Imagine you are Ella Fitzallen.
Imagine you’re working for minimum wage, that you’ve failed at school, and have lost everyone you love.
Imagine that it’s Christmas eve, a terrifying woman in a smart suit is stalking the streets of London, stealing souls, and you’re the next person on her Christmas list.
Imagine you meet a man who’s over 2000 years old, and has a box that’s bigger on the inside.
When you’re only just hanging on to your place in the world, what could that man and that box do for you?

A huge shout out to everyone who's worked so hard to make this episode what it is - actors, sound editors, composers, and artists. And thank you everyone who's come to check the episode out, we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. There is more to come, and we're very excited to share it with you!
"Dimensional engineering!"
"Is that meant to mean something?"
"Probably."
Incredible work by the cast and crew - Guillaume Babey and Laura Selwood shine in the lead roles and bounce off each other beautifully, Rose Derk's a wonderful villain, and the supporting cast are a delight. Kevin Burnard's created a gorgeous soundscape, and Dillon O'Hara, Jack Guidera and Studio Gallifrey nailed it with the score. Thank you all so much, as a writer it's quite something to hear your work brought to life so vividly.
These are incredible! Capaldi's my favorite and i'm ecstatic to hear more of his Doctor!
Great work!
Thank you so much! We hope you keep on enjoying the series!
A fab Christmas episode and a wonderful start to the 12th Doctor's new adventures! Really enjoyed this, looking forward to future episodes, the characters were so well developed, acting, writing and sound design great across the board. Well done to you all! :D
Loved this! Especially Ella - she's such a wonderful character, so rich and complex already, and a stunning performance by Laura :)
I'm a kinda new fan of your audiobooks. But I've gotta say that I really enjoy them. The voices are so good and I love the soundtracks/background sounds also so much. The writing is so brilliant as well. Really few intresting storys!
Thank you so much for your work. :)
Thank you so much for the kind words, they mean a lot!
A pleasure to be part of this series and amazed at all the talents working on it!!
A wonderful Christmas tale!
well done, very enjoyable...
good use of sci-fi to address seasonal emotional/mental health issues in a bit more imaginative yet practical way.
-hope this has served many to connect & escape a little from any downtime in the holiday season..
Thank you!
What a solid production, and the writing and characters were well executed! Ella is a genuine companion, too. Cannot wait to hear more.
Really, really enjoyable thanks! This was a very touching story, moved and well produced overall. Glad also to be in one of the later stories too!

A wonderful story. I love Capaldy's play.
Thank you!
The seventh and the twelth were my doctors. I adore Big Finish and am ever-so pleased I've discvovered your work. I look forward too hearing the rest. Kudos, to you!
That's a really lovely comment, thank you so much! We hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
this is really very good.
Thank you so much! The kind comments mean so much!
I loved it! A very good premise with some real heart, a particularly lovely performance from Laura Selwood as Ella Fitzallen as the glue that holds it all together, and various fizzing gems of dialogue (too many to list). It shares clear DNA with the RTD/Moffat approaches to Doctor Who (I like that there’s a lot of grounded material realism with a healthy dollop of magic) but is also v much its own thing & unfolds slightly differently to TV and BF house styles - I think Elizabeth Sandifer once described this phenomenon as “speaking Doctor Who fluently, but with a charming accent you haven’t heard before”. Oh and the music was superb as well - I got proper goosebumps at a couple of remixes of certain themes. Great work all round! Looking forward to the next one!
This comment is still utterly heartwarming to read a week later, thank you so much for the glowing review!
Man I loved this. Thank you
That's very kind, thank you so much!
Lovely story!
Thank you very much!
Really great job, I enjoyed listening to this very much!!
Thank you very much, that means a lot!
Very good!
Thank you!
Absolutely lovely! What's “Recently, I was finally able to face up to a goodbye I’d been putting off for a long time” a reference to? I might be missing something obvious but I can't seem to figure it out. …Oh, hang on, is that about River?
Yes, that's River! He talks about it at the end :)
That reaper would have a field day with me, after the last 2 years I've been through. Painful as _~bleeping bleepety bleep~_ to listen to.
Still, good story. Wish I could have a happy ending.
Thank for the kind words about the episode, it means a lot. So sorry you've had such a rough time of it. Be as kind to yourself as you can, we're wishing you all the best 🫂
With 12th doctor everything and everyone is faulty
Have you thought about trying Doctor Who/StarTrek the next generation in assimilation number two
Afraid we don't do tie-in adaptations, but if you enjoy that type of thing, we thoroughly recommend checking out Security Kitchen productions, who do excellent VNA adaptations, and TT productions, who are doing wonderful adaptations of the Adventure games!
