Thank you for sharing your plants that are doing poorly. Most of us have to say goodbye to some of our favorites, but I think I did my best and thank goodness for plant swaps or plant shops, propagations. And, just do our best with the ones remaining. Keep enjoying your precious puppies and your friends. You've got his🌱🌿🐕
Thank you for revealing your struggling plants! We are all learning how to get thru the cold season and look forward to the spring! Think about it this way, what you are learning and how future plants can benefit! if you own plants, then you're going to loose some, but the knowledge we learn is worth the struggle!
I don't understand why, but I have the same trouble with Dischidia, with the papery leaves too. Two tries, two different species, two failures. Same with the Spathiphyllum 'Domino', I gifted it to my sister, and it threw a tantrum, losing leaves and a looking yellow. We ended up repotting it and freeing its crowded roots, moving it outdoors near the water tap to get all the extra water, neglecting it over Spring/Summer to figure itself out (which it's currently doing). But when it comes to your jewel orchid, I found mine loved the extra humidity of a closed terrarium/glass jar and they are so much happier now.
Oh my! Welp, I guess we are on the same team!🫶🤭 About Jewel Orchid, I have other ones in terrarium. This one was fine for 3 years, thafs what worries me 🤔
My elephant bush kicked the bucket 🪣 😭 other plants in my collection I struggle with are frickin spider plants man wth, people say they are so easy but out of all the years those ones have been the hardest for me. I always have the inner variegated one though so maybe I should try another variety. LOOK AT YOUR NEW KITTY POT YOU MADE THO! 😍 has a perfect prime spot and everything, so cute! Your shelves are so satisfyingly cozy. Sending sunshine and magic your way 🌞🌌🪐 thank you!
Oh Svetlana, I also have plants that struggle during the winter, I feel like it is just the weather, and I have learned more and more which plants struggle the most and how to take better care of them, and I feel like you are also learning how to do that it is just being a plant parent and learning all of this stuff. I know that my Calathea struggle the most during the winter, and this winter I larned a little more about how to take better care of them. I also got mealy bugs for the first time ever and I am super mad about that and it is mostly on my Hoya plants. I also lost 1 of my peace lilys they can be a diva plant sometimes. I thank you for sharing this video with us and I feel like we all will have plants that struggle and we learn how to deal with that because we are plant parents, I hope that you have a good week coming up, my birthday is this Friday the 17th and I will be turning 65, which I sometimes can't believe is happening. Sending much love and many big hugs, bye for now! 🤗💜💕💚🪴🌱🌺
Maybe your peace lily yellowing is because it needs some fertilizer? When my pothos started to yellow, fertilizer greened it back up. I am looking forward to spring too. I am struggling with my dolphin plant. The little leaves don’t look like dolphins anymore, but just flat circular shapes. 🐬 Scritches to your puppies🐕❤️🐾
Thanks for sharing your true plants story 😀 😊 I thought it happens to me only 😀but it happened to everyone, right. So nice to see your puppy's 🐶🐶 nice video looking forward to see more 💕💕💗💖
Plants can be so frustrating especially the fancy ones, too much water, not enough water, too much light, not enough light, or infested with pests!!! Your right when you say the pests go after the expensive plants! UGH I'm struggling with my Alocasias, recently I had to chop off so many of their beautiful chunky leaves because they were full of spidermite and a couple had some tiny brown bugs on them. I don't know if just chopping the leaves will get rid of them, they're probably in the soil and stem of the plant too. I've tried sprays and washing the leaves but they just keep coming back. I'm ready to give up on them and stick to the tried and true hardy plants 😊 I have the same dischidia your struggling with but so far I've been lucky with mine. I have it in a terracotta pot under bright light and water it every two weeks. Hope your having a great day!!
I found mealies on my linearis and ver. Compacta. I ended up taking it out of the soil, cleaned the roots, soaked the whole thing in alcohol and pesticide mix then added systematic to the new soil in new pot and we'll see 🤞🏽💚🤞🏽
From my experience hoya linearis needed more watering than the other hoyas - probably quite similar to hoya bella) when it comes to watering. Hopefully yours will grow huuuuuge this spring! 🌿
Hu hunie, we all have some plants in our collection that always seem to struggle. You are not alone🤍. However, regarding you hoya linearis, I would put her in a smaller pot. Their roots are very very fine and that pot seems a little on the large size. Just a thought! Luv you, liz
Hey, Your Mamei looks like there is a leaf stuck. I’d look at it an see if you can free the leaf. Where the growth point is too thick. 💚 Ugh thrips, hate em. Glad you won the thrip battle. 💚
Thanks for sharing your plant struggles. It's nice to see what other people have going on and what they choose to do about it. My least happy plant currently is String of Turtles. Last month it was Piccolo Banda but I got tired of that drama and tossed it
I think your portulacaria afra is not getting enough water. I think you should water more than once a month. The roots could now be so dry they've died and can't take up any water. My ludisia cross did the same as yours but because it was a smaller plant, it totally died. I also know they don't like to dry out too much. Wishing you luck with propagating your plants. Yes to a video of that.
I have the same problem with my jewel orchid,I have an elephant bush which did the same I found it needs more water than u think, when I started watering it more I haven't had anymore issues with it .
Ahhhh, the sad plants are here in Pennsylvania too. I had two elephant bush cuttings and lost them both. I have no idea what it wanted from me…. My Peace Lily Domino gets weird in the winter too but then bounces back in the Spring!! Thank you for sharing your sad plants with us. 💜💚🪴🌵
👍 to a propagation video please. I’m having the very small leaf problem with my melanochrysum, been looking at it today wondering if I should propagate it.
I recently got a goldfish vine plant- took it home And it’s leaves are falling off I’ve kept it watered and moved it to more sunny spot still leaves on floor everywhere
When it comes to pest sometimes I think the treatment can be worse than the affliction. Same thing kind of goes for repotting. I kind of think of it like the overuse of antibiotics or other medications.
I’ve been struggling with my Monstera deliciousa 😩 I’ve had 13 years and it was Vining so I cut some of it back and put the cuttings back in the pot so it can grow fuller but the older part of the plant started dying off 🤦🏻♀️I guess it got mad at me because it’s barely coming back after two years from when I cut it
My syngonium albo died recently. I think I under watered it then over watered it. Oops. I also have had much with my variagated bear paw. In it's constantly falling no matter where I put it. I can't figure the watering quite right. But it's so cute and fuzzy i hope I don't kill it.
I get it, I'm having problems with my silver sword, wyettii, and peace lillie, I'm thinking my silver sword needs chopped, and I think I'm gonna try growing my peace lillie in water, it's from my dad's funeral and I'd hate to lose it but I do have a couple more that are thriving so it's not like I wouldn't have plants from his funeral but I'm gonna try to save it!!
Uhggg don't get me going on philodendron brandiatum .... Mine basically lives inside of my humidifier... Last winter it got so bad, that I threw brandy's ass into a Ziploc bag... She's a diva that one... HIGH maintenance
I'm glad I didn't get that kind of discidia and got a thicker leaf kind because I have no doubt that's what mine would've looked like. The plant gods must've been looking out for me 🤣

