@@DDFFB it would depend on the roster. And what type of equity you have on it. Also the draft picks that you may or may not have. Without knowing that. It’s hard to say whether to start selling off assets for picks, or start using picks and players to acquire assets.
The biggest problem I see with middling teams are they're not aggressive enough to go one way or the other. They typically play it safe, which leads to more middling.
One of my leagues has a few players like this. That league is about 5 years old and I honestly wonder what keeps them coming back lol! they always end up in the 1.04-1.07 range, don't trade, and don't make waves in the off-season. I just want to ask them if they're having fun 😂
Love the topic Shane, having that tough convo with yourself about where is my team really is already challenging for me. I think after this season I'm closer to you as far as my cutoff for a middling team, last year I kinda said if I'm not top 3 I'm out, but after watching a 5 seed and 6 seed with clearly inferior rosters win chips this year, I'm gonna change my philosophy to if I'm top 5 now, I'm gonna go all in, without ruining the team ofc
Love the "Great is sometimes the enemy of Good" adage...I do this too often to a detriment. When all i really need to do is make a deal that unlocks another, rather than just staying deadlocked because I won't take any other deal except the one I want...
Great episode Shane A team like this I would have actually been targeting 26 firsts (assuming someone else already controlled the 25 1st)...either by going right after the 26 1sts, or getting a 25 1st & then splitting into more value in 26 draft capital
What I did with my middling team was go for a rebuild.. I ended up trading Saquon, AJB, and Tyreek these were 2 different trades...it ended up netting me Nabers, Drake Maye, Polk, Zach Charbonet and Jermaine Burton.. Probably not that good of a trade now after seeing Saquon go off like that but I'll take the Maye and Nabers over almost anyone in that trade
I’ve heard that Love is a buy this off season because he had a down year. Which QB would you pursue that provides a decent floor and higher rushing upside for Love…….I like Herbert and Drake..?
Shane- how would you handle an asset like James Conner? Does his contract make him a hold or if I can flip him for a 26 -2nd, do it? He’s a bench piece in my start 8.
