    If the U6N is as good as the U7K then it's going to be the best value TV of 2024 right beside the U7N if it's as good as the U8K, that's because those TVs were fantastic, fairly accurate with VERY minor flaws (DSE and some software quirks). TCL isn't that accurate most of the time, Hisense can do both vibrant and accurate so I think they can cater to both types of users. HDTV Test's comparison of the different Mini LED TVs showed that for the price, you CAN'T go wrong with the Hisense TVs considering that Samsung struggles as well. If these TVs have the mediatek pentonic chipset then the gradients would be top class as well, certifying them as the GOATs of the year in terms of value. Sony is great and all with its X90 series now but 200-ish zone contrast can't be beat with 90 zones. If the X90M has the specs of the X93L/X95K then it's going to be an interesting battle this year!

      I'm commenting on a 100" U8K i picked up for ONLY $3K! during Black Friday sales. And it is amazing! Some of the best picture quality I've ever seen! The highlights had me literally "WOWWWW!"ing out loud. I've rewatched favorite movies and seen them like I've never seen them before!
      From the sounds of it, the 100" U8K will remain as an option in the 2024 lineup and I would anticipate Hisense prices it down to the same $3-3.5K price range, so I think that makes it a VERY compelling option! The 2024 TCL 98" QM7 with 2400 nits and 1500 local dimming zones as well, but likely cost a bit more.

    Brightness without control is a dim solution.
    10, 000 nits! It's the highlights that matter and you need to use it judiciously as Caleb said - ideally the brightest mode kicks in on a super bright day where the light floods from all your windows and your TV just needs to go ultra bright in order to capture the F1 track on the desert and then needs the extra "oomph" to show a highlight like the sun on that screen as opposed to maxing out and looking dull.
    If a cloud suddenly covers the sky and your ambient drops by 30% which is exactly what happened as I typed this 😀, your TV's brightness needs to compensate by 30% which is why the light sensor has, is, and will to be the most important processing tool on your TV.

      I own an X90L and it does not “spank” the U8K. Measurably better in many important areas? Sure, but Sony’s processing is overrated IMO (and if you’re using local apps you’re doing it wrong anyway).

    • @randallsmith2521
      @randallsmith2521 10 місяців тому

      @@johnm202 I generally don't use local apps, especially not on Hisense. I've found their GoogleTV implementation to be buggy. With that being said, the XR clear image tech doesn't make a massive difference to me. Yes, I think streams on the Sony look a little better, but not enough to justify the price difference IMHO.
      The only area where I think the u8K outperforms the X90L is gaming. And then not by much.
      I've had an opportunity to play with both TVs. Neither to the extent someone like Caleb has had them, but enough for my own purposes. Sony's motion processing is miles ahead of Hisense. It's not even close. I notice it with sports and with movies (especially older movies). Sony's color is also much better. While I don't have the equipment to measure color accuracy, I can see a distinct difference in how the TVs present skin tones with similar settings. I also encounter more banding with the U8K than the X90L.
      It boils down to this for me (and again, my opinion) - Hisense has a much brighter TV. If I need the brightness and I don't want to spend QN90C or X93L/X95L money then Hisense would be my choice. But I don't need that brightness. I would much rather have a picture that is closer to what the director wanted me to see. That is Sony's strength. That is why my media room will most likely have a 75" Sony X90L.

    • @TIMMAYY7
      @TIMMAYY7 10 місяців тому +5

      Sony's processing mainly has an advantage in the upscaling department, upscaling old lower resolution SD content to 4K.. but honestly MOST content nowadays is at least 1080p, and if you are often consuming 4K content like I am, there's considerably less processing advantage (yes, Sony's motion processing is also tops). After considering both myself, I ended up going with the U8K (100"), especially when price/value was taken into account.

    • @Yoga_Tv_buying
      @Yoga_Tv_buying 9 місяців тому

      It’s not but close. The U76N is QLED, the U7N is Mini LED. The U76N has around like 260-280 local dimming zone. BUT it is FULL Array local dimming, VA, but very high end visual anyway. So if u look up 2020 Samssung Q90T Q80T (very high end QLED) ( 120hz , VApanel clean glossy). That’s what will look like. Even tho they are OLED, but companies are Able to make their Flagship INCKY black. So that Q90T Q80T looked BETTER than OLED. The 2021 2022 2023…Samsung mini LED. They were bit LESS INCKY black even tho they were mini led. Because they wre preparing for the QD-OLED S95B launch. So the QLED itself could be MADE veyr high end black if the company is willing to make them that way not worrying MESSING with the high end Mini LED market. I am used to high zone count led now i can see differnce, but going from 14-15 away visual…zoom OUT. Ppl wont see much cuz zoom OUT. N 100” so much more immersive!!!
      I could suggest the Sony X90L , Also a QLED. But X90L so inferior (X90L- 65”-80 local cimming , 75” 120count. . So around the SAME -local dimming density as X90L).
      But X90L has WAY sever Blooming, n low color, n its MATTe screen. To me it’s hell no.