I had an inner variegated spider plant. It did well for a while, until it didn't. Got an outer one, like it a lot better and so far it's doing well

I'm struggling with similar plants (similar genus).
Hoping that Spring will come early, and things will bounce back🤞🤞

Haha, yeah, sometimes drama is really oblver the top with these plants.. 😅
Right now my parlor palm is on the struggle bus. I think I left it dry too long so I’m paying close attention to it. Thanks for the language lesson!

I would chop the mamei and more light and water for the elephant bush. Mine gets a lot of sun and I water every week to 10 days.
Yup, thats in plans 🤞😬
My elephant bush drops leaves every year and then I put it out on the backyard and she comes back beautiful
I was hoping its "their thing", will update in spring!🤭

Yeah, freakin drama queens.. 😬
I have a verrucosum cutting. It has sent out a root and beginning to get its first leaf. It’s living in a ziplock bag for now. 🤞
I'm glad I didn't get that kind of discidia and got a thicker leaf kind because I have no doubt that's what mine would've looked like. The plant gods must've been looking out for me 🤣
I have trouble keeping Zamioculcas zamiifolia alive. I live in a drafty old Victorian house. They seem to last a couple months and then die overnight.
Hmm, and there are no corners without drafts? 🤔
First! 🤞☺️
Oh youuuuuuuu!
