Some male actors who played with him said he was just sublime, like almost too beautiful, I've heard that some actresses refused to play with him because of the risk comparison.

Prior to the 80s, we had a lot more content coming from Europe and specially from France with interviews, tons of movies, tv shows made in France as well as a lot of french actors, singers, comedians, directors interviewed here on our TV and radio stations. Sometimes these interviews would be an hour long with all kind of anecdotes about their carrier and the actors they work with. I can't be certain but it might be Claude Brasseur great actor and dear friend of Delon who gave a fantastic and long interview done by Joël Le Bigot on Radio-Canada years ago.
Even to this day I still consider him one of the most handsome actors of all time, he was and is truly beautiful.

His eyes are really gorgeous. When he played in Zorro, I could see only his blue-green eyes and I still thought that Zorro(without really seeing all his face because it was covered) was handsome. Everything about him is beautiful. We can calculate and see all kind of numbers and measurements and still couldn't really explain his beauty. He is just very handsome and I can't add more. I think he was very handsome but I think Barry Ryan of the song Eloise came is more better looking.Especially when he was young. His eyes are similar to Delons. I'm from France so I've seen Alain Delon since I was young, but what is very strange is that even though of course I recognize his beauty, there's always been something in him I dislike, without knowing exactly what. I think maybe it's in his expression, which has a certain coldness or even a bit of cruelty. If I had met him (not as an actor, but just as a regular person), I would have thought "yes you're very handsome, but no I don't feel attracted to you". Strange how that can happen.
I don't get cruelty but yes a certain disdain, maybe conceit. Not like, say, Paul Newman, who was super handsome and had a welcoming demeanor.

I do see the cruelty--I knew a guy growing up, liked very similar to this guy same exact vibe. The girls swooned and he had his pick. And he picked them all. The one girl who was his first girl friend suffered so much because of him. He was very cruel to her and she was the one who loved him for himself. She eventually married a great guy after he broke her heart one to many times.
