      @@angelramirezgarcia8264 I mean, ultimately what would save him would be for him to upload that world into the Experimental 0.6 build where platforms can be built on and there's impermeable floors so he doesn't have to make the Megaquaduct. He could just make a normal-ish aquaduct that does the same thing on top of using the overhangs to save on wood to get the same job done. But he's an engineer, not a logistics supplier. He's also still hellbent on putting the badwater dome on the badwater spring instead of putting on the badwater refinery, which makes the spring act like a pump without allowing the badwater to actually spill out.
      Essentially he's addressed his problem at the beginning of this episode, which is he gets distracted way too easily. He was so distracted with the power tower last video he was staring right at his gigadam reservoir drying up in the background and he still just didn't notice it until it was a bit too late.

    14:00 The order the beavers build things in is actually very straightforward. So when you're placing down buildings, that puts them in a first in first out queue, and when you change it's priority, you switch it to a different queue, but it retains it's position. Beavers will supply building materials to the first placed highest priority building they can, and barring that, will start working on the second priority queue, then the third, fourth, and finally fifth. If you ensure your build order is from furthest to closest, it'll help prevent beavers from getting stuck as often.

    MATT!!!!!:
    23:50
    You didn't/don't need to go to 'Experimental 6' to make this an easier project. Once you had the tower built and batteries on top you could have created an external 'staircase' of power connectors without needing stairs.
    You already have the stairs of the tower; all you had to do was build an ascending cross-back of power connections that could be built from the stairs of the battery tower, allowing for more than one-at-a-time building of the connectors.
    I'm visualizing it like an external fire escape stairs, but made up of only supports and power pieces; no stairs necessary. (they're already in the tower)
    The current shenanigans puts me to mind of an architect. ;)
    cheers Matt

    • @bepamungkas
      @bepamungkas Місяць тому

      Without overhang, the power shafts must be internal to the structure since it will block the batteries otherwise.
      Furthermore, since there's no maintenance mechanic, those stairs are a waste of resources once he commits to use x number of batteries.
      It makes sense (during the design phase, at least) to make use of existing material and structures to build the power connectors.

      The new water physics are only in the experimental build at the moment, which he mentioned he won't be using in this series. About that diagonal being the same as the squared corner. That's an actual mathematical thing. If you're talking about so called Manhattan geometery (everything is right angles, on a grid - no diagonals), all direct paths are equally long. So, yes, there's actual mathematical proof that your right angle megaduct is the same amount of pieces as your diagonal one (or at least approximately - not sure the routes are 100% equivalent).
    Also, you're going to want more power storage - don't get rid of those paths, just build the power shafts differently or expand the tower so you can get the shafts in. When I was doing Folk Tails, I could occasionally run out of power or nearly run out with a bigger storage tower than that.

    Unfortunately Matt, there is no cure for Bee Stings, but you can minimalize the chances by making sure your Beavers aren't pathing through the area the Bees affect.
    Then, only your Farmers are getting stung, and only when planting or harvesting.

    Maybe consider gravity batteries and windmills at the top of your megaquaduct?
    You can also create a spillway from the poocano and water wheel that off the map.
    Lastly you'll want to create a spillway from the water source for bad tides so you don't fill your poocano with more poo.

    you will have to plan to let the good water springs that flow down to your main river to flow unhindered towards your og plank factory, since the megaqueduct is also a megadam, and you have natural dams in your main river that would cause flooding.

    I don't know if someone already said this but buildings transfer power so you can use a mini lodge as vertical power shaft by stacking it. It takes up two spaces instead of one but better than stairs.

    An aqueduct has the feature that you can walk under it.
    You should build it with platforms and cover it with waterproof floor!

  • @samtrenchard1246
    @samtrenchard1246 Місяць тому

    For the water wheels to work you also need to make the flow of the aqueduct really shallow. If you keep the aqueduct really deep the flow rate will be extremely low because the cross-sectional area of flow is extremely large.

    Hope it helps next time!

    Also one important thing thats not layers view, building more housing, usually best thing is to have more beavers than you need and employ them in low priority builder huts and carrier thingygingies (forgot how they called, guys with backpacks) this solution provides 100% efficiency even when someone dies as they are being immediately replaced by builder or carrier(?)

    I’m only 10:30 in and can’t help but think that the canal only has to be as tall as the water filling the volcano. So the levels could be added as needed rather than all at once.
    Lower the level on the outside of the volcano first while building the lower levels of the canal. Leaving an exit for the bad water… Channel the fresh water in the same way as the bad water is released.
    Create a wall to divide half of the canal with fresh water. That would save a large amount of water for droughts.

    Matt, you can use the priority button to mass assign priorities, between the path and demolish buttons. Also, why not make the poo-cano outlet 2 space wide, with the flow rate you could easily make maximum HP.
    I definitely enjoy your Timberborners, Cheers!

    Put a storage halfway along your dam for logs. Building time will decrease. Also if you make your poo escape chute wider itll be harder to build the dynamite so youll have to bridge over it!!!
