- As a Motorcyclist we can all agree on one thing. One bike I just not enough. The formula is always +1 when you ask about how many bikes do you actually need. There is some obvious reasons to why I choose to go for a E-MTB instead of a light Enduro bike.
This is all a little bit new to me, so I will learn a lot going forward, but one thing has to be said. This is some of the most fun I have had in a long time.

I really enjoyed seeing your perspective on how rad these Yamaha Moro 07's are! Everyone else is just talking tech and MTB riding. They are very useful in more than one way and so many don't see this. So awesome you are putting this out like this!
I just became a dealer and it's the best all around bike I've ever sold. Yamaha is a sold long going like you said and I've always loved them since my first 1979 YZ 250! Enjoy your adventures riding!
Yeah, i find it really strange that not more people use this bikes for more than just downhill. They are such great mountain tourers. you have no limits with these kind of bikes. And i absolutely love it. I will make a lot more adventure type videos with e-MTB in the upcoming years. I think this will be the future for many countries now with all the regulations that is coming to Motorcycles. Cheers sir, appreciate the comment.

Thanks so much mate 👏🏻 Yeah, this is great in so many ways. It keeps me fit, i can travel much more with my son. He is heavily into bikes at the moment. And i can explore areas that i have not been before with my bike 🤌🏻🎥
I did not see this coming but it makes perfect sense :) I did it the other way around - started mountain biking many years ago, and got into adventure motorcycles later. I've had my eMTB for a few years now and it really is such an amazing tool. As always - thanks for sharing your videos
Hahaha, Yeah, i guess many did the same as you, not see this coming! But i have been looking at a second motorcycle for a while now! But it just does not make any sense here in Norway! A bike on the other hand ticks all the boxes and will keep the technical stuff fresh before a new season on my tenere 👏🏻🔥
Hi, glad to see you picked up mountain biking. I have been mountain biking for 15years and I love it as well. I just wanted to let you know that it is better to avoid cleaning your bike with a high-pressure cleaner because you will push all the dirt into the bearings. All though most bearings on modern bikes are sealed they are not as beefy as on motorcycles that's why it's better to clean with a garden hose and once in a while it's a good idea to clean the bike with hot water and soap. Also be attentive when you are spraying suspension oil, lubricants or silicone sprays in the vicinity of the disc brakes try to avoid it so they don't get contaminated. Anyway I can't wait to see what you will do with the bike. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this valuable tips. I just do what I normally do with my motorcycle, and i can imagine that is not necessarily the best thing for a bike. I will make a note of this and be more careful going forward. Hahaha, i had to do a little twist on the beginning 😂 And i can’t wait to do more back roads of Norway. As you know, most hidden gems are sticktly forbidden to ride on a motorcycle. I have some plans about the 1000 meter road, rallarvegen, Kongevegen etc when the snow goes away next year. So let’s see what i can make of this going forward. Always nice to try something new and get other creative inputs for this whole video stuff. Cheers

You're going to have a lot of fun with this, Thomas! besides my T7 I also have an emtb and it's great. slowly discovering off-road paths and enjoying nature is at least as beautiful as with a motorcycle. The last couple of weeks has been absolutely amazing, with so much fun. It is crazy how this thing brings a smile on my face. Going down on narrow paths, doing technical terrain like I would never dear on a motorcycle makes me wonder if this is something I can make videos about without doing the typical MTB videos you see this days. I will most certainly explore this part of my adventures with video as well. But how much, I don't know yet. It all depends on what you guys want to see more or less of. Cheers.

