Afuna Ulape

The song called Afuna Ulape was composed by Lloyd Phiri in 1998. It was recorded in 2000 and released in 2001. The song was voted as the best song of the year 2001 national wide. Lloyd Phiri became a household name in Malawi since his first album in 2000. The first album was called Musagwedezeke . From that album , the Afuna Ulape became so popular and famous. It was released on a cassette.

He is the first Malawian musician to record live concert on stage which was released on a DVD in 2007. He learnt studio production in UK Bolton, where he went to perform his music as well as to do a school of Theology.
Lloyd Phiri is an evangelist who spreads the WORD of God everywhere . He performs live in Prisons, Rural areas, and urban places.
Through his studio, Lloyd Phiri has promoted numerous musicians and he has offered free lessons to many, on how to do studio work.
Lloyd Phiri is a born again Christian, received Jesus Christ in 1997.
