I still think Elizabeth Olsen should be bigger than she is. Her performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene is the best work of an actress under 30 this century.
People who make it big sell their soul for Hollywood, she knows what was done to Mary-Kate and Ashley, promise you, she’ll never make it big and good for her!
I fully agree 100%. Deserves way more credit that what’s she’s already getting. She is super talent and other words just can’t describe how everything she is.
My favorite Lizzie interview. I got to know her more on this and I've been noticing Lizzie touching her rings during interviews and rolling them. At first I thought it was just a habit but whe she talked about her anxieties during this interview she was doing it as sort of a stimming thing to calm her self. I love you, Lizzie. I JUST WANNA GIVE YOU A BIG HUG
The one thing I will always appreciate about thorough actors like Elizabeth Olsen (and Keanu Reeves) are that they fully credit the delivery of their roles to those who guided them on screen or trained them behind the scenes. There's a humility that is rare in the entertainment industry which is fully present here and it's refreshing :)
A lot of people ask how you're able to get all these great interviews. In my humble opinion, and correct me if I'm wrong, I think you do get them because: you have empathy and can really understand what the other person is saying and pay attention to their answers patiently, making the follow up questions flow from the previous one organically; and because you have an inherent talent to know where to go next in the conversation without putting them off with wierd, rude or too personal questions... Keep it up! It is always a pleasure to see your work and to hear these stars talk like "normal" people who enjoy their jobs, as they should.
Word. Also his interviews allow the actors/actresses' to breathe (not get peppered with the same questions over and over again) and safely think aloud about what their own minds are thinking. It's almost like conversational therapy for the performer without any gimmicks.
Elizabeth Olsen is such a great actress, thank you DP 30 for the interview. I love all three Emma Stone interviews too, but in the Birdman one, it look like you knew that she was going to win big things! i really love that interview.
Another great interview. Olsen's intelligence comes through in her performance in Wind River. I doubt that I'll see 5 better performance by an actress this year. The only question is if Oscar considers her a Supporting Actress rather than a Lead Actress.
I already really like Olsen, but I liked her more and more as the interview went on. She gives great answers, seems smart and passionate and lovely to talk to.
As a former young blonde law enforcement officer, her portrayal was the most authentic I’ve ever seen. From her interactions and willingness to work with and ask for help from fellow law enforcement and field experts to working with the public when you’re a young outsider while still trying to retain your position of authority along with the empathy you have for these people you’ve sworn to help and protect was so authentic. It was mind-blowing to almost see myself in my early years in law enforcement on the screen in a way I’ve never seen before or since. Her performance was amazing.
Loved the quote she said, "Better figure something out because this isn't going to lead you nowhere if you're going to slack." I find it very inspiring, lol. Just freaking love this woman, can't wait to see her in the new Doctor Strange movie! ♥
Truly amazing interview! Elizabeth Olsen is an extremely talented actress. And, also seems like a very relatable, genuine person. And, hearing her speak of being and over-thinker....To say I relate, is an understatement....
I bought the movie (wind river) on DVD a few years ago and I definitely enjoyed the film, Elizabeth is such a true treasure to cinema and Jeremy Renner aswell as the other casts was amazing.i appreciate the video and the enjoyed the interview, David Poland did an awesome job. as a basketball fan who watch NBA games I definitely appreciate Elizabeth kinda giving a shout out to jrue and Justin holiday.
This movie was fucking great. I did not expect it to point towards such important issues in that justice system with all the jurisdiction bullshit that I read about after watching it.
In love. The videos on this channel are all a great watch. Thank you for making us feel comfortable while watching these great cinematic people feeling comfortable while talking about what they do and how they do it. These videos are always wonderful. Thank you for all the effort and art you put into making these videos. It is such a great experience! Keep it up!!
I have a sneaking suspicion that Elizabeth is perpetually losing out on parts to Rooney Mara (or perhaps getting overlooked because Mara is the go-to young, sophisticated, character actress). Which is a shame, cause there should be more room for both of them.
The "rule" she described where you are only allowed to shoot and not reload is not true. Like at all. I don't know why she'd even say that unless she was just badly misinformed by whoever taught her. The range makes the rules when it comes to rate of fire and movement. And why would you not be allowed to reload? What an odd statement.
It's a question. There were, what, 30 - 50 questions in this conversation? Sometimes, I am curious about whether it is fun. Sometimes I am curious if it is difficult. Sometimes I have to ask a similar question a few times to get to an answer that speaks to my intention. It's not like I write out questions and have "Is it fun?" on the list.

... and Mr. Bettany gets the most beautiful girls/women in his life. I mean being married to Jennifer Connelly and best friends with Elizabeth Olsen. My hat is off to you brother! ❤
After reading the synopsis for Wind River, this is the type of story which makes one think about the film's characters going into shops and doing normal things afterwards, which is a bad thing. Wind River's story is the same as many other stories, which is what makes this type of reaction a negative bias against the film; a story shouldn't make you think about the characters in the story using shopping malls and reading books afterwards REPLY
great movie but the gun fights were silly. It looked like people were getting shot by bazookas being thrown like 10ft from being shot. Took me out of the experience.
Zimba's Doom Corner The gun Jeremy Renner uses is a significantly powerful gun with 45-70 ammo. On top of that, his character reloads his own ammo with what appeared to be 500 grain. I’m a woman who shoots, and has some education in gun specs. But I would suggest you look online for the Wind River gun, and you’ll get a lot of information. The reputation of this gun is why it was used in Jurassic Park. So there is a lot more truth in those scenes than you might think.
Yep as the other response said, extremely powerful weapon that's designed for large game, and utilizing very heavy ammunition. What you see in the film is probably not that far off from what it would really look like.
She's the worst part of the movie. Acts literally, dymnamics is forced, and role not believable. And God - with SHERIDAN's script, now that's difficult. Her not knowing what being natural is & the irritatingly forced camera movements (except shootout) made the film notably worse. Pity. Story, plot, brilliant dialogues, all superb...
I'm not sure She understands the Seriousness and Depth of a movie like Wind River compared to that Marvel garbage or a comedy. She did very well in Wind River and hope that she can be selective enough to weed out the sci-fi-Fantasy-Marvel-comedy garbage that Hollywierd usually manufactures.
I still think Elizabeth Olsen should be bigger than she is. Her performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene is the best work of an actress under 30 this century.

Fantastic interview. Elizabeth Olsen is just as lovely as she is talented. She was great in Wind River.
Such a smooth voice, I'm melting
She has a beautiful and powerful voice, she should do voice over for games imo
CrissCHG Yeah or audio books.
CrissCHG Very similar to Maggie Gyllenhaal's. Calm, but powerful.
I’d say the way she speaks is comparable to Natalie Portman

And DP listens. He edits these interviews with time to breath. The pauses reveal almost as much as what is said. There is nothing canned.
Word. Also his interviews allow the actors/actresses' to breathe (not get peppered with the same questions over and over again) and safely think aloud about what their own minds are thinking. It's almost like conversational therapy for the performer without any gimmicks.
I love her. I know her since age of ultron and now I rewatched every movie shes been in and every movie. she is one of not many reasons to live:)
She is just so wholesome. She is, imo, one of the best actress alive, and also, without knowing her personally, I just know she's a nice person.
