Lecrae Loses Tour Date After Sharing Comments About 'Politicized' Christianity

- Grammy Awarding-winning hip hop artist Lecrae says he lost an upcoming show performance after expressing his thoughts about the "institutional" and "politicized" version of Christianity in a tweet.
"Once upon a time I thought I was done with Christianity. But the reality was I was just done with the institutional, corporatized, gentrified, politicized, culturally exclusive version of it," Lecrae wrote on Tuesday.

The longer I am a Christian the more and more I want to distance myself from any type of politics at all. It's ruining the church.
We aren't supposed to be divided and if politics is dividing us then we should let it go.

God bless Lecrae I’m not really sure what to think of him. Sometimes I agree with him other times I disagree with him. I Had to realize His music is inspirational rap NOT necessarily Christian rap.
All these comments prove his point. He says he’s against Racism and Police brutality. How can “Christians” disagree on those issues? Those seem to be straightforward issues. What’s the problem? Is it a left vs right?

Yea i use to rock with him (his first couple of albums) but he started losing me on his "church clothes," album. Ever since then, I stopped supporting him. He seems weak in his Christian convictions nowadays

I used to follow Lecrae years ago, and the Holy spirit guided me to unfollow and stop listening to his music. I understand his perspective however, I do believe he has compromised a part of his lifestyle/ideals and has become more apart of the world rather than that of a follower of Christ. I could be wrong as I only see what’s on social media, what he says on twitter etc, but ….. 🤷🏻♀️ I just stopped listening to him altogether.

The whole Evangelical movement is a mess right now because of political preaching. I’m not into Christian Rap, but he’s spot on in this interview.

@@philiptemidara9456 btw, I newly started attending church again after a very long time and the disappointment lecrae talks about is so real. Heresy is proudly adopted in about half the churches I attend and they’re not concerned about correcting it. I’ve been asked to leave when I point it out

Pray that LaCrae will be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit and have a TRUE relationship with God. We can't go off of what our carnal mind THINKS. Our mind can only be renewed and our heart and life transformed by the Holy Spirit. Head knowledge won't get us anywhere in God.
This fallacy is common and has been throughout the ages. But we who are truly renewed with the mind of Christ and hold to the faith of Christ, by prayerfully seeking daily infilling with the Holy Spirit of Christ are further equipped and fully armed against every satanic temptation to sin against God and ourselves.
It's all about Jesus. He is the ultimate prize we must focus all our attention upon. Prayer for today and hope for tomorrow will empower the weak among us to be lifted out of the darkness they may grope in. Myself included.. Prayer in Jesus name works. Amen.

Our race is what is not sacred. I am tired of this new worship of skin color. Do we still have some issues in this country, yes. Is it as big as it is being made out to be, no. To act as if it is disgraces what the slaves, and those who suffered through Jim Crow went through. Some of us are still going through things. I didn’t see that at first, but I believe to a great degree it is a function of where and sometimes how you are living. Enemy then it is not necessarily race, but class. Race is often the distraction put before us, so we don’t see the way we have been divided into classes. I have experienced both in my life, but I have experienced class difference far more.

He’s talking about “the system” the same system that the Israelites had to have when they reached the other side of the Red Sea after their enemies had been defeated; the same system that Jesus Christ set All Of MANKIND free of; the system of religion and oppression; the system that another man’s god told him that EVERYONE should follow; it is the Christ inside,God alone that determines a man’s life and freedom. Every man on earth hears from the Christ within; he cannot hide from the Christ within , and Christ is the life; in, of and with ALL THINGS.