Thank you 🙌🏻 I tried to do some research before I got mine, all my friends going down the Spezialised route (or how you write it) And for me it only looked like most brands was twice as expensive with pretty much the same quality and components. So far I'm like a little child again, having so much fun on this thing. Just need the snow to go away now, so we can start the season again 🔥

Hello mate, so nice to hear from you again. Hope you and your brother have had a great holiday. So far i have ridden it 150km and i absolutely love it. For us, here in Norway, this is the future when it comes to true off-road and reach those remote areas with permission. I had never thought i would enjoy it this much. It is right up there with riding a motorcycle 🤩 Happy New Year, we are spending our time of work at our cabin, just relaxing. More adventures in the near future. Stay safe ☕️
Ahh... you join the club at last! (I have a nice German Canyon Pathlite:on), a few tips, putting luggage on the bike (racks panniers) is much more comfortable than a rucksack, modern cycling clothing is awesome, keep hydrated! :)
Haha, thank you Robert. The only stuff I keep in the rucksack is my camera gear. I'm not sure I want that to stay on the bike. Less effort to use from my back. I will see how much of my hiking and motorcycle gear I can reuse without falling into the trap of buying a lot of new gear that probably does the same thing. But great tip and thank you. More like this please. It is all new to me so I need all the tips and tricks I can get. Cheers

Yeah, this is a reason why I did it as well. I really like that I can play and enjoy my way into shape. It also gives me much more and needed time with my son who is growing up and enjoying bikes. So it is a win win in many regards. And it will still be really related to motorcycle. Haha, that is a challenge I will accept mate. Let me see if I can take it for a solo camping trip. Without a car 🤌🏻
Welcome to the wonderful world of offroad cycling. I have been an MTB rider since 1989 and have not yet tried an electric bike, but I am a HUGE fan because.... well you are a perfect example of why. People who would not buy a conventional bike will buy and use an E-Bike and that has GOT to be a good thing. Enjoy your new bike and the new world it opens up.

You should my friend. I can’t begin to describe how crazy fun this is and how many smiles it has put on my face. And the best part. You get a fair amount of exercise in it as well. And it is so related to Motorcycle riding. I bet my riding skills will benefit from this a lot.

I come from a MTB background riding further and further away from home. Next step for me was of course a motorcycle to explore more, further out.
Great to hear that mate. For me it is a little bit the other way around. I have explored so much with my bike now, there is not so much more left in have not seen before. So now i can explore new places with my bike, and go even further or ship my bike down south and explore there 👏🏻

you are gonna be just as hooked as I am 😂 Love this bike! I use front and rear fender from Mudrocker. Easy to attach with strips and stays in place.

Indeed it is… and with my skill level, i have way more fun in technical terrain with a emtb than a motorcycle. I’m not good enough to really ride my motorcycle this hard. The bike is just so much easier to trow around and jump with.
I have enjoyed winter riding on my e bike, piggdekk then off on the local ski track. The cold does hit the battery but i only had a biltema basic Ebike but immense fun in the mountains near Soknedal.
I need to take a closer look at piggdekk! I guess there is some really good trail riding with minimal snow! Thank you for the tip 🤩👏🏻
I've been doing exactly like you for few years for the exact same reasons, and I find that my emtb is as fun as riding my motorbike. I can't live without it now. 😊 I have a Giant Trance XE+2 which also has a Yamaha engine.
I’m blown away how much i enjoyed this and how fun i have had it on the trails with a emtb. I really can’t wait for the season to start again, there will be much more content of both motorcycle and emtb in the upcoming years. I do think this is the direction most countries will end up.
@@tshansen I'm sure you'll love it more and more. The good thing is that you are really doing exercise compared to motorcycling, it costs almost nothing compared to a full tank of gas, and as you said, we can do it in any season. Right now I'm riding it in the snow. Discovering places in quiet nature is not comparable with motorcycling, more like hiking. Enjoy mate ! 👍

I have not been riding bikes since I was a kid. I did not know I had such interest either. My kid growing up got me into looking for a bike that I could do with him. To actually have this fun and get it so related to my motorcycle riding and adventures is a new pluss. Let's see what we can make of this in-between the motorcycle videos. Cheers

