Even better the second time round! Fantastic work everyone. Btw, I'm not saying you have to do more of these Geoff, but I can't help noticing that the controversial "Metropolitan Line" purple would be perfect for Line 14 of the Paris Metro... 👀
@kendalldalstock8900: “Busses” is correct as well. Particularly in the UK. “Buses” is an Americanism. This is a video about the London Underground. Do the math(s).
Acton Depot is a brilliant place, the last visit was the first time I met Geoff as well. Do remember that pretty well as it was for a book signing and I was in the queue, when it was my turn walked up to the table and Geoff was looking down, he looked up, saw me and said 'YOU!' and after that had a quick chat, was quick as there was a long queue which is understandable. Really enjoyed the video and was fun to watch and love to see more projects like this in the future. Maybe the DLR as a suggestion?
Now you need to make the infinitely more complicated Glasgow Subway. Or if you want something more simple, you could try to do the Paris Metro!!!! (Yes, this is a repost due to a re-upload)
@@reptongeek A live map of all railways in the Kanto area using model railways (there is a digital version getting live data that could be used to get the data)
For a moment, I thought this was a fun Part 2 to yesterday’s video lmao All I want to say is that this video is definition of immaculate vibes and what a fun team to work on this with. Big shoutout to Chris because they’re awesome!
This is the ultimate Lego Tube Nerd model. But if you can get even more people, more tracks, and a soccer field or similar, it would be even more amazing to do the ENTIRE tube network, plus the Elizabeth Line, Overground, and DLR.
I mean, if they cpuld make it dual track and get the full network running, I'm surprised if somebody like lego wouldn't want to sponsor the pieces at least
I enjoyed the video just as much the 2nd time around. It still looks like a lot of time, and effort went into production of the line. You can really see just how much fun the project was. But spending the evenings cutting out all those colored papers is either pure devotion or maybe a little madness, but then maybe a project like that requires a little of both, lol. I promise I will reopen my Lego London box from Christmas and actually finish building my Lego London. It is a must finish project now. I can hardly ignore it after you built the whole tube map. But I draw the line at all the brown paper to represent the River Thames separating the Tower of London, Big Ben, and the London Eye. Lol
I'm rewatching this video just because I enjoyed it so much the first time. My original comment was about how much this reminds me of the series that James May used to make, when he used to gather a group of people and build something with things such as lego.
I recall he built a hornby type model railway that ran along the path of a disused line down in Devon, even crossing the road where a level crossing once stood.
absolute joy filled get together. I have yet to get into the depot on open days, I am keeping up hope for the future. I wish they would do winter open. Stay tuned for a future episode where Geoff and Jen set up Tunnel Boring Network to create a 3D model in the depot floor
Emily that was excited because she just had to make and take care of the Waterloo & City line is hilarious. (Yeah I rewrote the same content, shame that Geoff has been copyrighted for no reason !)
This whole exercise has the feel of a corporate team building exercise only it’s great fun and ultimately successful. Well done team. What’s your next task?
Just Wow! *To see the intention you had, to make it by a 3D layout, rightfully and logically so, and without too much image complexity makes it feel so satisfyingly raw, simple, and fun to observe.* FYI, I do have the yellow (2018) passenger train [half]. It's great [controlled by phone too]
Instead of raising a complete line you could have raised and lowered them in the actual what goes over or under which and where. Just had a thought, repeat it inside clear plastic tubes then it will be a tube map.
They could have if they weren't going to runs trains. The tracks could have lain just over (or just under) others, as the Bakerloo, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines do in what they built. However, raising and lowering tracks by the height of the trains would make some slopes impossibly steep.
OMKC3! Geoff Marshall, Tom Scott and Half-Asleep Chris collaborating on a video!!!??? Just throw in Jay Foreman and few others at that’s like the Dream Team of British UA-camrs!!!!!!!
A rare moment for the Waterloo & City line to shine! As for the London Transport Depot, it’s an absolute must! I don’t understand why that isn’t the ‘main’ museum as it’s much more grander & exciting than Covent Garden.
Excellent! (Reminiscent of that time we all joined you for the Human Tube Map!) . Do you think in 50 years time people will be asking, "Where is that Lego tube map?" and the answer will be, "Oh it was just taken apart afterwards and returned to its owners." Funny how that is true of so many things!
Nice one Jeff. Enjoyed it even better the second time around as I watched it from the comfort of my lounge instead of on the bus. Question, why were some of you wearing covers on your shoes?

Nice job on doing this !❤❤❤❤
Good job Geoff love you man! ❤
does it come with a lego frog?
Fingers crossed, this doesn't get copyright claimed
That's why I stopped using Storyblocks for music, they regularly 'split up' with their artists and then a month later you get a copyright issue

he even used the word guillotine.
Y E S.
Videos about building the tube map in Lego, are like busses. You wait forever for one, and then two comes at once.
😂😝
Haha
*buses
@kendalldalstock8900: “Busses” is correct as well. Particularly in the UK. “Buses” is an Americanism. This is a video about the London Underground. Do the math(s).
I gather elevating the circle line was easier than excavating the depot & kept the LTM happy
Do the full map, but let Jay Foreman finish the Northern Line!!
what he didnt do in his songs🤣🤣
Brick men brick men brick brick brick men men
That'd be brilliant - especially if you add the old Metropolitan Line when it went to Brill and Verney Junction and the District Line to Windsor bits.
Have you seen the London Tube Map?
Since Half Asleep Chris was involved, I have to ask; Does it come with a Lego Frog?
Ah, I wondered if it was Half Asleep Chris! Hard to see on my phone without my glasses, but the voice was familiar
I was really expecting one in his car.
Yup or in huis garden
I just know that Tom Scott is going to recommend this video in his weekly newsletter.
that would be lovely if he did!
@@geofftech2does it come with a lego frog
Shame about the copyright claim, let’s watch it all over again I guess! 😅

Nah. He should push the boat out and do Tokyo Subway
They already have! 0:18

Lovely to see both Jen and Geoff together. Two of my three favourite railway UA-camrs.
Love the replacement bus service.
Lego and London Underground. Two of my favourite things together.
This!

