The cigars are called "Original Krumme" from Villiger. The cigars on the back of the truck are for marketinreasons oversized.
Meanwhile the truck don´t exist anymore. The engine (MAN 6-in line and the ZF specialgearbox) is now installed in an american schoolbus with 10 seats and gave the passengers a lot of fun.
Meanwhile I am retired and the bus is in my workshop. It was a fantastic time - thanks to all my sponsors, teammates and the people who loved my vehicles.

Fun fact: the brakes on these race trucks generally are water cooled. As in: they spray water onto the brake disk during braking, because they would overheat otherwise.

There's a thing over there, where they drag race fully loaded - 120 000lbs or ~55 metric tonnes - truck and trailer combo's over a short distance! The chassis' torque so much they can be carring the left front a foot off the ground in 1st and 2nd gear.

The thing he's got (you thought it was a beer bottle at first) are Krumme Zigarren (Cigars bundled in 3-4 twisted into each other from a Swiss cigar manufacturer).
As far as I know, at least in the past, there was a rule for racing trucks that they could only use standard tires (i.e. commercially available tires) and no tires made for racing. Judging by the sound, this should also be the case.
Racing trucks, seen for a while similar to the DTM (German Touring Car Championship), absolutely spectacular.

One thing missing is the steam from the water cooling of the brakes typical of race trucks. This vehicle may be so stripped down as not to have water cooling for the brakes and for a short hill climb course get away with normal but big air cooled braking. The cab makes it look top heavy but the rear view shows the motor as low as possible between the bigger wheels.

That's quicker than a 2019 Dodge Charger R/T! Under hard braking the rear end becomes lighter so the rear end bounces making the rear tyres squeal and complain on every corner. Truck racing is a really cool thing to watch. Noise, smoke and tortured tyres. What else do you need?

Alloy wheels etc for weight reduction. They also would have had water jets cooling the brakes in races but I don't see steam coming from the front brakes, they likely deleted the water tanks (another 200/300kg) probably due to the lower speeds.

There's specific reason mentioning 7.5t - in Europe you have 2 different truck driving licence categories. One's for full time big trucks, other's for small van-type trucks (up to 7.5 tons). If you fancy, I'll elaborate.

That's in the race series anyway....This truck will have to comply with that if it races. @Cvokarium Doesn't really matter since neither of them was specifically built for hillclimbing. One is a pure track racing machine and the other an off-road racer, so apples and oranges.

These trucks have interresting brake cooling system, you have to watch the temperature and if they get hot, wich they do after every corner, you have to use a button to spray water directly on the brakes

This race truck has NOTHING more in common with its streetlegal counterpart. It is, just like a Nascar, just looking like a streetlegal car/truck. Check out videos that explain these trucks in detail, you'll be amazed.

Check out the aircraft turbine powered Swiss tunnel firefighting vehicle, please!
Someone took an aircraft turbine engine, mounted it on the back of a big lorry, surrounded it with water nozzles and planned to put it at one end of the tunnel to blow water through the tunnel during a fire...
Check out the gas turbine dragster tractor trucks that are made too.
There's also a 360 camera video following a WRC car with a Ferrari engine that us worth a look.

If it's anything like most FIA racing trucks it will be limited to 100mph with water cooled disk brakes all round. And I think that's meant to be a cigar on the back.

I mean 5800 torque? It could clime a vertical wall. Most of it's weight would be the engine and fuel. I am wondering if it started chirping the tires because it has used a lot of it's fuel and is getting lighter.
