- Sir Brian May has been awarded a knighthood by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
As the virtuoso guitarist in rock band Queen, the 75-year-old is responsible for some of the biggest riffs in popular music, from the solo on Don’t Stop Me Now to the melodic strums of Somebody To Love.
Alongside late frontman Freddie Mercury, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor, he scored numerous number ones during the group’s ’80s heyday, touring the world.
After being honoured at the palace, Sir Brian admitted that he’s “thinking” about going on tour this year.

Astronomer, physicist, singer, songwriter, multiple instrumentalist, and proud member of Queen. Dr. Brian May, you did a good job in music and science.
Brian May deserves this. He's the very image of a British gentleman that never stopped excelling. Well done, Sir Brian!
Great to see an Astronomer knighted. Well done Dr May!
The King is putting together a rock band at the round table.
1974, I am a FAN.
I am soooooooo pride and happy.
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶👑💯🥳🥳💖💖
Not only a highly tallented musician but a very inteligent man who keeps up with the astronomy he studied in college before Queen was formed
Congratulations to Brian May, it's wonderful to see how happy he is. We Queen fans are very proud that our star received this award
Congratulations SIR BRIAN! 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Congratulatons Brian! From HUNGARY! THANK YOU!
Congrats Sir Dr Brian. I do show off to my friends as if you, John, Freddie and Roger are my uncles. Best musicians EVER👑💝
Já devia ter recebido o Título de Sr. A muito tempo ❤
Well deserved....
Congratulations....
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nice to see someone accept this award with dignity and respect. This is for the people as much as the recipient. Turning down an award like this is basically giving the middle finger to the country that has educated you, kept you safe and given you every opportunity to get where you are.
All the so-called British celebs who have turned it down over the years need to get over themselves and and show a bit of gratitude.
Congratulations Dr Sir Brian Harold May CBE ❤well deserved ❤❤❤❤
❤
Don’t forget when Brian and Roger sat with Charles and Diana at Live Aid.
Congratulations Sir ❤
it's about time
Congratulations
Long live to King Charles, Congradulations Sir Brian! Axios!
A chocolate teapot award
Unlike your own Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Nonentities.
The definition of selling out.
what does that even mean? This is like getting a medal of honour as a soldier.
Not sure if a rockstar or King George II
Also Prince Charles gave him a magic, holy guitar.
What bollox 😅
Pity
Badger lover!
During this grandiose ceremony, Brian stuffed a badger down Charles' pants.
Um what?
@@littlemissblackdress7587 Brian's always badgering on.
@@littlemissblackdress7587 Brian clones them using astrophysics and releases teeming hordes of them onto the streets of London at night.
united nation says i am known that united nation head is traveling in india but he is not giving to government jobs holder to nagendra and united nation are giving government job power
Why
why not? he is one of the most known musicians from UK and has literally worked with NASA multiple times.
It is an incredibly corrupt honours system and I am really surprised that Brian accepted. It is particularly hard to understand how an animal rights activist can accept a known corrupt award from a hereditary head that loves hunting, fishing and shooting and has lobbied for hunting with dogs to continue. These awards are given to many who pay for them as well as pedophiles, crooks, fraudsters etc
Just lost all respect for Brian May.
How sad. He is always so courteous when he speaks of you.
Oh I’m sure he tosses and turns all night after hearing this lol 😂

🤣🤣🤣..that's what I was thinking..do they really think that multi millionaire, rock god, guitar legend, Dr sir Brian May gives a rats hoop if someone he's never met or heard of has "lost all respect " for him...I'm sure he cries into his pillow in his multi million pound mansion at night