      This is futureproofing. There's almost no 8K content and almost no content that bright NOW, but that will probably change in the future.
      I think we're going to get more 4K HDR sports broadcasts in the next few years as well as they figure out ways to do it without the exorbitant expense.
      Is an 8K or 10,000-nit TV pointless overkill now? You bet.
      Will that always be the case? I don't know. I also wonder why these gigantic TVs are 4K instead of 8K where they can really make use of that 110" or 115" screen. I want to sit (or stand/walk) two feet from a giant 8K TV and use a part of it as a 4K monitor while splitting that up into four 1080p zones. 😂 On a 96" 8K TV, that's like having 16 24" 1080p monitors for ultimate multitasking.

    At least from a specs and performance perspective, Hisense is really upping their game for 2024, no question about it. They present well and they have impressive specs, but the issue with both them and TCL is still overall reliability. Not enough gets said about that and I think far too many consumers fail to take reliability and failure rates into consideration when making their purchases. They just go out into the store and get easily seduced by the (relatively) low prices that companies like Hisense and TCL offer on their products. They don't realize that purchasing those lower-end brands might not have been such a smart move until later on down the road when they run into problems with them. Far more needs to be said (in ALL forms of media) about the long-term viability of these products and their historical failure rates. That's important information to have so that consumers can actually make well-informed purchasing decisions.

      @@TVEXPERT.Co.Thank you. I just think that there are a lot of reviewers and commentators out there that really don't necessarily always paint the entire picture when it comes to reviewing brands and products. Now, I understand that they don't ever want to paint a brand in a bad light because they (to at least some degree) want to be seen as in "partnership" with these brands because that grants them special/early access to information before it gets dolled out to the general public and that's how they keep the views on their channels up and growing. I get it. But at some point, the WHOLE story HAS to be told and when I the negative aspects or downsides to a brand (such as less than desirable reliability/longevity) frequently get pushed to the back burner or just simply glossed over and skipped altogether (as is FAR too often the case with MANY reviewers out there today) it ends up doing a disservice to the consumers, rather than a service. If you are going to be in the business of painting the picture for consumers about brands, then you need to be fair and honest about how you go about doing that - and you need to paint the WHOLE picture. Even the not so flattering parts and you need to be consistent in your efforts to do that. Otherwise, your credibility with consumers is going to suffer.

Sadly, that's not something that ever really gets talked about today in the media though. Historical failure rates matter because they are the leading indicator for likely future failure rates.

      I am not android user, I am iPhone person. So if U know how OLED C2 C3 A80L they are like iPhone 7S, 8, X, XS level Dim. Samsung S95B or S92C (not available in USA) are about iPhone 12-PRO level Bright. Then the S90C is like smack in the middle of iPhone XS/iPhone 11pro9those 2 same brightness) vs iPhone 12pro/13pro (those 2 r same brighness) . Then S95C is like iphone 14pro-15pro level bright.
      I know TVs are not phones. But i am using phone as what to see “why brighter is BETTER” that we didn’t know what we needed it. --any time when u have lights on, or day time…thoes --MID RANGE level of color in the shadows can get a Big boost, so they are going to go from like 600nits pop at maybe 800-900nits…even 1100nits (in day time when tv turn to bright) so like u can see a lot of image in CLEAN visual. Vs ---imagine u see complex random homeless tents under HUGE tree shadow , how much stuff can u see if they are moving??????
      So in biology class: they coach us TV watching. N WHY shedding MORE layer of light (not blinding) is MORE important THAN be more Black. Cuz our eyes are more comfortable in--MALL lighting. Than sunset or pitch black, or under the tree dim in mid day . So we can SEE everything AT glance immediately move to next image. Clean snappy. 😊 seeing things dim will take LONGer for brain to recognize it’s a “thing” vs”noise” . A DIM tv will cause yr brains to--Filter OUT a lot shadow image as “Noise” : Sunset, u see nothing at side of street except whats in front of u. Things just blur. D light on them JUST NOT ENOUGH for threshold for our BRAIN to see them in time. Brain operates as -computer constantly analyzing. So the OLED projects Image does NOT guaranty our User end how much brand land as 3D image or -Noise=> shred. If a TV bright with 1-2% Minor bolliming but high Brighness/color, things still look more 3D.
      Yeah wait for d QM8 n U8N come, then at least u wont regret. I honestly i am HUGE Samsung , Hisense fan. The s90C is great but it has little bit Too dim for me. In Bestbuy it did look Slight Zoom out in the medium shades. (When things in bright room look dim, it looks zoom out). Also it has NOT agreesive but NOTICABLE Blue tint. The egg/bunny/ cake slice demo has blue tint. Unlike Samsung S95B. But S95B did NOT come in 75”. So i assume the U8N will look MORE close to S95C if tweaked right. 😊 u better wait first.