Thank you mate. Well, I’m to tall for most bikes like this, so there is no more range for the seat to be higher 😂 So i got to adapt like i have to with most other bikes. I have no plan of paddle around for many miles or days in and out. Just explore the mountains and have a great time going down again. But thank you for the tip. I should probably get a pro to set the bike up to fit me better. Thank you
Of course! My pleasure. I am an Athletic Therapist over here in BC and part of what I do is prevention. Perhaps it's an easy fix with a longer seat post? I am 6'2" tall and feel your pain with things not fitting properly. The suspension on that bike looks awesome!@@tshansen

Crikey Thomas, I heard people in Norway are complaining about the amount of camervans/motorhomes on the roads 😂. I look forward to seeing how more amazing your video productions of Norway will be and forgive my ignorance but can you freely enter private land on a battery bike but not on a motorcycle in your country 🤔 don't ride too far from your cameras it may be a long way back if the battery is flat. All joking aside I cannot wait to see where your new Yamaha will take you and I to hope to bring my campervan to Norway soon 🤘🏻
Hahaha we complain about that all the time. But there is nothing wrong with the campers… it is more the people who ride it 10-20 km/h under the speed limit looking on everything and don’t let people pass them on narrow roads. That can be a mental game you would not believe 😂 Well, you can ride on the outer land of a property, but not inside a fence near houses etc. You have the right to roam here in Norway, so we got a lot of freedom to use our nature. You can’t be a land owner and lock it away behind fences etc. Hahaha…. That is a great point. I think i will use my drone and action cam more 😂 I feel a little bit stressed out when I’m far from “home” and the last battery level is blinking. Cheers mate

@@tshansento be honest I sometimes think that Road Bike and e-Bike is the best combination. Adventure bikes are great if you want to travel far away and don't know what to expect, but if you live in one of the developed countries, then probably roads are good there, and off-road is prohibited, expect of specially selected areas. So that's where e-bikes make perfect sense for those who want to explore.
@@SergeyVikultsev you are touching on a really interesting topic that a lot of people refuse to talk about! It took me a while to accept this as well, but there is truly no other way if you want to really explore here! And it will become even less options in a couple of years 🔥
@@tshansenMy guess is that’s why many companies started to re-introduce sport-touring (or crossover) bikes in recent years. Adventure bikes stay on the road and never see the gravel dust in most cases. Anyway, a good topic to think about :)
What gas camping stove is it that you use?
I use the Trangia 27 HA for all my cooking and coffee making. Best camping equipment on the market.

Awesome! Having 2 types of bike for different purposes is my definition of living the dream. I'm sorry to hear Norway does not allow Offroad riding, but I respect each culture's decision to draw the line wherever they do. Maybe your new bike would be easier to take in an airplane and explore other parts of the world...?
Yeah, everything falls into a bigger plan. You see, this makes it easier for me to ship my motorcycle down south in the winter, fly down and use it in Spain, have my emtb at home with my camper van and still be able to adventure around and do what i love most. And as you say, It is much easier to ship or fly your bike than your motorcycle as well. There will be some new adventures in the horizon. Just wait and see 😇🔥
for me in the UK the Moro 07 has caught my eye, and I'm a die hard no ebike man! an attempted theft of my tenere this year has really changed my feeling on travelling in the UK by bike. an ebike can be put out of sight or even in the room of a hostel etc so I keep finding myself thinking....
Hahaha Die Hard no e-bike man is something to tattoo on the arm 😂 I swore when i was younger to never bicycle again. What fore? You have engines. But now, I’m a wiser man and this is stupidly fun. And your point is really important to think about. These days, with everything going on, all the bikes getting nicked. Stop thinking and go for it mate. You wont regret it.
@@tshansen I need to have a clear out first! bikes are too easy to buy and too hard to sell! have a 125 beta rr and a gas gas txt125 pro to work out what to do with!
After a few months, have you got an idea on range for average pedal assist?
Yes, I have a certain clue. With a lot of uphill and climbing on auto it last for about 40km on average.

