I kind of forgot how good the music was, how much it added to the drama and the action of Gall Force, and really brought the situations these characters faced to life. The animation was impressive for the mid-eighties, but without the music it wouldn't have had the same impact.
Very atmospheric right, plus THAT sound. Pure and true and it was back then in the 80's. We can only recreate it now with better and modern equipment. I have heard psychedelic and space rock made in the early 2000s's as IF it were still the 60's or 70's. Back then it was just called pop, or rock. Now pop is different, and rock is expansive and so is metal. I am far too young to have experienced those eras for myself, but I do hear people all the time tell me that, "You'd fit in real nice in X era" so I have that going on for me. Very adaptive to different societal cultures. I love a lot of music and the culture that surrounds it/them.
Those beginning vibes though. Oh my god, that sound reminds me of the Colombian EDM band Hocico and some of them go, 2:23-2:47. In some of their songs, Tiempos De Furia, Bloodshed, The Watched and much more you can hear similar sounds. I LOVE that kind of thing. THAT sound, kinda dark and synthy with some dancey drum and bass. OOF, uhm LOVE love it. 17:00-17:27 That reminds me of Bad Dream Baby by September '87.
Really been getting into some 80's - 90's VHS anime and their OST's after the as a new thing. Since 2020-2021 was the "renaissance" era of memes and music and the whole "medieval remix" fad. Now it's synthwave and dark 80's retrowave. Cyber Punk and all that. I like my anime like how I like my D&D all mixed up. Samurai Champloo and concepts similar. Been writing in AI Dungeon something like that. This Draconic Warrior Priestess, named Ember Brimstone (fire and brimstone if you cross her) a jack of all trades in battle and war magiks of the old world and has been used in many a siege. (Also actual race in Star Wars Cannon, a draco thing.) Can't be racist when ALL (alien in one shape, way, or form) races exist in one place together having to deal with each other over drinks like civilized peoples. Say a small Rancor encountered an Elco at a Space Bar, or perhaps a High Elf witnessing a shift in the force when a group of Asari walk into a club and all the heads turn from them onto the new people. Maybe some cyberpunk seeing a real tall lizard lady clad in Gold armor walk around with a Great-Broad sword on her back, casting fireballs at people and making molten slag out of their new toys, shouting "OMNI-SOMA!" as she does it for the very first time. (Space Station 13 reference) So much fun when you don't have rules for yourself as a writer and you can go fast and loose with the character role play and universe dynamics and world building. Music really helps sell that and helps me to write out THAT feeling this OST gives you and many like it or Artists like Doblado Studios, Kevin Macleod and all that as well. Gotta give credit to music and anime inspiration where credit is to the similar concepts that is due, that help me to create what I am now referring to as "Originality from unoriginality." Just mix it all up until it's unrecognizable from the real world and my personal experiences that fuel the emotion and tone in it. To the things that people say as NPC's in there or the things they believe in are just a reflection of the real word much the same the SCP world is selective what is cannon "Pick and choose" and entirely subjective in nature as well to what does exist and what doesn't. Pataphysics. Forget Entropy that was ten years ago, Pataphysics is the new meta apparently. Edit: I have tried the whole Discord AI Dungeon thingy for Multiplayer that doesn't work. No one replies for hours or at all it seems like Discord is one big Ghost Town every time I try to use it. I have tried Xbox Parties, that is even worse yet. Nobody sticks around to listen, and those that do are far too few and too many, much similar to getting people to play GTO missions and the DLC. Screw that noise.