9:46 In my opinion the best part of the video

Best game of 'Mornington Crescent' ever!! 🙌😁
Loved this video. You should definitely do more Lego themed London Underground videos. Perhaps try and recreate famous station models?
Brilliant.
Especially love the cardboard idea - creates a super visual
This was so fun! Waterloo & City supremacy!!!

I would call the London Underground a warm-up.
Now you got to build the network rail map! :D
Thanks Geoff! I love the group project aspect of this, and the lines and trains too of course
I love how everyone is outraged by raising the Circle line 😂
It makes sense doesn't it?
Don't worry Paul, there is no grey line. The Jubilee is silver

I appreciate it. Also - the Waterloo and City line was the hardest work and I only derailed it once!
@@EmilyTakesTheBus you're having the noble work of derailment team from Network Lego 😂
@@justmeajah Network Lego did not get involved. I fixed that derailment myself! 😂
Thanks!
Train and lego Nerds meeting so cool
Same comment as last time - where do we apply to hang out in the garden with Geoff and Chris?! 😅
This whole exercise has the feel of a corporate team building exercise only it’s great fun and ultimately successful. Well done team. What’s your next task?
This is so cool! Also a big shout out to Emily, who was one of the amazing guides when I did the Hidden London Tour of Baker St back in January! :)
Epic video, really great idea. The shots from above of all the trains going round the lines was wonderful. Congrats on a great fun concept.
Wouldn’t expect Chris to collaborate with Geoff, while Geoff works on trains and Chris works on Lego. What a really great colab dynamic! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Just Wow!

Well done geoff and half asleep chris and all the people who helped🎉
6:59 I love how confident Dominic is in placing the Battersea station paper. There, boom, next! 😂😂😂
I was thinking I getting déjà vu with this video - well done all on this project
Loved the first video, now loving this one 😂
2:55 IT'S HALF-ASLEEP CHRIS!!
Btw: How is Ralph, Bella and Maisie doing?
I really really really love this video, it’s like my childhood and one of my favorite UA-camrs comes together
Please consider doing the whole thing!
With all the elevated tracks, this feels more like the Chicago El Trains
Instead of raising a complete line you could have raised and lowered them in the actual what goes over or under which and where.

3:10 That was perfectly timed!
Also this is really cute!
Not unlike those paranormal videos though, where everything happens just out of frame...
Great video and amazing to the whole team! The music sounds great too 🎉
Awesome idea, that LEGO tube train looks great!

Everyone drink for the mention of Charles Tyson Yerkes.
And that the piece of track collapsed at the point of name check. The hazard of being a tube-you-tuber
Playing with Lego professionally. That’s the life!
Fab!

Chris’ Tube carts are so cool.
Absolutely amazing project, and you have awesome friends who turn out to support your crazy ideas. The most fun video in London transport history!

Such an amazing idea, great job everyone involved
I love a good cross-over of interests and this Lego x Underground is unreal. Great execution in an amazing place!
An awesome build there. Nice to see everyone chipping in. Great video Geoff.
Can we please use this as a Prototype for a running Lego Tube Map permanently displayed at the Transport Museum?
As Charles Tyson Yerkes, I can confirm I did not use wood to elevate tube lines built by UERL. I used paper machete instead.
Absolutely BRILLIANT!🤩🔝💥
well all i can say is WOW what a great idea of something fun to do for you and your friends, you all must have had so much fun.
This looks amazing, I would like to see what this would be like if this was done with the whole map
Nice one Jeff. Enjoyed it even better the second time around as I watched it from the comfort of my lounge instead of on the bus.

This is pretty cool. Great job by you and your team!
Jen on the move dressed as a minion. Great cameo!
What a huge amount of fun! Sat here like a kid with a huge grin on my face. Great video. :)
Absolutely love this! Kudos to everyone involved 👏👏👏👏👏
The Lego tube map should be a permanent exhibit at the LTM!!
yes they should do that.
Didn't know you and Half Asleep Chris collabed. Nice to see this map with the custom trains and figures, absolutely crazy
Thank you so much for this wholesome video!! It was a pleasure seeing it twice 😊
Loved this video (before the copyright issues😂) , combining two of my nerdy interests
Thanks for re uploading the video
Thsi was fantastic to watch, thank you all!
I love the tube and Lego!!! This looks like so much fun was had by all. Love the mini Lego Geoff!!x
Next step is to rent out a massive warehouse and the the whole tube map
So pleasing to watch! Well done all x

Nerds watching nerds being nerdy! This has made my day!
Lego is an underrated form of Train modeling. It never ends.
This looks like ssooooo much fun.
Please tell me it's going to be on display somewhere....
This is great i cant stop watching this, now that is how to make a tube map 👍👍👍
Fabulous!
Geoff so Paul does Lego as well as Heritage Trains and Tours for the Museum what ever next - love the fun
Wait… you got the train tracks from Half Asleep Chris ?! Woah, cool collaboration!
He’s in the video, yes !!
been their twice, great place to see old trains
We need UK Dept Boards to do some magic here… Imagine real time trains moving!
I love half asleep Chris!!!!!
I got distracted by the A60 Met Line in the background - a throwback to my childhood!
I see the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines were part suspended on this day!
3:05 Surely Charles Tyson Yerkes _did_ use wooden supports in the construction. Somebody put all those put all those jarrah posts under the rails.
