- Despite Manor Lords originally being planned to release in 2023 Slavic Magic has wisely decided to delay Manor Lords back to 2024 with a release date of April 26th 2024. We also got to see a new trailer drop which is great to see how manor lords has revolved with time, it's such an impressive achievement how much has been achieved by 1 man, can't wait for the game to release :-D

It's a rare thing that a game of such calibre is developed by 1 person, even more so that such a game can generate so much attention and interest. Despite being desperate to play i'm pleased with the choice to delay the release its the right call in my opinion, what does everyone else think?
As long as we get better game we can wait - if its great/good game it will survive

I'm really looking forward to Manor Lords. Recently got into a new city builder game and I'm excited for more! Mix in the battles based on your current city and we have very interesting mix of game types. Like you said total war games have been lacking innovation for a long time and that has been one of the reasons I haven't played them for a long time.
i do wonder, what if they just somehow develop in parts. First completing the small village(survival and starting), then large village(dealing with raids and dealing with that), a town (having some dedicated roles, form of protection against some bandits but nothing big), then a large town(less survival but more problems with people, more delegation, maybe a moat or pallisades/fence?), small city(having some form of official positions delegated, pallisade moat, starting more trading). It has alread a unique setting, don't reinvent the wheel and look at how other games implemented some interesting mechanics.
just thinking of knowing your subjects and somehow getting interested in them. Sending sons to wars and having to deal with lowered production and happiness. BUT lets hope it won't become a star citizen.
God i'm desperate for that game
I've been extremely excited for this game ever since the first bits of footage were released. Played the demo and liked what they had so far. Incredible potential for a hybrid town builder/RTS game set in a period loved by many. Somewhat bittersweet timing now that CA (Total War) have fallen massively out of favour with the community and then something pops up that could finally offer us an alternative... don't get me wrong I've played and loved many Total War titles but most of the recent ones have been massive disappointments.
Yeah its a strange one with CA seems they have just been struggling a lot lately to get any games to land, kind of feels like they have lost touch with the playerbase slightly. Although I think even if total war was still going well i'd be hyped for Manor Lords :D
To be completely honest, I think the game will be very well done but I am afraid it will lack overall substance and gameplay and try to fix that by implementing hordes of real life components like Dwarf Fortress did. Best case scenario, I think it would end up being a small scale and more close up version of Stellaris.
I don't agree but cam understand your concerns. I don't think it's a game that has been developed without thought to game mechanics, I think it might be perhaps targeting a more niche audience than most games though. At least I hope your wrong anyway haha
is the early access free?
I doubt it although I'm not aware what the cost will be yet don't think they have announced

i ONLY play games in the future if its free 2 play ..OR i can buy a HARDCOPY of the game ... i detest steamshop purchase and you ONLY get a code. Shame if that means i cant play this awesome looking game... but i detest the consumer market where you pay for nothing (no internet or power means no gameplay)
I get it but so few games hard hard copies now its just very limiting + it's just one guy working on his indie project I like to support these sort of ventures where possible over the AAA studios
I desperately need a new game, Total War was disappointing and CB is becoming boring, so hopefully this is a new breath of fresh air.
