  • This week’s Game Changer on “Americas Now” profiles a young woman with a genetic disorder who became a self-taught fashion designer. She creates clothes for kids with Down syndrome whose bodies don’t fit into traditional sizes.
From Guatemala, we introduce you to Isabella Springmuhl Tejada.
People born with Down syndrome often face physical and mental challenges and are frequently underestimated and discriminated against. But many lead happy and productive lives.
Isabella is one such woman. Not only is she breaking barriers as a force in the fashion world, she is also honoring the culture of her country by using traditional Guatemalan fabrics for her designs. Her work has been showcased in several Latin American countries.
Check out this week’s Game Changer… Fashionista Isabella Springmuhl Tejada who is proof that “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