Spennende, jeg har to sykler en T700 rally og en Harley Street glide de er så forskjellige det er gøy til forskjellige anledninger.
T700 for ufattelig mye og Street glide for lengre veiturer nedover kontinentet hvor en tung stabil (halv carbriolet) er veldig komfortabelt og fungerer supert, cruise control og sitt å slapp av, veldig greit på asfalt når man vil sluke flere tusen km på en tur
Ja, det er faktisk ikke nok med bare en sykkel. For mitt bruk klarer T7 å tilfredstille det aller meste, men den leken i skog og mark som jeg virkelig higer etter om dagen er sjanseløst å gjøre på motorsykkel, uansett farge og form. Så da ble dette et spennende alternativ jeg må teste litt ut. Så langt kan jeg si at jeg storkoser meg og har virkelig funnet fram igjen barnet i meg. 🤩

Nice, how big battery is it on that one? I think this will still be a "motorcycle" pr definition in Norway and not allowed to take anywhere (legal) But it looks sick 🙌🏻
@@tshansen the MX4 has 2700 Wh or 45 Ah @ 60 V. Some Americans do remove all parts so it looks like a motorless bike. It is so quiet, I do ride many tracks that was not possible with the KTM. When passing slowly there is no bad response so far.

@@tshansen … with battery 70 kg. Runs when limited for street use about 48 km/h. One charge runs about 90 km‘s for me. Much fun for the village and the farmers around to get fresh eggs.
For further rides I get a HONDA CB125R in a couple of weeks.
My KTM 790 AdvR RALLY (2020) goes to Portugal 🇵🇹 to her new rider.
MTB is great fun and it's what I learnt offroad skills on. So it will help for sure. Now I want one too... (damn expensive tho)

I ride MC and EMTB. I totalt agree with your experience. Both bikes gives at lot of wellness for body and mind😊. A tip: Raise your seatheight 2-3 cm😊
Thank you for the tip. Do you know if it is possible to get longer seat rod? This is maximum height for the original one?
@@tshansenhi Thomas, are you sure the seat post is at max height? It looks like a dropper post to me and I can only see the telescopic part and collar out of the seat tube of the frame. Hard to tell from the footage but you should be able to loosen the seat clamp and lift the dropper post body higher (hose length permitting). Looking at the specifications you should have 150mm travel dropper but this should then be height adjustable up to a minimum insertion depth in the frame. This would be marked on the part of the seat post inserted in the frame. The 150mm dropper travel isn’t for seat height setting, it’s there to allow you to get it out of the way when descending steep terrain and you need to move your butt further back to prevent over handlebar moments. Your comfort height should be achievable 🤞

