- Awww, coffee beans. Coffee goes by many a names, the give of life, lifer juice, liquid gold, the elixir of life, go juice and many many others. I just call it an incredible medium for making. The possibilities are endless. I've made pens, bowls, tea lights and even ring boxes out of them. But, this may be what they were meant for. I make something for a local coffee shop as a thank you for helping the community. This is how I did it. Make sure to watch till the end to see everything.

I bet the shop smelled AMAZING during this project!
Actually, it didn't really have the coffee bean smell except with I routed the sides. But it's smelt really good then.
Great looking Cheese Board Ken ! Thumbs up as always Brother
Thanks 👍
Something like this with depressions for cups would be a cool kitchen display/decoration
I almost used the CNC to make cup imprints.
I love a good coffee bean project. Great work, Ken!
You and me both!
Turned out really nice without ever turning. Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Can't go wrong with coffee projects. If you ever do more with coffee beans, a serving tray for breakfast in bed would be cool. Now I'm going to go make myself some coffee. 😂☕
Sounds like a great idea!
@@MoonpieCreations
You could always put cheese and crackers with some little, fake wine bottles in one of these boards too. 😂👍
😬
Nice job, Ken. I liked the way you embedded the beans. They both turned out looking good.
Thanks 👍
When you poured that cactus juice over the beans, I thought it was some of that there Army coffee I drank back in the early '90's. 🤣 You did a nice job on those boards.
Hahahhaha
Zak needs that at his coffee shop....
He’s the one I made the first one for 😊
This would make an awesome cribbage board!!
I think it really would.
Love coffee projects they make the shop smell amazing! Also loving the intros!
Yes! Thank you!
I truly like every single video you have brother and I love watching you make things because it helps me further my hobby. I am going to put in the hard work and one day I will be as big as you. I do have a UA-cam channel but I only posted one video because I can’t for the life of me figure it out how to add it and all of that stuff. Anyhow, thank you for sharing, sir. ONE LOVE TO ALL…
Thank you Patrick. I truly appreciate your support over the years.
Great looking cheese board. 👍👍👍👍😎
Thank you 😋
This would be a really cool for a backslash on a counter top. It's always cool to do something different. Hope you're doing well buddy
That's a great idea!
Really neat, Ken. I think you are right about the finish. Table top resin would probably be a better choice. Also, ALL of your intros are badass.
Bill
Thanks 👍
Beautiful boards
Glad you like them!
Need to use those ancient corn kernels that come in all different colors!! =D
Haha, cool idea.
It was really fun watching you. Makes me think i could try it. Stay cool too.
It's not to hard and you could just use a sander instead of a planner.
Good stuff. So many different things can be made from something like that.
Absolutely.
What a fun idea!
Thanks Dellani
Very nice ☕️ ❤
Thank you 😊
Those looked delicious!😋
They sure smell delicious.
Cool Beans!
Bahahaha
Beautiful
Thank you
Cool Beans!! I like it!
Thanks!
Very inspirational video. I don't have a lathe but I do have a planer and table saw so maybe I can try something like this. Thanks.
You can do it!
Cool beans!!
Hahahaa
The boards turned out beautifully Ken. I really like how the smoky coloring adds interest to the piece. The video reminded me of one by Black Forest Wood Co where they made a resin coffee bean table for Graham Stephan (Iced coffee hour). Your board would look fantastic on that table
Thanks Roni. I will have to go check out that video. I must have missed it.
Cool project, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I really like this one. Very cool.
Glad you like it!
I like this project. Simple. I would have done the board a little wider but that's just me. Those thinner boards just don't seem right, but people like them I guess lol.
The reason it is the width it is is because you can make 4 coasters from this also. Kind of a two for one mold.
@@MoonpieCreations that makes tones more sense.
Very nice sir have a great day ✌️
Thanks, you too!
Very nice!
Thanks!
And I love it btw
Thank you.
Beautiful clock. Yea, just slow the CNC down a little.
Thanks James
hey bud nice project almost good to eat lol
Thanks
In Japan, this is called a "Sushigeta". literally translated, that means "a wooden shoe upon which sushi is served"....
Nice!!!
Last time I saw Ben Affleck on video, he was playing Batman.
This time he is making epoxy art.
Haha, believe it or not, this isn't first time someone has commented on this.
Looks fantastic, Ken 😍
Thanks so much
Why cactus juice?
It helps stabilize the beans.
What an intro badass 1st pour was the best for me lol got a bit board of this lol no I didn't purely said that for the funny yes I'm that age puns amuse me looked awesome both did can't remember if I saw you do another coffee one if it wasn't you a coffee cup wood be cool with a nice burl base and coffee beans up the sides anyway this was sweet keep it up
P. S when I saw the router I to had flash backs the fear of no regular uploads chilled me
I haven't done another coffee bean board, but did a coffee cup and a bowl.
@@MoonpieCreations that was it a cup and bowl thought it was you all awesome to be fair
Like the project but for what you did, the beans do not need to be stabilized. Soak them in acetone to remove the outer oil. Then let air them dry and you are good to go.
I use the beans for more than this. If you don’t stabilize them they chip out and don’t take a resin coating very well.
Looks cool! I’ve been wanting to make a serving tray with coffee beans but can’t figure out how to get rid of bubbles. I don’t have a pressure pot or vacuum. Anyway…g’job! I love this stuff!
Thickset Fathom and pouring slow. Them every hour use the heat gun or torch to pop bubbles.
@@MoonpieCreations Thanks! I’ll give it a shot.
Next time do nuts, beans, dry fruit, dry flowers
That would.....I......Would?.....Might look neat, but boy I think it would e hard to sell. Maybe?
My wife “why do you laugh every time he plays that song?” Me: “it’s from a funny movie I once saw” 🤫
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
All I could hear was "it rubs the lotion on its skin, or it gets the hose again" when you were spreading the resin with your gloves
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I don't mean to roast your beans here, but was there a chip or something on the board you showed at the end, near your finger.
I think you saw a dimple in the finish.
Bill is right, it was a dimple. But I see what you did there. Nice word play. 😂
Went to buy! Free shipping isn't free😢
I’m not sure what you mean? I ship all my pieces free to anywhere in US
@Moonpie Creations don't know..I went to pay, shipping to Colorado, it added a ship charge& tax.
Don't get the point of the video
I don’t either, but people are watching it. So must be something there.
Cutting through the beans when squaring the board up afterwards is preventable with a bit of forethought vs jeopardizing the integrity of the epoxy by exposing them to air and ca glue.
The flood coat of resin covered the perfectly. Thanks.
