The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power honest reviews are out and they are FAR worse than I ever expected. Critics normally fawn over this stuff just like they have on rotten tomatoes, but even Entertainment Weekly who have marketing Rings of Power for MONTHS ripped it apart. What do you think of the reviews so far? Did you expect they would be this scathing about the first 2 episodes of Rings of Power? Let me know your thoughts down below, and as always, thanks for watching :)
The EW review blew me away and its a hilarious brutal burn (everyone should read it), but it did gain the publication some credentials with me. Despite all the access and flattering Amazon laid on them, in the end, when it was time to do their job, they did. BIG burn and wish other large media would follow suit. Daily Mail was another.
I personally think they are starting to read the room and are getting out in front of it. If it fails, they want to blame it on anything other than them being disloyal to the source material and hostility toward the fans, and are planting the seed now.
The World has changed, I feel it in the water, I feel it in the Earth. I smell it in the air. It began with the forging of the great books. Ideas were given to J.R.R Tolkien, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Film rights were granted to Jackson, great miner and craftsman of the mountain of lore. And nine, nine hours were gifted to the race of men, who above all else, desire quality and honesty. But they were all of them deceived, for another show was made. In the Land of Amazon, in the fires of Mount Prime, the Dark Lord Bezos forged in secret a massive flop. And into this show he poured his money, his malice and his will to dominate all shows. One show to ruin them all, one show to bind them, in the Land of Amazon where the shadows lie.
Peter Jackson, interviewed in GreenCine December 2002: "There are certainly themes Tolkien felt were important. We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren't going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. What we were trying to do was to analyze what was important to Tolkien and to try to honor that. In a way, were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves." Lindsey Weber, Executive Producer of Amazon's "Rings of Power", interviewed in Vanity Fair February 2022: "It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien's work would reflect what the world actually looks like." I think, that tells it all.
"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right" -George orwell, 1984
@@McRino1 Well he did not SAID it but it's a rewrote short quote from Frodo in the return le the king. So i guess he totaly agreed with it. Poor sad boy. You can go and cry somewhere else now. I won't judge. Lol "The shadow canot make not real new things on it's own. I don't think it gave life to the orcs. It only ruined and twisted them." Enjoy. :)
Tolkien had a whole world with mythology, history, languages and lore. For lovers of Tolkien, this 'adaptation' is an abomination. "Into the pit from whence you came".
Indeed. However, Bezos would likely respond to this by quoting the Great Goblin's line from a deleted scene of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' (btw, as much as some dislike the Peter Jackson Hobbit trilogy, I honestly thought, among other things, that it made the Great Goblin into an awesome minor villain): "Abominations, mutations, deviations; That's all you're gonna find down here (In 'The Rings of Power')."
Oui, each race in Tolkien's books has a detailed origin, and they have their own distinct physical characteristics. If you need actors with different looks from the original, then what you should do is create new races and new characters like fanarts, not assign them to play characters of existing races.
@@chenhaohe6813 tbh that doesn’t really matter to me. There can be black dwarves, hobbits, elves etc. the real issue is that the story and writing are bad.
My favorite scene was when Galadriel lifted up two swords and said "And I am all of the Jedi" as she stabbed Sauron in the balls. Truly a tv series on Amazon. One of the shows of all time
it was a cultural smorgasbord of eminence. it redefined cinema..nay, it redefined HUMANS how can i watch something else, without being disappointed? that is the problem with perfection. it can only go downhil from there.
I loved the scene were Sauron asked Optimus Prime "is that an big wrench in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" I cried, so stunning and brave.
The most chilling scene to me was when the witch king of angmar informed sauron that steiner didn't attack, and then sauron shouted "DAS WAR EIN BEFEHL"
As someone who's read the Silmarillion many times, this whole thing makes me ill. The only good thing about it is the fans standing strong against it and the videos about it taking the piss.
@@thevillageyid These two tales are part of the Silmarillion. Also, Beren and Lúthien, The Children of Húrin and The Fall of Gondolin are like all connected in a way, and its amazing (Personally I really love the Children of Húrin tale). I always pictured them as a trilogy.
"Bezos spent his energy in envy and hate, until at last he could make nothing save in mockery of the thought of others; and all their works he destroyed if he could." - J.R.R. Tolkien.
The best part is when Galadriel gets herself captured (on purpose, of course) and she's like: "None of you seem to understand. I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me!". 10/10 Yas queen slay!
It boggles my mind how they can fuck this show up. Galadriel from LOTR is one of the most powerful female characters I've ever seen on screen. Like her scene from Fellowship with Frodo still gives me chills. And then you give us THIS wannabe? It's like they think the only way a female can be strong is if they can swing a sword.
She is the most powerful elf left in Middle-Earth, born several thousand years ago in Valinor during the time of the Two Trees where she could hobnob with minor deities. Her kingdom of Lothlorien was modeled after Melian’s girdle of Doriath being somewhat hidden. Her power was wisdom and foresight not swordsmanship and acrobatics.
It's simply robbery, as well as a reskin. They steal the IP and hollowed the original identity ie the essence of the entire epic, then they even tear the skin they stole apart, resew it, dyed and put makeup on it.
It's pathetic. To them, "strong whamen" is just making their women act like men. Meanwhile, they robbed her of what made her so impressive and powerful in the actual material: wisdom, discipline/strength of will, leadership, ethereal femininity, not needing to swing a sword to exercise her power, etc.
@@thepewplace1370 They miss what Elves and elven magic were in Tolkien. Elves were of Arda and bound to Arda. Arda was created in song. Finrod and Luthien battle through song. Their magic thus can influence the physical makeup of Arda to an extent. Feanor’s palantir and Galadriel’s mirror allowed you to see across distance and time on Arda. They weren’t anime acrobatic swashbucklers.
@@knotengajin7359 they are so single minded as to think strength can only be applied through physical force, which isn't even true in our world, let alone Tolkien's
When galadriel stood on her horse and starting riding it like a surfboard proceeding to say "it's gil galadin time" I truly felt it. One of the shows ever.
@@MsFingolfin Links aren't allowed, look up tom shippey is out at amazon. Was not 100% confirmed and the reason was also not 100% confirmed. (As far as I am aware) Also I don't think asking for proof is bad, but this is not hard to find.
The Lord of the Rings was deeply rooted in Anglo-Saxon history and mythology. Tolkien was a professor of Anglo-Saxon history and had a deep love and knowledge of his subject. He stayed true to the roots of this culture and that is where the magic lies. European folklore is in our DNA and that is why Lord of the Rings was so stirring. Messing with this ancient blend of history and mythology strips it of its authenticity and as a result its magic.
We watch Shakespeare in the park with invisible props and love it. We listen to books on tape and nothing but a disembodied voice can transport us to another world. Great visuals are meaningless if the story isn't any good.
Hell, video games have proven this point over and over and over again. There are games that haven’t aged well visually or just have absolutely hideous art direction and yet are some of the most entertaining experiences I’ve ever had.
Exactly. They used pepper shakers on the first Star Trek and computers did not exist so there is no great CGI on the show... but I'll watch Trouble with Tribbles over anything they produce today, without a doubt, and loving the story because they made me believe, for one hour, that they were really on a space station. The magic of theater ... of acting, real acting, is that the actor can grab our imaginations and we are transported. WE forget our realities, we forget this world... even our pains..
When Guyladrrriel stood up to address the diverse Numeroneans she prefaced her speech with an audible fart. Her first words to the crowd were "There was a tempest in me." So stunning and brave.