God kveld Ove 🤩 Jeg har kikket litt på alternativer fra EcoFlow, Anker, Jackery osv. Men det er ganske kostbare «power banks» med veldig enkelt å ta med seg. Alternativet er at jeg bygger en egen batteri kasse, med en Converter og et litium batteri. Som jeg også enkelt kan plugge inn å lade sykkelen. @@tshansen normalt sett er dem på 36 eller 42 volt. Og hvis batteriet ditt er på rundt 500 watt så vil det si at kapasiteten på batteriet er rundt 10-15 ampere. Da tappes bilbatteriet fort. Men at du bør bruke et eksternt batteri til dette er nok sikkert. Det tryggeste er nok en slik batteribank som du snakket om. Men det koster jo skjorta. Solcelle kan jo være en løsning, men du skal ha et voksent solcellesystem for å få strøm nok til å lade et slikt batteri. Man kan jo lade det mens man kjører bil selvsagt eller mens motoren går, men det er jo ikke sikkert er like heldig alltid.
@Ove_Bjerknes Ja, dette er ikke mitt sterkeste fagfelt. Men planen var å bygge et eget strøm oppsett bare til sykkelen. Ikke noe som var koblet mot driftsbatteriet på bilen. Rigge for mye greier blir vanskelig da det ikke er mer plass enn det må være. Men jeg får prøve å sende noen e-poster å se om det er mulig å få noe influencer avtaler med noen av de som lager disse store power bankene. Det er helt klart den mest sexy og enkle løsningen, men som du sier. Sinnsykt dyrt.
I picked up a OHM Quest a couple of years back, 600W and 85Nm torque, range about 120km (level easy riding) less with hills etc. Its not a mountain bike, they call it a SUV - in the middle of off road and on road. I don't ride it as much as I thought I would, hard enough getting time to ride my 2 motorcycles. 1st world problems. 😎
Good morning mate, had to google it. Great bike and i can understand the predicament. I have to wait and see how much i will use it myself. But as the winter season is here, there is just not an option to ride my motorcycle so i imagine it will be used a lot in the winter. Not so much in the summer. I have ktm 990 smt motorbike, cube stereohybrid 140 e mountainbike and my park/enduro mtb bike giant reing sx 29 and right know the emtb gets the most kilometers. It is the funniest machine i have ever owned and, it teaches so much riding skill
I can relate to that. It is really fun and so easy to bank x amount of KM without feeling to much like a training session. Just getting out there, make sure that the skills does not get to rusty before the new motorcycle season kicks in again. Cheers
When you say riding off road in Norway is illegal what exactly do you mean? Do you mean trailblazing where no path is created is illegal or are there no sanctioned dirt bike single track trails anywhere in Norway?
Well, the word Off-road in Norway is misleading! Everything that is not on what you would call a road or gravel road is normally forbidden. Single trails, most fire roads, paths etc are forbidden. I know many people including myself has bending the rules sometimes. But Norway is really not the country to ride off-road. There is some dirt tracks in norway, but really few. Most is forbidden because the places they are located get a lot of noise pollution according to the local people who don’t want us near, just listen to bird songs.

And one more tip - don’t lubricate your fork on the outside. You will get a lot of mud on you lubricate which will scratch your fork. It works with special oil cartridge inside and that’s enough. Like in a motorbike.
That is a great tip… i just did it to lubricate the seal, I dried everything away afterwards. Made sure to clean it properly after. But it is no need for that at all then?
@@tshansen yes, right, you don't need any external lubricant there. You just need to do periodically maintenance with disassembling, internal cleaning and oil changing.

Mountain bikes and Enduro/ Offroad ADV go hand in hand! Happy to see you use the mtb to develop skills on the big bike. I wish mountain bikers would see it properly that way, because they really are the same sport.. As someones whos ridden MTB for 20 od years and Dualsport for maybe only 10. All I can say is this. One isn't better than the other for any particular reason, however proper "Enduro" or dirbiking is better for you physically than a conventional Mtb ride, with E-bikes giving you much less of the work out unfortunately. The learning gap is my preference with moto, which is why I've probably been so fixed on it for the last 10 years. There are so many small techniques and skills to develop on the Enduro side of things the list is endless. Once you become proficient on the mtb, the only skill to work towards is virtually just going faster, aka higher consequence. Don't get me wrong it is extremely rewarding to work towards a difficulty or certain trail on the mtb, but in my case it's the same cardio, on the same climbing trail, for the same 25 min of riding downhill.. Whereas with enduro, as soon as that front wheel touches the single track you're learning, riding hard, working out, etc. You can ride slower to work on skills, you can ride faster, work on clutch control, weight distribution, the list goes on and then it differs from each kind of bike! Not only that but mountainbiking as a whole has gotten too soft and manicured, nevermind the consumerism aspect that had been a plague in mtb.. Let's not even compare the price of that Yamaha E-mtb to motorcycle, enough said.. At the end of the day, the skills you work towards on the E-mtb will go hand in hand with the skills for the ADV riding, and vise versa. As long as you have rubber on the ground, and two wheels keeping ya moving, you're living your life and that's what matters.
And of course out geographical locations do dictate the perceptions of what's essentially "riding bikes in nature". I'm sorry that you don't have the luxury of offroad riding in Norway, something I definitely take for granted being from BC Canada. You found a viable option to get out and explore the backroads and for that I applaud you. If the roles where switches I would like to think I would be doing the same. If I may; I would also just to critique two things about that part with maintenance. Please fact check a few more places about greasing or putting anything on the forks. It's just not a thing. Maybe woulden't be as much of an issue for the winter (although I still don't recommend), but come summer with some dust it will ruin the fork seals immediately. Service them the same as you would a motorcycle fork. And I would advice to cut off that plastic ring on the rear wheel. It won't do anything on the best of days, but the social norm associates those with cheap bikes as with the reflectors. Just my 2 cents though of course! I wish you well with the MTB and van setup. I hope you make some great youtube vids doing those and record some riding on the gopro for us! Chears.

