Dear viewers, seems like we made a mistake at 30:13 where the Tile map to Scatter distribution is explained. In the release version this behavior is only supported when you have the Tile map set to UVW space. If your Tile map is set to "Object" or "World" space then the Scatter distribution won't work correctly.
Additionally, if you'd like to see a proper 1:1 viewport preview of the Scatter distribution with regards to the Tile map you need your material tag's projection method to be set to UVW as well. You can of course change it back to whatever you'd like when you're, for example, plugging in a ground texture into your material.
As always we will be looking into improving this behavior.
    Thank you for understanding!

Hi! The tilemap was duplicated but only as black and white, and this was fed in to scatter to determine where grass was scattered and where it was not (see ua-cam.com/video/9WP7Oijes6s/v-deo.htmlsi=1l8HJxgUaBp-1lRg&t=1810 in this video - the time leading up to that goes through the tilemap setup for the concrete-like material for the tiles, and it's this that is copied but without anything other than it being black and white). That just goes into a distribution map in scatter, which is what controls where scatter places things and where it doesn't :)
Hope this helps! If not, best place is to ask over on the forums forum.corona-renderer.com/ where folks can share screen grabs, images, etc. Thanks! Tom

@@ChaosCorona It would be nice to have presets for making carpets and hairy materials, using hair material as well as being slow is incredibly frustrating.
