this is so incredible. I remember putting flowers on Tal Henry’s grave back in 2021 and playing his compositions by the grave. I love him so much! Same name!!
notice around 0:38 the string player (seems to be a large mandolin) pretends it’s a gun with such a glorious grin. His singing is great in Shame On You. Wish i could have visited with him and shared a pall mall.
The clarinetist at the 0:50 minute mark looks and sounds a lot like a very young Artie Shaw. I can't find any personnel listing for this short to confirm that but ......
This is where all the Jazz Dorks lose me. Arent these improvised noodlings all "jazz" in the modern day useage in that they are improvisitory ? Certainly they are jazz in the meaning of the day, simply it's syncopated, and with some flatted notes. Sorry Jazz Dorks.

Goodness, those two soloists really kill it! Sounds like a great band to me.

Good point. It looks and sounds not unlike Artie Shaw.
@@rogerkent7577 Artie would have been 19 and it really does look like him.
I'm 95% shure it's Artie Shaw, although he was playing sax during this time and only later switched to clarinet.
Brilliant!
This is pretty good. I'm impressed.
Thank you 😊!
Brilliant !! Thank you for sharing.
Bravo Bravo ❤
Fine!
Fantastic! Marvellous! A sync sound film from 1929!
Vitaphone. Was that the system that used 33 1/3 rpm discs for the sound, in sync with the picture?
Yep, that's the one.
i’m actually angry stages don’t look like this anymore LOL
I'm gettin a Doctor Phibes vibe...