Elrond screaming from the top of his lungs: There are too many mothereffing orcs in this mothereffing plane... so much emotion you can really feel like you're in the plane
"I fart in your general direction!" said Grrrladriel, mighty and fairest of all elves. "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!"
@@Madonnalitta1 are you trying to correct his obvious joke spelling of Galadriel? Tends to pay if you make sure your correction is actually, well, correct.
I really seriously think that if the Koreans had the rights to LOTR, they would have made a better show. Their movie and TV industry is really very sophisticated nowadays, and sometimes it surpasses Hollywood.
The part when Elrond proclaimed, “Be excellent to each other!” and Sauron added, “Party on, dude!” and then Galadriel retorted, screaming “This… is… SPARTA!” and morbed them into the pit was breathtaking! Tolkien could not have even done it better!
I adored the flashback that showed Eru Himself throwing sand into the eyes of Ar-Pharazon and his army, before he sunk him, his fleet and Numenor into the ocean with the power his sick dancing. Him capping it off with "Stings, doesn't it?" was the icing on the cake. I was moved to tears.
I will never forgive turning one of my favorite female characters, who never resorted to the sword, who learned at the knee of Melian the Maia, who passed the ultimate test of will which Gandalf himself feared and avoided, into Xena warrior princess in dollar store armor. A dirty litter box, in a dumpster, that is on fire, floating down a shite stained river?
Galadriel is stated to have taken part in a number of wars and fights, and often well-before he could make much use of her ring. I've seen the arguments and references, and the best we can say is they're unclear. She was there in SOME capacity inarguably. She is also described many, many times by Tolkien as athletic and valiant. Which of course isn't the same as 'handy with a sword', but she is also described as joining in with physical games and contests in her 'youth'. And she is thirteen hundred years old. I will happily grant that she probably never focused to any great degree on swordsmanship, but when you have thirteen hundred years that's a lot of time to pick stuff up. Galadriel is not going to be some wilting flower when some guys want to have a fencing match... she's rather obviously going to want to join in. She is universally described as wise but not afraid of combat and involved in combat, so that pretty much does necessitate some familiarity with arms and armour, because charging into combat with NO familiarity is FOOLISH, even if you are really wizardy. And remember that Gandalf himself was handy with a sword. It's not alien to wizards to learn such things. Occam's Razor seems to suggest that there's scant evidence to suggest she's a 'warrior queen' the way the Amazon show wants to depict her, but also scant evidence to suggest she 'never touched a sword' as others want to claim. The truth is almost certainly in the middle. I'm sure she spent a few years learning swordsmanship (and a few years isn't much to an elf), just as she probably spent time familiarizing herself with bows, daggers, and anything else her troops would be using. If nothing else, she is described as a commander and wanting to lead a people, and a wise commander would understand the capabilities of her troops and be able to hold her own in the back of the army if not the front.
When Cirdan the shipwright says after a long journey at sea, "I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", classic, meta, intense. Or when the female orc boss, after slaying an elf, says, "Leave the sword. Take the canoli". . . transcends culture and time in one fell swoop. Daring and brilliant.
When Galadriel and Míriel kissed and Chief Brody said, "You're gonna need a bigger ship", my Sting turned blue with envy -- truly om-nom-Namárie delicious.
After the Balrog awoke in nearby Khazad-dûm, Nimrodel grew uneasy in Lórien so She fled, and made her way to the edge of Fangorn Forest, but could not enter it. Thats when Amroth found her and said “I’m getting Too old for this shit Riggs”….. I was dazzled… a tear ran down my cheek… Stunning… Brave… Pure…. Just like a Giraffes Black tongue glistening in the moonlight of Endor…. on this night there be a nocturnal emission upon Saurons own Hanes “Tag Free” boxer briefs….
When Galadriel watched in horror as the blue-haired female(?) zombie hoard began ripping Luke Skywalker, the Terminator and Dr. Who apart while Captain America was telling her, “RUN!” I got chills because I knew shit was going DOWN. And then I was out of my seat when Kevin Fiege appeared and said, “Its Morbin time!”
What Amazon did not expect is that Tolkien fans are educated, intelligent readers, deeply rooted to Tolkien's creations. It is like wanting to change the religion of a devotee. The Lord of the Rings is not just fantasy, it is the representation of the good overcoming the evil that surrounds the world... and therefore all this seems to me to be a great irony.
@Roberto Biagio Randazzo I wasn't judging your taste in books, it just seemed a bit odd your 2 favourite Tolkien Middle Earth books are the Hobbit and the Silmarillion and you never finished the LoTR books, is all I was saying
And ironically, Eowyn's line in Peter Jackson's Return of the King , ''I am no man!!'' as she defeats the Witch-King of Angmar, as simple as it is, just hits so hard. Masterful storytellinng and appropriate context can move mountains.
@@rigelb9025 honestly even that was pretty awful. I know it’s trendy to go “this thing unequivocally bad that thing unequivocally good” but that line absolutely foul-tarnished an otherwise pretty good scene. Though it’s debatable how well it was set up and executed as it’s supposed to be one of the big comes of the movie.
@@virtueofabsolution7641 What? She says that because the Witch King has an entire prophecy about not being killed by a man. It's one the thematic points in the movie. The bad guys think they are invincible and underestimate the little guys. Witch king underestimates a Hobbit and a woman, Sauron underestimates the Hobbits and Gollum.
The Times: "Despite the inventiveness that the creators have had to deploy to populate Tolkien’s world with fresh, non-canonical characters, the whole thing has the vibe of terrified executives carrying an exceedingly expensive vase across a slippery floor." LOL.
Tolkeen wanted to copy child stories in his work like when he wrote the following; Sauron changed into a werewolf and knocked the doors to Moria saying,"Little Pig, Little Pig let me in", to which his favorite character Disa replied,"not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!"
The fact that just about the entire cast preached how proud they are about how they all injected modern politics into the show just proves that they haven’t read and/or don’t understand Tolkiens work.
They don't care about Tolkiens workand never did, there is no attempt to honour his legacy , it's just another franchise they can "improve" with the message, this series is going to make a lot of careers mainly for youtube commentors and not for the stars of the show.
I loved how Princess Disa whispered in her husband's ear "I'm the first female dwarf on screen". To which he replied "Huh, sorry honey but there were about 6-7 female dwarfs seen before your character was first seen on screen". That was priceless! She's not even the first female dwarf on screen in her own series.
@@polkaking237 Yep, so it's pretty narcistic of her making such claims. And it's also quite ironic since she's not even the 1st female dwarf in her own series. Before we see her appear on screen for her first time, we saw a few female dwarfs before her. So, the irony is strong with this one.
@@SKnight1968 Same thing about the whole "females in action movies" business with Marvel and Bree Larson. Like fuck Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor I guess?
@@TheOriginal_Unaleska Agreed! Disparu you have been absolutely killing it lately with your RoP coverage! Keep on hustling and I think you'll be over 100k soon. What I have appreciated in particular is the detail in which you have broken down the corporate shill narratives. You get into their thinly disguised motivations, you expose the spin and the absurdity of their underlying ideology, and explain the nuanced arguments of why fans of Tolkien don't like this. Keep it up! I suggest collaborating with George The Giant Slayer sometime, since 1) you two will both be covering this extensively anyways 2) you're both pretty passionate and eloquent about this topic in particular and 3) you're both relatively new youtubers. You newer content creators don't always have to go on the bigger channels when there's loads of other guests on them as well, and I think you could draw a lot of people in just because both of you crush in your coverage of this topic. And I like seeing loads of competition in this vidya niche as a spectator. 😉
Good suggestion cooperating with the George the Giant Slayer...it would be more interesting and entertaining if there are just the two of you instead of 4 or 5 with the Drinker because there is a better dynamic and each of you gets more time to talk

