I love the way Mendy ana Rudiger reacts very fast when any blue is being provoked. That last minute incident Mendy came very fast to save the situation but Rudiger was already in control.

What is a Chelsea vs Leeds match without drama. No matter players. No matter the era. This rivalry continues. Toni Ruediger 100% deserves what ever it is his agent feels he deserves so he can remain at Chelsea Football Club. He is showing he is committed and very professional. Tuchel should change the formation, it's most likely he has been found out. At PSG he normally switched formation during the season, he has not done it at Chelsea, this present 3-4-3 he uses has been found out. They struggle when you press them while building from the back, also the midfield lacks creativity that's why the striker struggles, even havertz playing the false 9 hardly score a goal cuz no good service same for Lukaku. Chelsea is becoming horrible to watch, he should switch to 4-3-3 as he mostly used at PSG, in that way he can have 2 creative midfielders that are close to the 3 attackers and 1 defensive midfielder behind, that's what Liverpool and city play. No need for 3 central defenders when your team is struggling offensively
Yes... the team really struggle, especially after the player injuries. We conceded 8 goals in 3 matches, we are not okay. I hope Tuchel has solution. With the quality of players left now, the team seems to be struggling to play an aggressive 3-4-3 as usual.

Changing the formation means changing your habitual routine. One of such routine is the passing passage/pattern.

Lol u think football is that simple. This formation is one of the reasons we have closed the 19 points gap from last season- despite a lack of real preseason, lots of injuries forcing unfamiliar changes.

Not happy with the performance especially after taking the lead,we backed off and not working hard off the ball...we loose control on midfield in games against watford,zenith and today i'm nervous everytime RLC have the ball we need kante or kova ASAP otherwise with the way RLC is playing in midfield holding on to the ball for long in dangerous area you will get punish sometimes especially against big opponents

Things i notice (and concerning) since RLC plays in midfielders is. He rarely help the defenders. And it makes our defenders work extra hard to defend.
He's faster than Jorginho, but Jorginho is still better in defence than him. Somehow unbalanced midfield. That's why Alonso are so great when he played alongside Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante. Because he (Alonso) don't have to go back to defense that often
same thoughts here....not a fan of RLC...even Havertz, Mount and Werner have better defensive workrates. There was 1 instance when Leeds had the ball right at the edge of the area, and a more intense press was needed, but he was jogging his way around.
Being faster doesn't make you better defensively... but having said that, Jorginho has been dribbled past at quadruple the rate of RLC per 90 this season. In fact Jorginho is the most dribbled past player on the team by some distance, including attacking players. Considering one guy has played as a holding midfielder for years and the other is an inexperienced more attacking minded player used to a midfield three, he's performing a lot better with his defensive output than you suggest he is.
@@RL- top coaches see Jorgi closing spaces to prevent key passes (not recorded as a statistic), pressing at key breaks by opponents and intercepting passes. His ball holding and triangle passes helps us beat offensive presses and adds a new dimension to our game.. Why do you think Tuchel, Sarri, Mancini have so much faith in him?
also, he is the most dribbled past probably because of the number of games he played, and also because of his positioning where he puts himself in where there is most danger. if you are not there in the thick of action, then simply you wont be dribbled past - but does that make you a good player? if a player doesnt come back to defend, then he simply will have 0 dribbled past.
On the other hand, RLC is the only player who is not a regular international in the starting line up yesterday. Is it that hard to displace Kalvin Philips? Scott Parker had so much faith in him last season at CM (not AM)...and the result was relegation at Fulham. RLC is best at AM..but then even Bruno Fernandes has better defensive workrate.
I dont think RLC is fast. Faster than Jorginho yes, but Kova and Kante are much faster than him and have better workrate. Build up play without Kova or Kante is so slow. It isnt strange that those two are often injured, they are working so hard on and off the ball-

That's not really relevant anyway considering how much better he's been playing overall since he's clearly a confidence player and looks uncomfortable as a big fish in a small(er) pond. He isn't defensive and never has been, nor should he be in a two man midfield, yet he's still been solid. And he's still one of the most inexperienced 25 year olds around.
Being dribbled past 25% more than Ziyech (the next highest on the list) of all people is not even close to good enough despite what he brings to the team. His interception rate isn't that good compared to last season either. His role in the team (dictating the tempo) has nothing to do with his defending either, aside from the fact that our possession style is inherently preemptively defensive.
Also, no he isn't the most dribbled past player because of the number of games played. I said *per 90.* Loftus-Cheek has the lowest dribbled against rate of any of our central midfielders since... Loftus-Cheek played in 18/19, so clearly despite not having a defensive brain he's still contributing with his sheer power while then using his dribbling skills to relieve pressure just as Kovačić does.
And yes Phillips is that good, one of the best in his role in this country and an absolute warhorse. The fact you're comparing the two is laughable because they're completely different players.

Alonso is a big problem for Chelsea, I believe is high time the manager and club look into that
not Alonso. RLC. even Havertz, Mount and Werner has better defensive workrates. Fulham was relegated because Scott Parker persisted RLC as a low pressing CM. The only people who can get away with such a low intensity press is if you name is Messi or Ronaldo.
Alonso isn't the problem here a wing back needs his midfielders to assist stop scapegoating the player
@@876jamaicanyouth agreed. i hate it when alonso is scapegoated just because of a few defensive errors here and there. his overall game play is still at a very high level. people forget that he started the first 5 games where we went undefeated (including against pool with 10 men). tuchel dropped him after the defeat against Man City - a defeat which was arguably due to tactical mistakes by Tuchel.
Thiago silva, Mendy, Christensen, all have their fair share of errors..but they never get scapegoated as much as Alonso.

Kova and Kante are very vital to this Chelsea team. Chelsea concede goals since Kova and kante have been absent. Both of them are the ones doing the dirty tackles and Chelsea front three needs to get aggressive on tackles and area duels otherwise Chelsea will continue to concede goals.

I mean the difference between usual winter drops offs with this is that although our defense and midfield has become totally dogey, we still find a way to generally score. Usually the winter slump started with our inability to score.
I don't know what to think about Werner. Guy makes wrong decisions all the time. Was very frustrating yesterday. Kept mixing himself with the ball even when all alone. At one time he had the ball for like 2 mins figuring what to do with it until a defender came from the blues and fouled him. He is wasting space for players like Ziyech and pulisic! Ship him off

Can't dribble really, can't pass well, doesn't hold the ball well, isn't even as fast as we thought he would be, and forget finishing for the most part. He's only good for some counter attacking goals and maybe one pass in the end for the assist. But pulisic far more effective. Idk why we can't ever get a consistent front 3 or 4. We need that regardless of tactics. How can we have a fluid attack when they keep changing their teammates.
