    8 Years later and this series is still the best falco instructional resource out there by miles.

    Thank you so much for these videos. I just started playing smash ~2 months ago and picked up melee so I could play Falco after watching videos of what he could do. I've been having trouble learning a lot of the advanced stuff and these videos had everything I could ever need to know with detailed descriptions of both the execution and application of the techniques. I've been reviewing these every day before I start practicing, and it's really helped me step up my game a lot quicker. I have a lot of trouble playing as Falco and usually don't do too well, but I did just start playing and I realize how hard spacies are to play as. When I do manage to land a good combo though, it's more satisfying than with any other character. Thanks again for providing such an in depth guide for my favorite character, and I hope you continue to put out videos as good as this one.

      Jacob Fishman Thanks man, this motivates me to do more of these kind of videos. I was thinking of making a new one but it'll be for various characters rather than just falco, mainly to help people on my community (it will probably be in spanish with eng subtitles).

    These videos are great. Do you plan on making more?

      Yes, they take a lot of time though. In the mean time I'll be playing some smash with my friends, and uploading funny/random/combo videos while I can, cause they're way easier to make (I can make one in 1 night just spending a couple of hours at most + the upload time). When I get more busy with life (work, study, family, etc.) I'll just stay home making tutorials on my free time.

      lol There's a lot of new stuff that I do nowadays but Idk how practical would it be. Is not like you'll learn something from me that you wont if you watch mango or westballz

      Actually I see a lot of vids of Mang0 or West, even PP. But its more practical to see how to do that, like step by step, and how practice it. Keep te good work man.

    Hey thanks for this series I really appreciate it. I know I'm echoing the other Jacob below me but I've been playing melee since it was released fairly regularly and just the last couple years I've started to get more serious about improving and I decided more than a year ago that I wouldn't touch any other games until I take a set off the formerly 2nd; now 4th or 5th on the PR in my state.Double Stick DI really confuses me. Does that actually work?

      +Jacob McMillin double stick DI(smash DI) works very well and can be used in many situations to get out of combos. Go look up one of the many videos on it on youtube or search for it on smashboards if you want to learn more about how to use it.

    Any tips for recovering after grabbing ledge? I feel like wave land is really good if you aren't too predictable. My wave lands suck right now though. People usually punish Dair on stage easily and lasers on stage it seems unsafe and easy to get gimped. Leffen told me that lasers on stage is a crutch.

      Leda Cygnus ledgedash (which is wavelanding on stage right after grabbing the edge) is good because it makes you retain some invulnerability - I believe is 16 frames.I found that ledgedash + uptilt is good against people that jump off with an aerial because they thought you will double laser. But you can do ledgedash w.e really, I didn't put it on this video because I sucked at it badly, but now I'm better at it. I think I would probably make another video with all the stuff that I've learned recently.

      The Melee.pe TV Do you do the perfect ledge dash?

    • @2476748152
      @2476748152  9 років тому

      That's really the only way to do it, or the most optimal, at least in my book.

    can you teach the di performance against marths forward smash againts falco plz cause i have this friend that plays nothing but marth and all he uses is dash attack, reverse forward smash but idk how to di a marths forward smash please help!

    • @2476748152
      @2476748152  10 років тому

      Did you watch the video? lol. Just hold up and towards marth to DI his forward smash. Wavedashing out of shield into a grab or shine (if you're somehow fast enough/close enough) is a nice counter to marth's forward smash. Grab or shine out of shield his dash attack.