You are shallow my friend. The part where she made the ship turn and lured Captain America's ship into the Devil's Triangle is the best part. Strong female captain.
When guyladriel threw sauron off Nakatomi Plaza and as he fell he said "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die." And she replied, "get away from her you b1 tch!" I literally died.
My favorite part is when Smeagol's unknown sister, Logaems, entered the opening scene and killed it with the iconic line, _"This is my boomstick!"_ The _Turds of Powah_ has positively, absolutely given my small bigoted mind explosive diarrhea with its astronomically profound writing!
A lot of the critics had no other choice than being honest. There is so much scrutiny on this that it'll be obvious if they lie and they lose all credibility.
I'm already set to burn anyone who gave the fake reviews they were paid to, and anyone who praises this deserves the same. Just waiting for Chris Cuckmann to come out and praise it and shred the last bits of his credibility.
Most critics have lost all credibility a long time ago... when you see how they keep being completely not in phase with the audience reviews afterwards on Rotten Tomatoes. They're just useless today.
I loved the part when everyone bowed down to Sauron, including the dark lord Bezos and he placed a ring of power on each one of their fingers and handed them each a glass of a wine and said "Drink, this is my blood."
It really hurts as a Tolkien Fan. I want to love it. I want to love the amazing and beautiful cinematography. Which I do. However, I cannot ignore at the same time, the horrid writing, the horrid portrayal of chars, the horrid lore changes, and the horrid betrayal towards Tolkein. I almost wish everyone was silent, and I just got to see the cities, boats, mountains, etc. And that was it. At this point, that would of made a better show than what I watched.
Somehow, Peter Jackson's take on Tolkien was far more forgiven despite how he directly ignored the source material, or fully went against it. Rings of Power is based on more flexible source material, and it can take a lot more liberties. Let's face it. Most of the criticism was, to put it bluntly, simply racist.
@@TangiersIntrigue Because he didn't betray chars. outright. Despite making gimli more comical, he didn't betray him completely. A Galadriel who should be married already, and have a daughter. When he fought in the wars, and experienced some of the worst tragedy in Tolkein lore. That is why. Viggo Mortenson was probably the best casting choice for Aragon. Eowyn was played to a tee and was inspiring. Elrond was very much Elrond. Yes was it stupid Aragon didn't have his sword the whole time, or that Arwen replaced Gil-galad. ABSOLUTELY. However, the other choices like ghosts on the pelennor fields are understandable because they are movies and have shorter times. If we had Aragon going around collecting all the lords and fiefdoms to save Minas Tirith, we would of had a whole other movie or two. And monetary wise, they just couldn't pay for that all.
@@TangiersIntrigue I am black. Focusing on a characters skin instead of, you know, their character, is a recipe for disaster. It's not racism. What is racist is saying that you cannot identify with people of other skin colors. What is racist is comparing black people to orcs. Gtfo.
You know you've lost the mainstream when Entertainment Weekly feels free to not be nice to your show. I think even mainstream sources feel free to not be nice to the show because they've read the room and know that people clearly aren't buying what the creators of the show are selling and that they'll lose credibility if they don't tell it like it is, so I guess you and I have reached the same conclusion.

