hi!! I'm starting at UoM in September and I'm considering staying at a private accommodation but I'm sceptical because I'm unsure of the social life. do you find it easy to socialise with people despite being in private accommodation?
hii!! to be honest, it was quite hard, I only really socialised and made friends with my flatmates which I was lucky with because we were all 1st-2nd years (but in uni age doesn't really matter as you meet mature students etc). Also, during term time you would obviously meet more people outside your accom and more in your course (those are the people I hang out with more than the people ive met in my accom)
Hi Maria. Is this a girls only accommodation or is it shared? If not shared, do they have a gents accommodation as well? Would you kindly share any useful link if possible. Thanks.

heyy, going into private isn't that bad as most people here in my accom has been 1st or 2nd year students and a handful of people that ive met are also staying in private so I wouldn't say its uncommon. its definitely more laid back /quiet than uni accoms but its worth more your money. It can be social depending on ur flat/block, but it's really a hit or miss. Don't be scared because you'll most likely meet more people outside your accom especially wen you go to freshers events etc.

hii! honestly I think my accom is was worth more my money than going into the uni accomms. It was roughly around the same price for what I was applying for anyway. Also, in my opinion the uni accomms are very old and only a few are modern looking so I preferred to stay in a place where I would feel really comfortable in. I was allocated an accom I didnt apply for and so the things I was looking for in a room like an ensuite etc. wasn't available.
@@_mariamarcos_ Yea I only applied for Uni accommodations b/c they said I’m guaranteed a spot as an international student but the private accommodations are honestly looking better lol

Hi Maria .I am moving to Manchester as a postgrad student.. Am having a hard time finding accomodations near campus.. kindly assist with websites l can browse for accomodation like yours and which areas I should look for accomodation eg city centre? NB am looking for one where l can Walk to campus
if your’re looking for the same one as mine, search iq student accommodation!! They have different accoms at different locations, all fairly near the uni campuses
Heyy, honestly the only difference would be the amount of space u have in the room. There’s not that much of difference from what i can remember so it really depends on your preference and budget! If you don’t mind a smaller room then i would opt in for the cheaper option :)

Hi! Its on the Iq student accommodation website and it's the Silver en suite plus room in Manchester Gardens. Prices may have varied since but they will normally start advertising the rooms available in the summer for next year.

theres like no difference honestly. i stayed in private and uni owned and the private was actually tons more social

Hi. No, I was able to secure a uni accommodation if I wanted to but I felt like going into private was worth more money than what I was offered.

it came with the accommodation, majority of UK student accommodation comes with double or 3/4 beds :)
