    Love watching your guys' videos, decent mix of good driving and humor. It'd be good to see a video on line spotting and general Subi wheeling for those soft roaders! If y'all ever find yourself in Oregon I have multiple lifted Subi friends and a pretty capable Outback.

    Sweet outback reminded me of mine i lifted 3ins and offroaded. Always loved the looks you get in the woods with a subi. 🤣🤣

    What Subarus lack in low range, they make up for in light weight and body flex. But watching all that braking downhill kills me coming from a GRS2 Samurai background...I still thoroughly enjoy your efforts & exploits, not to mention your Jexus-esque production values. Taking second looks at my Crosstrek commuter car...

    Oof, you had me worried there for a while. Thought we were going to get through the entire video with all axles intact. So silly of me to doubt you. 😂😂 Glad you guys are back.

      Well you'll be saddened to hear that our axle breaking streak is on hiatus until we find a way to make the center transfer clutch strong enough to break them again. Happy to be back. Sitting on a substantial backlog of footage, so more to come soon.

    Nice vids guys . Iv got a 2002 subaru h6 Lancaster.. just wondering could I lock my center diff ..I watched your other vids just wondering if I could get some more knowledge on my car specs

    A gimbal AND what looks to be a SmallRig cage? You could say things are getting serious. Love that you're still keeping the channel's aesthetic!

      I think we've used the rig since 2018...it's probably saved the DSLR from destruction in the bush several times over. Time will tell how useful the gimbal proves to be, but it seems to work well despite being uber cheap, if not somewhat un-intuitive to operate.

      @@powerofyourbrains Yeah, gimbals can be finicky. I hope you can get it to work! I bought a name brand one years ago and was rewarded with out-of-the-box intuitive controls and simplicity. It works well. My trail buddy got a SUUUUPER cheap one. The controls are weird and there's a lot of gestures to memorize or it starts spinning randomly. It was infuriating deleting hours of garbage footage from the trips we'd taken.. But after some practice it works amazing. He was able to find the settings to fine tune pretty much everything. Worth all of the swears.

    Loved the video, they never disappoint👍🏼 I had a question about your fuel tank skid plate I know was on your old blue forester. I’m trying to make one but not sure where to mount it. Did you happen to have some pictures or advice for doing so?

      I think the subframe spacers gave them something to mount it on, I was trying to figure out the same thing. I just have strut tops and I’m not seeing a way to make it work
      While we’re asking questions- any vid/explanation on 4EAT front diff breathers?

      Agreed, for as much work as he's done beefing up the chassis he really shouldn't be riding bare...but I guess that's between a man and his Subaru to decide

      I just replaced oil pan on said outback so.... Yeah, skid plate needed :(

    After the axle change there is a dip where it looks like there is no power going to the rear wheels until after you get past the dip... Is the center diff/transfer clutch not engaging fully?

      It's engaging as fully as these MPTs do. We've found they're not able to transfer 100% torque. With the amount of traction we get having Torq Locker, and with all the weight on the rear wheels there, it wasn't surprising really. Try to avoid doing that too much as it means we are slipping the clutch under load, which is a good way to wear out the friction materials, though they are a wet clutch and should be able to take a fair bit of that. That MPT is currently the biggest limiter to our performance offroad. Contemplating either a laser cut piece to selectively fully lock that or a VTD swap. The amount of torque the VTD can transfer probably bears some more testing/modeling, though our previous testing (see vid) did indicate it can transfer more. If anyone can recommend a good software package for modeling the torque transfer through the VTD (gears and clutch), LMK.

      Another thing I wonder about breaking the axles, do you think maybe the long travel might be putting the axles into a position that makes them bind, and then break?
      I wonder if a adjustable height set of rollers for a wheel might be good for testing that out?
      That's really the only thing that makes sense to me, having been lucky enough to never have broken a Subaru axle in over half a million miles. Obviously mostly on pavement, but I have been known to cut a hard right off of a highway, when there is no fence to worry about, just to alleviate the tedium of long drives.

      @@aaronmyers4951 I'm pretty confident that long travel isn't a factor at all here. Blame rests entirely on our propensity to push the limits after having installed the locker. We never had problems with oem axles either. Most people with a locker will probably be fine as well...it's mainly us that's the problem

      @@pbz9044 I did read a thread of a Forester with a upgraded VTD, he added a plate to it to get a better lock of the clutch pack, I think its FujiNF on youtube but can't find his write up, maybe on subaruforester.org.       I am too. She's mostly homemade though...with axles that cost nearly double what the chassis did.