Yes, you have a really strong and important point when it comes to learning the skills on a MTB vs a Enduro bike. Enduro is just on another planet, and something i wish there was more options to ride here in Norway. But sadly there is just no point. And the few tracks you can ride is just so far away or the same over and over again that it kinda takes the fun out of it. For me at least.
I have seen a lot of people greasing their seals, but i have no clue if it is the right or wrong way to do it. I did dry away every access grease and it looks ok so far, but i will not do it again before i get confirmation that this is how Rockshox would do it. Thank you for the advice. When it comes to the fenders. Here in norway we have MUD fest almost everywhere we go. And having my camera gear on the back there is just no way to ride without one. I don’t care much if people mistake me for a fool or rookie. I can live with that, keep in mind, i wear crocs all year around 😂👏🏻 There is no point hiding that this is extremely fun and something i will be doing much more of at least the next couple of years. How much video i will make of it is not sure about yet, but some trips in remote nature of Norway is a given. Let’s see what we can make of it, and again. @@tshansen Happy to help, if there's any other mtb related questions you have don't hesitate to send them my way! And I apologize, I misspoke on the plastic thing. I meant for that clear ring behind the cassette / or "gears". I totally respect the mud guard for the back tire, as it's never that fun getting a wet bum haha. Plus it's never fun having to clean mud excessively never mind off a camera bag. The plasic ring is a regulatory requirement and the idea behind it is if the chain slips off that it wont fall into the spokes and get all tangled up. In my experience it's hard for the chain to slip "up", and the more likely is the chain slips down on the top gears and gets jamed near the axle/frame. If you keep the derailer adjusted well it shouldn't happen untill the drive train has had a good life. And yea I may do some research as well for the stantions greasing as I haven't heard of or seen people grease them before. I would wager it's safer for longevity of the seals to just keep them clean from drying mud when you get back from a ride. That being said no matter what you do, servicing your suspension every couple years with a suspension tech is always a good idea. I have lyrik on the Nomad and they've treated me exceptionally well since 2017~. Another word of caution is to do a thorough bolt check after a few more rides, bikes settle in after the first few rides. So derailer adjustment might change (cable will gain slack), bolts may wiggle loose (less than fun if you lose one), brakes should be fine, tire preasures are always good to check before a ride. And it’s not from the shocks (like i see many people struggle with) maybe it is one of the bolts on the rear link or something. I need to check my bolts tomorrow as well. Jokes aside, I used to cycle 13km to/from work every day (not electric), but I simply got sick of all the maintenance needed.
Chain/sprocket replacement every 200-300km and spokes breaking on a monthly basis. Had to have 2 bikes ready at any time, as one of them would always be in need of repair.
I had hydraulic and mechanical disk breaks on my bikes, and as a motorcyclist I found them to be inadequate. (Asking the cycle shops to fix this, I was informed that I should cycle not use the breaks.)
And yes, I am a "big guy". Around 120kg. Tried to upgrade to better quality components as they broke/wore out, but usually the more expensive components were just a couple of grams lighter, not any stronger.
From what I can see the electric bikes do not have any reinforcements that will allow a higher load than the manual bikes.
But good luck! You are of course much lighter than me, and if you do not use the bike every day you probably will have a lot of fun with it.
(I may actually dig out my old bikes and use it for more leisurely tasks than going to work.) 🦼
This is really good and valuable information for me Halvard. I have no clue about this, and yes, I wound be using my bike every day, and if it brakes down, i don’t need it the next day. But having extra components laying around, is not a bad idea. Extra rubber, and inner tubes is a no brainer. But extra chain, cassettes and brake pads. Maybe discs as well if they are not to expensive. Will keep an eye out for this. Thank you.

