Introduction
This video show you how to make a beautiful water candle in a very cheap way.
Things we will need:
1.Glass cup
2.Water
3.Lamp oil( or cooking oil)
4.Candle wick
5.Compass
6.Scissor
7.Tape
8.Transparent sheet
9.Food coloring (optional)
10.Marbles
11.Small stones
Procedure:
1.Draw a circle on a transparent sheet and make a hole in the centre
2.Cut the circle out
3.Thread the transparent sheet with wick
4.Cut the extra wick
5.Use the tape to fix the wick
6.Add some marbles into the glass cup
7.Pour the water into the glass cup
8.Add some lamp oil into the glass cup
9.Put the wick on the top
10.Fire the wick, complete!!
Notes:
1.Make sure whole wick was soaked with oil when put it into the glass cup
2.The longer the wick, the larger the flame of the water candle
3. the candle can last for several hours and the plastic will not be burnt

+Sarfaraz Riya Das Anwar Make a hole take an ear bud or Q-tip, dip it in oil, and light it. Or take the left over stick from the incense stick, wound up some cotton,dip in oil and light. :)
+Kichōna San mine worked for 8 hrs. It really depends on the wick and the oil quantity.

About how long do these burn? I was thinking about making them for a baby shower and would like them to burn until the shower is over!
Pa Kou Yang you mean a shower with an actual baby? the humidity would put the candle out and why would you ever leave candles on around a baby
if you mean like a regular baby shower with no water, still, candles + baby =/= safe

1) if you dont have plastic sheet, use plastic water bottles
2) if you dont have a wick, get a birthday candle
3) if you dont have lamp oil, use regular cooking oil
4) if you dont feel like decorating your candle, DEALWITHIT
if you dont have regular cups yse plastic ones

Hate candles but when I was in school I totally loved looking at this but I used cooking oil . When the oil ran out do did the light . Over a stupid candle this is happiness.

I love DIY's, I really wanna try this where did you get the lamp oil and that clear thing.
You can use cooking oil in place of lamp oil. It's simply available in the market. The clear thing is a plastic sheet, which you can get from a stationery shop.

you can use any oil and any colors. I do use cooking oil.

Is there any way to make it scented, like could you put a few drops of essential oil into the water or something?
I understand you camera wouldnt pick it up (the glowing effect) i used to have that until i switched mine to night mode. Check and see if you have that...or tap screen and a line with a sun/moon should come up and scroll with your finger towards the moon symbol.

It's cool if but not a candle candle. It doesn't have wax which is what makes a candle a candle. It doesn't even have a color or scent. This is just a wick in water

Anugya Yadav I wouldn't think so as the heat from the flame could ignite the plastic or melt it. Plastic and fire don't normally go together well.