      Okay the 2024 UX they use_ ADS-PRO panels. They are very rarely find. IF u go to Bestbuy look for Samsung QN90C. (Samsung) that Technology is diff than VA. It has very Extremely Glossy look.
      Also look for specific :Hisense U8k -75” that panel has the ADS-PRO. They are d only 2 in USA Market has that ADS-PRO. D rest are VA. So if u go to Bestbuy U8k 75” U will se that ADS-PRO U8K 75” has the highest Rating among all U8K sizes. (I only know cuz I was debating if I should wait for UX or get U8K 75”) lol.
      So the 2023 UX, it use--VA panel. Like Past Eveyr QLED/Mini LED every SONY/Samsung use, always VA.
      Ppl always make fun of VA panels like “viewing angle”. I do NOT have issues, i have 2 VA panel flagship at home. Because MINI LED has HIGH COLOR Volume. So vibrant that even at minor tilt even with like 10-15% lesser color (volume) it still has HIGHER Coloer Volume than ALL 100% OLED. C1 C2 C3 all have 7.8-7.9/10 color volume. N they look pestle especially SONY has permanently BLUE glass tint on all image. So the OLEDs when they are “GOOD in ANY angle” they are low in color volume those SONY blue, LG Green tint creates illusion of (Rich color) make shades dark pestle.
      d highest color volume Tv are Samsung S95C at 9.1/10 , the UX has 😮Wopping 9.5/10 it is DEFINITELLY the MOST Vibrant but for sure natural fluid vibrant but Relaxed color.
      Yeah u should look up FOMO’s video. I think he did say 2024 model only has 98” n 110” UX. So u might wanna grab that 85” before they officially sell out. 😂 sounds like I know a lot of that tv. Cuz i was trying to buy it. They dont sell in Canada this year. 😢

    My only question about the 110UX is, doesn’t have the color volume to match that peak luminous? Bc if it does there’s a chance they might’ve just dethroned a number of different OLED’s for the best TV you can get.

      Having 10,000 nit highlight really helps with retro content that was Mastered on cathode ray tube displays because the Dot from the electron guns on your average consumer CRT would hit 10,000 nits.
      So that means if you're watching a DVD or a Blu-ray that had been Mastered on a BVM D24, you'll finally get all the color data from that picture on an LCD.

      Hisense also claimed 95% of the BT.2020 color palette, which is even more than QD-Oled. So I wloud say this is by far the best TV in market.

      It could have 100k nits and it will not dethrone OLED. I think you’re confused like many others about MiniLED vs MicroLED…. MiniLED will not be or get better than OLED ever except for peak brightness (at least still at this stage), it will not eliminate blooming, it will not have the same contrast nor will it have the black levels, it will also not have per pixel control ever nor will it have the instantaneous response time of Oled.. MICROLED how ever is seen as the Oled beater but will not be consumer friendly for the next 5-10 years.

    Important note guys, these Hisense TVs we're seeing are the U.S variants. The EU and Asia variants has always been inferior to the U.S variants that RTINGs & DigitalTrends reviews. Be aware of this when purchasing the 2024 Hisense TVs out of the U.S as we can expect inferior variants.

      Yep, last year was shopping for a new TV and nearly bought a hisence here in Europe until I found that the EU models are different (same name) and with weaker performance and panels . Also all USA msrp prices are without tax which makes it unrealistic for immediate comparison and reference for anyone outside where usual prices already include tax and you don't need to add 20% to know how much you need to spend

      That's why, we Europeans get that lousy VIDAA OS while the Americans get Android TV
      And electrical power, must be dirt cheap in the USA to feed 10.000 nits on a 110 inch tv.

      Do yourself a favor and keep your hard earned cash. Hisense quality and reliability not up to par. How long do you think a 10k nit TV will last? That will run extremely hot and burn out the LEDs very fast. Again this is coming from a company who already has a high rate of failure on their sets. They really shouldn't be trying to push leading edge tech until they get their house in order.

    First, great video!
    But one of the cameras you're using seems to have a dead pixel in the bottom center. You can see it starting around 30 seconds in.
    Not a big deal, just gave me a mini panic attack that it was my tv lol.

    I guess I can be real thankful for Samsung for making the Q60C model TVs that are affordable for most people like me, the 55” Q60C has a beautiful clear picture to look at. 🤗