That’s what I found interesting. The bad reviews specifically mention the bad writing and acting. The positive reviews are mainly “it’s visually amazing and spectacular” with no mention of the story.
@@whiplash1994 That's been the trend for last few years especially. Amazing production values, professional actors, and fantastic scores all wasted by inexperienced showrunners and incompetent writers who have little imagination and even smaller amounts of actual life experience.

I believe The Rings of Power is an excellent example of “The decline and fall of the “Hollywoke” empire” described by An American Spectator article published in February of this year. The author summed it up beautifully. “It is painful to watch an art form die, especially the most popular one in history. Cinema has enthralled more people, across every stratum of society, than all others combined…With an appreciative audience still awaiting, Hollywood might have outlasted the Roman Empire. But like Rome, it is rotting from the inside, sacked by leftist hacks who could never have built it.” Priceless!
And they didn't even mention the most inspirational part - when supreme warrior Galladrrrriel tore the Predators head off with her bare hands, shouted "GET TO THE CHOPPAH" to the not-hobbits, before stealing an F14 tomcat from a horde of maga-hat wearing orcs with posh british accents, taking off and defeating a squadron of Tie fighters, then flying back to the Battlestar Galactica to lead the search for the lost elven colony of earth. So timeless, so true to Tolkien, yet seamlessly improved for current year.
So its actually even worse than expected? I was expecting something like the sequel Star Wars trilogy, member berries that gradually turn into corporate madness sludge The show lacks cohesion and visual consistency (given the bloodless fights in one scene and the ultraviolent fights in another) even within its own cannon, not to mention Tolkien's. Some mainstream media breaking ranks like Entertainment Weekly calling it a Catastrophe and daily mail giving it a 1/10, and many normies from the free screening giving it mid tier scores, this shit is going to be Rise of Skywalker levels of bad, with the ironic memery of Morbius, it will be glorius. Like Guyladriel says in the trailer "THERE IS A TEMPEST WITHIN ME!!! A tempest of Memes!"
Even Jeremy Jans, a US citizen who doesn’t play culture wars and who (naturally) doesn’t come with a British sensibility, someone who normally has a positive take, the best he could say was that the first 2 episodes were boring and he didn’t think he’d review the rest. What is perplexing is that Amazon recently delivered the excellent Reacher and apparently has done well with The Boys. How could they drop the ball to this extent?
Finally some critics with the fortitude to tell the truth. The audience scores and comments are going to be amazing. Can’t wait for the script to flip on Amazon.