Yeah you remind me then i got back into riding bikes and it started with a shitty mireda that spent more time in the shop than out 😂 pay for what you get...then from trek remedy to now a 2022 focus sam² ebike...its the same here too with moto bikes...only certain places you can go to and not that much...more so places for mtn than motos, but i rather still be riding a bike that you can still get fit from than riding a moto or scooter...thats why i sold thst also 😊
The one thing I don't get with bikes, that I get much more of with motorcycle, is the sense of freedom! That's why I have both now. I ride my Motorcycle on adventures and I go tru offroad and have a great time on the trials (legal) with my e-mtb! And I'm in the shape of my life 🙌🏻
@tshansen that's why I sold my scooter...I can get up 30-40km/h on my e-bike and get fit at same time...not sure on the 500w battery on the moro though...like to think about one but with more battery...and I like Yamaha too because I had a Yamaha jetski back in 2012 and it was reliable as!

In auto mode I guess that is somewhat correct to my first impressions of the range, but I'm not sure if that will be consistent with my usage. This is a bike I will climb up steep tracks and trails... not travel for longer distances (so far) So it is plenty enough range for what I have been using it for. I may get an extra battery. and I need to find a solution to charge it inside the car when I'm travel from campsite to campsite. It takes approx 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

Well, it depends on what your definition of a Mountain is, but i can assure you i have been up a couple of mountains just the last week. But you can argue on why they call it adventure bikes? When it never been around the world. To Africa or another remote area 😇 Thank you for that feedback and honest opinion mate. Appreciate that. There is only one problem with adventure motorcycle videos. I can’t go on enough adventures to keep making videos about just that. If I’m lucky i can get one or two long trips every year. The rest is family life and small periods of vacation to spend on local roads. For me, to keep on doing what i love and challenge my creative mind, i need to adapt and try new branches of this adventure game. But there is not certain i will make that much MTB videos. I did a lot of research before getting one, looking at Specialized, Scott, etc. Compared to price and what you get I really can't understand how you could state that Yamaha bikes are trash? From my perspective it looks like a much better deal than a lot of the other really high prices options? Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.
@@tshansen Comparing a scott & Specialized to a yamaha bike is like comparing a royal enfield to a triumph. Don;t know how much you spend but, comparing to those brands I assume it wasn't cheap. With more or less you could get a YT, Propain, Canyon, Cube, Radon with carbon frame, fox suspension, bigger battery, better groupset and better brakes. Plus they would run shimano or bosh motor that is way more efficient than yamaha .
@@Angelosts Well, the Yamaha was half the price to the top end competition. And yes, I get that you could probably get much better parts on more expensive bikes. But the question is, do I or many others like me need it? I get the battery and longer range, that is vital. But what I have seen from the engine? I see that much more expensive bikes run with the Yamaha moter, and has been for years. This is valuable info and gives me much better insight to this (brand new world) of biking. I just compare it to the motorcycle world. There are much better bikes on paper than my Tenere 700, for double the price. But it's not twice as great to ride, It is a great allrounder that is in the middle tier of bikes. I get the impression the EMTB from Yamaha is the same?
@@tshansen Now all motorbike brands make e-bikes because it is the new thing, it is the new fashion and bring more people to the mountian bike world. None of them has the knowledge and experience how to make/design good bikes with good geometry, effective linkage and suspension. MTBs share many similarities to dirt bikes but believe me they are totaly different and none of the motorbike brands have the knowledge to design a good mtb. I really doupt that they even produce the bikes. Think otherwise, if specialized produce an adventure motorbike, would you buy it?
