m just a regular person/tourist when taking pics
I'm thinking MINI this year for nostalgic purposes and price. Then, next year when they have the high refresh rate 120 Hz displays, go all out and get the big chungus.

I agree with Austin. The 12 is the best way to go. The mini is just too small for every day text messaging and entertainment use. Most people use their phone as an entertainment device first and foremost. Another thing I have to ask is are you guys living in a bubble? All three carriers actually have a pretty significant chunk of low band 5G out there. A lot of the popular centers have access to that portion of the networks. Mid-band and millimeter wave 5G may be more sparse, but from a coverage standpoint it helps improve that immensely.
It’s interesting.....just a few years ago everyone was saying the BIGGER the screen the better and apple was criticized for not being BIG enough and now everyone’s excited about a small phone. Things that make you say hmmm 🤔

I got the Big Chungus Flex (512GB). Got scared at how much space photos and videos are going to take considering the higher resolution. In retrospect, I probably could have gotten the Big Chungus Common (256GB). Ah well...too late to change my order. Really wanted it for the camera and 6GB RAM.