A point about Galadriel. Amazon seems to think that wielding a sword and fighting in an army is a whole lot better than seeing through the ruse of an immensely powerful dark sorcerer who is very adept at deceiving some of the most powerful beings in this universe. No offense to soldiers, but I think the latter is a little bit more impressive.
And if you think about it, the way they chose to depict this plotline in the show, there's literally no reason for Galadriel to be the only one who understands that Sauron is still out there, while everybody else is ready to move on. It doesn't make any sense. This is one of those shows where everything just is the way it is because the writers need/want it to be that way, and there is no deeper logic behind anything.
I’m so tired of powerful female characters being cheapened because the writers have such a narrow view of what makes someone powerful and strong, and actually think that doing kick-flips while holding a mega-sword is the only way a woman can prove her worth. Put a man and a woman together, and they’ll most likely have completely different skillsets, but both will be equally valuable. Modern writers don’t seem to understand this. Not to mention that in the original LOTR media, there were plenty of male characters who weren’t warriors, yet still proved to be vital in the takedown of Sauron (the Hobbits, Gandalf...), so this isn’t even really a gendered thing in this case, Tolkien simply believed that power didn’t always take the form of physical strength, and people actually thought that writers who didn’t understand that would make a good Tolkien show?? Just embarrassing, really... Oh, yeah, and Galadriel is awesome, what a wasted opportunity.
It seems modern hacktivist writers understand only one form of strength: physical. Galadriel’s strength had nothing to do with battle prowess, so Wokists can’t even comprehend it.
Oh man, that scene where Galadriel encourages Robert the Bruce to take charge of the Scottish rebelion and become king, only to Become queen of Scots instead (because we can't have male role models in these shows) was absolutely next level. The only thing to top that was Celebrimbor forging the rings of power out of Galadriel's sweat.
I'm almost certain that Sauron is going to say at some point "I will make a ring, a beautiful ring, a perfect ring... and I'll make the Elves, the Dwarves and the Humans pay for it"
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power honest reviews are out and they are FAR worse than I ever expected.
My expectations have been subverted.
*Sighs*

