Yes, it was still returning to one player position very sluggishly, due to the center wheel (the brown one with the teeth), having gunk on the post. You should have taken that assembly apart and cleaned the post. These units are meant to operate 'snappy', and very crisply, so that the switches make good contact consistently. Using that solvent helped clean it but by not taking them apart, you left solvent in the tights spots that ends up getting gunky itself. Take apart, clean well, remove cleaner. A drop of machine oil is about all that's needed once it's all cleaned and put back together. realizing this is nine years old. Maybe you figured that out. Would have helped if you updated us with how it turned out.
Not sure if this was safe, but I didn't remove the "coin" unit. Just minimally sprayed some Windex on the nut of the "arm" in the video. Made sure to avoid getting other parts. Used a cute tip/ to dry it. The arm loosened pretty quickly and the multi-player now is working. I have a Gottlieb "Royal Flush" 4-player unit.
