Hey Ariys, while watching, I was thinking exactly that- this man must be one of the best teachers ever; the gentle strength and eloquence in his playing and speaking put you totally at ease, makes a person want to be interested! What a wonderful person. Good luck with your guitar if you decide to get one.

4:53 ...this is probably the most beautiful sentence I have ever heard in an tutorial/instructional video of any kind!! Thank you very much for these videos Brandon!
Brandon, to me when I first started working on my tremolo, I had a tremendous problem getting the sound that I wanted due to my nails. I think getting the perfect size for your picking nails plays a dramatic role on adjusting your tremolo technique and sound. I would love your feedback onto that.

I've watched so many other guitarists on UA-cam try and explain Tremelo and there's just nobody does it like you do. Amazingly simple, detailed ways...not only do you play beautifully but are so gifted at relaying the way to do. Thank you so kindly. I appreciate you tremendously!!!!

Hi, I've just subscribed to your channel. I play rock with my band and admire classical guitar very much. I need to learn classical technical stuffs in order to enrich my arsenal. One of them is this one.
Thank you for the lesson, you have beautiful skills and I aspire to be even half as good as you one day!! If you ever come to Australia I would pay good money for an individual lesson, you are truly a master of your instrument;
Hello, subscribed your channel. How beautifully you explain ❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌. Also your voice is very soothing to listen to 👌👌😊. Loved your lessons ❤️❤️❤️😊. Love from India ❤️❤️❤️😊😊
Hit a wall with my guitar playing. Decided to learn classical guitar, and you have been a massive help. Thanks so much, excited for the progress I have already been seeing and that is still to come!
Cheers Brandon. I've been playing classical guitar for 25 years and always struggled with getting the balancing right. Your one tip of lowering the wrist has made enough of a difference that I'm confident it's only a short period of practising away from being "right"
Absolutely brilliant masterclass of how to play a tremolo. Your videos have inspired me to pick up my classical guitar and to implement your technique for what is surely one of the greatest sounds produced on the guitar. I really hope you will provide us with more techniques to make our music more enjoyable. Thank-you.
My teacher always taugh me by telling me to listen the sound and find my own music, that ended up I became so musical with no support of the foundation of techniques. Your video just made the right place for me to realized what I lacked and showed me the way of fixing it. Thank you for these great lessons and music. Have a nice day.
Years ago, I had a crash course in using tremolo teaching myself to play "tomorrow tomorrow" by Elliott Smith. At the time I had no knowledge of proper technique, I just had tabs and a couple UA-cam covers to reference. I realize now that I was galloping through the song like a horse 😂
I found that very difficult I mean the tremelo variation part of (there's a PMIM instead of PAMI in some sections) the piece Alhambra. Can you please demonstrate it!!
Thank you so much for doing this series. You are doing more for the art of classical guitar than you probably realize. I taught myself how to play classical guitar from youtube videos and without a teacher, I had little guidance. I remember performing a tremolo piece for a competition in high school, and the judges made comments that my tremolo needed work in essentially all the areas you addressed here. I had no idea what they were talking about, or how to improve my sound. You are providing for people insight into the nuances that will make them better musicians and, ultimately, classical guitarists. I remember stumbling across your Verano Porteno video when I was learning it two years ago, and I was in awe of your musicality, and a little sad at how few views it had. I am very happy to see your channel growing, and that you are providing insight into your exquisite technique for generations to come, for free.
#2 is spot on, I'd even suggest just learning tremolo starting on the inside strings as they highlight the overextension early on, before muscle memory has time to set in which then forces you to relearn your finger movement patterns and unlearn your previous patterns. You can then just use this technique for the high E string anyway
Is there a chance that you could make a video (or a segment of a video) where you discuss the pros and cons of "anchoring" your right hand? I've noticed that you don't do it, but I've noticed other great guitarists like Tommy Emmanuel do it. I guess it comes down to personal preference and probably wont be what makes or breaks your playing in the end. But I'm in some awkward inbetween state right now where I feel that anchoring (by pinky) limits the reach and mobility of my ring and long finger, but if I dont anchor I get lost in the strings.