I’m kinda impressed entertainment weekly destroyed it completely apart

In a way, were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves."
Lindsey Weber, Executive Producer of Amazon's "Rings of Power", interviewed in Vanity Fair February 2022: "It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien's work would reflect what the world actually looks like."

However, Bezos would likely respond to this by quoting the Great Goblin's line from a deleted scene of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' (btw, as much as some dislike the Peter Jackson Hobbit trilogy, I honestly thought, among other things, that it made the Great Goblin into an awesome minor villain):

Oui, each race in Tolkien's books has a detailed origin, and they have their own distinct physical characteristics.

@@bearwoodian8607 no, the whole point was that she had inner strength.

@@bearwoodian8607 Go on then, give the example that disproves my statement.
When Durin asked Halbarad, “did you bump uglies with my sister?” I screamed preach it brother!

You newer content creators don't always have to go on the bigger channels when there's loads of other guests on them as well, and I think you could draw a lot of people in just because both of you crush in your coverage of this topic. And I like seeing loads of competition in this vidya niche as a spectator. 😉
Disparu is up there with critical drinker and itsagundam.
Agreed, Disparu's dissection of the industries latest foul smelling offerings has become more entertaining than the actual shows / movies.
Good suggestion cooperating with the George the Giant Slayer...it would be more interesting and entertaining if there are just the two of you instead of 4 or 5 with the Drinker because there is a better dynamic and each of you gets more time to talk
Well said, Andrew. Disparu has been juist KILLING it, lately. His insightful analysis is on point, eloquent and bitingly funny. He reminds me of a British George Carlin! (a bit).

When Galadriel said: "I'm the captain now!", and then jumped into the middle of an ocean left me speechless.
You are shallow my friend. The part where she made the ship turn and lured Captain America's ship into the Devil's Triangle is the best part. Strong female captain.
It gave me brain damage.
Time to die."
And she replied, "get away from her you b1 tch!"
I literally died.
My favorite part is when Smeagol's unknown sister, Logaems, entered the opening scene and killed it with the iconic line, _"This is my boomstick!"_
The _Turds of Powah_ has positively, absolutely given my small bigoted mind explosive diarrhea with its astronomically profound writing!
Oh yes.. we need a female gollum too now....
They did that having lesbian Frodo and Sam characters
It really hurts as a Tolkien Fan. I want to love it. I want to love the amazing and beautiful cinematography. Which I do. However, I cannot ignore at the same time, the horrid writing, the horrid portrayal of chars, the horrid lore changes, and the horrid betrayal towards Tolkein. I almost wish everyone was silent, and I just got to see the cities, boats, mountains, etc. And that was it. At this point, that would of made a better show than what I watched.
Same here it's a bitter disappointment thus series wasn't more faithful to Tolkien's lore world.
You haven't watched it yet and you already have an opinion. That's a definition of stupidity.
Is acting like a mary sue karen teenager. When she is thousands of years old.
Elrond gets shit on, for not know tragedy?
You got it!
Plus, while the "woke" movement isn't dead yet, it IS dying, and thus the EW people know they won't have as much to fear from writing a negative review of it now as they would have had if they wrote it a year or two ago.

Absolutely.
Facts. But that can't happen bc we obviously need women to prove they can do anything a man can do.
Hey, now. We can have male role models. We have an African American … I mean elf male who brings righteous wrath to Sauron and evil nazi critics.

I'm almost certain that Sauron is going to say at some point "I will make a ring, a beautiful ring, a perfect ring... and I'll make the Elves, the Dwarves and the Humans pay for it"
Galadriel: "it will be perfect... when it fits a woman!"
