I actually have a bit of respect for loss farmers as they definitely have more patience than most to just sit there with the slower grind. If you think about it with how slow it is just to get to level 100 by farming losses the amount of patience one must have is insane
i think it takes like 1.6k times to lose so you reeeeally have to have patience
@@wornoutsneaker that’s exactly why I respect it. Most players would give up but the dedication to loss farming is insane
Thanks
@@formuloid no it’s actually just below 1800 losses straight
Tbh I don't have any respect for them at all. It's such a weird mindset to me. Losses simply shouldn't reward anything at all, problem fixed.
I ran into a spam boarder once. I crossed their bow, put a couple of grade 3 holes in their bow then missed my board when they rammed the ass of my sloop. One jumped on my ship and the other stupidly jumped in the water with me. By the time I got back to my ship all I had to do was clear one boarder because their ship sunk and I still had plenty of time to repair.
I'll be honestly, the arena retirement folks are a mixed bag like everyone else. They're either gods, or they just got the stuff last minute before the arena closed and think its looks impressive.
My friend and I were doing hourglass, our opponent ran away as soon as 1 hole was formed in their boat, it took 2 hours to sink them.
i swear that the regular one describes me perfectly
chad pirate
I would be a supply hoarder/gifter among other things. The gifting is to keep the karmic balance😅
I’m a dice roller but if you don’t roll my dice I’m a cross between normal and ex arena player
i'm basically a loss farmer but still make an attempt to battle
Loss farmers just know HG is full of stinking cheaters so why waste time trying. Just sit back and enjoy the sink 🤣
most LSD are trash at the game
Board Spammers, ah yes The Boardlords. I was getting rolled by a ghost curse man that was just absolutely stomping me like I were a bug on the sidewalk. Luckily for me though, he lacked object permanence when it comes to his boat and the entire time he mercilessly stomped me his boat slowly filled with water from the single hole I put in it. He felt very silly afterwards and I heard him audibly facepalm when he realized
I've sunk many of these boys for exactly the same reason. I've taken to waiting until they shoot out before firing at their boat, if I get a low hit, I'll let them board then run around trying to soak up as much time as possible between each kill I let them get.
just gotta keep em distracted!
@@davidmccormick4735 As a solo sloop, I LOVE doing this. Had a lot of ram strat best strat people, especially early on in hourglass, just put a few holes in their boat before they board, and then all I gotta do is maybe some buckets if I have holes (Fun fact, if you pick up a bucket and don't throw it off your ship before you die, you respawn with an empty bucket!). Hell, once I knew I didn't have holes but they did and I chilled on the ferry, and got the win dancing on the ferry while I went to grab a beer from the fridge. No joke, this dude didn't realize when he launched that I shot his ship a few times. Boarding is almost never the best play when dealing with a sloop in HG.
@@synthemagician4686works best if you can align your damage to the back of your ship so that it's a slow leak.
I was doing a solo match on my road to 100 just today where a plain sloop showed up and raised their mast immediately, I figured they were a loss farmer and I was in for a break, but before I know it, I get one-blundered. I res and their sailing me out of bounds, I die a couple times but get them off my ship and repair, then try and take some long range shots while constantly checking for mermaids and ladder guarding- aaand I get one-blundered off my cannon again, only that time I wasn't as lucky and they kept beating me until I was too far out of bounds. I'm good on cannons but I suck at hand to hand, my heart-rate skyrockets and I get all shaky from it. This guy had the legendary curse with no shirt and was repping servants, so he probably already did Guardians or TDMed a lot back in season 1. I'm a level 45 Guardian with pretty much no progress in servants, started in season 6, and I'm average at the game. Why don't these matches cue up based on skill or level or something?
I’ve become a loss farmer not because I’m bad at pvp, but because ironically enough, it’s faster to lose and gain rep than win. I only encounter people who drag the fight out for far too long since they constantly keep running
No it isn’t 😂😂😂😂
skill issue
@@itchyrolls9153 ok
Word.
Oh whats that? You have an opinion I dont agree with? Bad. Your bad. Skill issue.
In all honesty though, I'd rather do proper pvp over loss farming, the issue is pvp isn't rewarding enough for me to wanna hunker down in those hour long battles, its much easier and more rewarding to sink 10 times in the span of an hour.