Hi Brandon and everyone, thank you for your videos! I have been playing guitar for 17 years, and I have learned a lot from you. With a lot of practice (and maybe annoying my flatmates a bit), I have improved a lot on my tremolo through your posture advices and exercises you suggest for warm up. I am getting somewhere with Recuerdos de la Alhambra (in Spanish, we don't pronounce the "h" in this one ;) ), and it is quite challenging. Is there a way to develop it so that it comes naturally when picking up the guitar? If this technique was a video game, it takes some time to "load" on my fingers through warm up, and I would like to get it to "load" faster. In the video where you were going through the history of the guitar together with fellow musicians, you played a part of Recuerdos de la Alhambra, and I saw a cut in the video, and that made me ask if you needed time to "load" it to your fingers through warm up.
Hello, Mr Charmer!! How I kept checking my notifs waiting for your #tremolo_part II !! You're just #superfuntastic! 👌👌 (P.s. sorry for the late comment. 🙏)
I'd strongly recommend this instruction since he is the first youtube teacher I've seen to add music interpretation to tremolo technique. (And it's so funny that he is able to demonstrate a galloping amateur-like tremolo intentionally.)
78 DISLIKE ? wondering who these people are? You are amazing man, i feel like i am getting better playing guitar by watching your videos and practicing the way you show. Thank you.
Thanks so much for part I&II ! Those exercises I practiced this morning are really making a difference! I'll come back for the musicality in a couple months though, couple meaning a host! 😅
Absolutely!!! Tremolo with 3 fingers really requires the perfect length of the fingernail (perfect for you personally, the length will differ between individuals). I couldn't do 3 finger tremolo at all because my ring finger kept catching the string because it was too long (i still haven't perfected it, but i'm getting there). Just grow out your fingernails and experiment with 2 and 3 finger tremolo until you nail it. Also start slowly, and learn to build speed with your fingers. Songs like Asturias by Isaac Albeniz are good to practice alternating finger speed :) Hope this helps you
Great lesson! Very useful! Can you please explain how to deal with the mordente during the tremolo, like in mesure 11 of Recuerdos? I find the right hand very difficult here Thank you!
Sorcery. It's sorcery, I tell ya. I can do it. I always have been able to from playing rock and metal and pop. But I can't get that buttery smooth classical sound to mine. I don't have as much control over the individual parts. Ana Vidović has a video of a song like this and it's why I went looking for how to do it. I can't believe you're giving away such a great lesson for free.
The artist, Liona Boyd, who arguably once had " the best tremolo in the business" now has focal dystonia in the fourth finger of her right hand, possibly brought on by too much repetitive practicing of the same thing. The culprit is likely too much repetitive playing and practicing of tremolos over a period of many years. Fortunately, she still has a career in music but like she says, " the Bach Chaconne is now gone" from her repertoire and so is the beautiful Recuerdos de la Alhambra. So, one should be cautious of over practicing or playing of repetitive notes. Her recordings are available on UA-cam and I urge everybody to to listen to how exquisitely she executes tremolos in her recording of Recuerdos de la Alhambra. Musicians often lose sight of how important it is to give their fingers proper periods of rest. Be warned.
Thanks. Now I know why my attempts at tremolo sound lop sided and will try swinging the rhythm like you suggest. I didn't know tremolo could also be played on the middle strings, but I won't try that just yet...I'd be happy to just play it bearably well on the high E string. Good teaching style.
Could you please contrast the pami pami tremolo with pmim pimi. I believe Ana Vidovic uses the latter in her Recuerdos video. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Thanks for the lessons they are excellent. Please can we have a Rasgueado lesson. Your thumb middle finger technique is so good. I have been struggling with triplet strumming for a year and it is defeating me. Thanks
I was extremely good at tremolo until I was stabbed in the right fingers fighting to keep an attacker from cutting my throat, it did not heal well, fingers are very stiff when trying to play, the injury left me with what is called "trigger finger" on all my fingers on my right hand, also I have rheumatoid which has gotten worse due to my age. I really miss playing classical guitar. Do you have any suggestions how I can overcome this tremolo disability?
there are many different sequence of RH tremolo fingering . eg. p , i.m.a. : p, m.a. i. or p. ch,a.m.i. (for flamenco tremolo). if ones can master those difficult motion of RH fingering....then naturally, p.a.m.i is the easiest tremolo to play.
Your Way of teaching is the best I have seen in classical music, thank you so much, I’m 67 years old, and I’m trying to learn just the basic of classical guitar
Thank you.. and it is very calming when u explain it slowly with the tremolo bgm.. also in the end you try to show us the way how to find the truth inside ourselves.. :) . It is almost like listening to a preacher in the church when ur life is upsidedown. Thank you so much. Love from Indonesia

He's so goddamn good at guitar he has to concentrate to play it wrong.
Actually it is even harder to play "wrong" in the very specific ways he uses to demonstrate how we who play with two lead thumbs do it.