Loss Farmer: Daniel
Dice Rollers: The Cooler daniel.
cooler and nicer daniel
I do either Dice Duels or Loss Farming. For a while I came across an “armada” of Hunters Call fanboys. All with Merrick look alike’s and the coat. They did a “first to a trophy fish, no recasting” challenge. Won a couple, lost many more. They gifted me pineapples.
Stealing that idea pirate
For solo sloop grinders who don’t want to loss farm or initiate die rolls: You’d be shocked how many people you can beat who are better than you by abusing the “spam board” mentality. I swear a third of my solo wins come from me getting spawn camped (or sometimes me intentionally not killing them on my boat) while they slowly sink or sail out of bounds.
I’m kind of a scared naveleer too honestly when I’m alone, maybe it makes them impatient and I end up winning…although it makes a lot of fights go really long.
Long story short, if you are solo, REPAIR YOUR BOAT before you board (unless your opponent is literally seconds from sinking, your boat is close to repaired and losing the 1v1 won’t immediately cause you to lose the fight)
It's a viable strategy, especially solo
If someone boarding you right away and spawn camping you doesn't steer your ship out of the circle while doing it, then they aren't there to win. Their only purpose is to either spawncamp you which is toxic, or just get better at deck fighting, not to win lol
I do this I call it the spawn and bucket strat
-literally just a runner lol
Im the supply hoarder/gifter i always collect a ton of supplies but because it hurts me to sink them when i quit playing i normally give them to other crews or at least load as much as i can into storage crates and leave them at an outpost.
and you bless those players that need them
occasionally i’ll do that once i’m feeling good abt my 10 streak i’ll usually collect all my supplies nd leave it where other player boats spawn so there’s no way they’ll miss a couple storage crates on the dock :)
I'm personally a loss farmer, at first because I suck at PvP but I've embraced it because I'm tired of fighting for an hour straight only to lose. I play games to have fun, not to sweat, and I wanna look good while I do PvE stuff because I play games to enjoy the experience and the friends you make along the way. I may get a lot of flak from this but I don't care. I personally don't enjoy Hourglass but I really want the Ghost curse, and I don't want to spend that time grinding constantly being in hour long battles only to lose, it affects my mental state greatly and I personally don't have the time for Hourglass. I have a job and bills to pay, and I just want to get the dang Ghost curse, and if I have to farm losses to do it, so be it.
And this guy had the legendary curse with no shirt and was repping servants, so he probably already did Guardians or TDMed a lot back in season 1. I'm a level 45 Guardian with pretty much no progress in servants, started in season 6, and I'm average at the game. Why don't these matches cue up based on skill or level or something? Also, have you gotten The Blessing yet, fellow Guardian?
I'm a Regular turned Dice-Roller out of necessity. Most regular PvP matches last way too long and the grind for those curses is just ridiculous.
I'll be the first to admit, I'm pretty trash at PvP but I still enjoy a good fight regardless. I just started dice-rolling mostly to save time. I honestly didn't realize I was cutting anyone else a break besides myself lol
Some additional details:
1) Noobs will rage at you for firing at their boat even if you try to explain to them what the hourglass means. While most Newbs will either blankly stare at you or laugh about how unprepared they were.
2) Scared Navalers have one of two reactions if you use chainshots, anchorballs and/or riggingballs. They either can and will rage at you for using game mechanics they didn't account for, or they'll laugh their asses off because you keep knocking their mast down as soon as they lift it up.
3) If a Hacker has a microphone, don't offer immediately after dying. Hearing what they say and how they say it can give you a firsthand peek at what sadness and desperation for attention sounds like. They are the middle children of SoT, but their behaviour proves they never aged past 9.
4) TDMers have a massive overlap with Boardlords.
5) Spam Boarders, aka Boardlords, seem to have a large overlap with Arena refugees. Both because of their blue cosmetics, and the fact that as soon as you blunderbomb them off your ladder, you'll find out why a gamemode that only had 5% of the playerbase somehow was the source of 80% of toxicity reports. And if they see you with a sword equipped, they will verbally violate the Geneva Convention. If you made a venn diagram of Arena Refugees, Boardlords, and TDMers; shouting every gamer word in the book at the sight of a sword would be the circle in the middle.
I laughed multiple times reading this comment. so true.
Ironically I was talking with a guy who actually helms for a professional team and he uses a sword instead of a blunder
Listen I’d be counted as a scared naveleer but it’s not intentional cuz I don’t know how to steer the ship properly so every encounter I don’t have angle but they do so it just seems that I’m running away but in reality I don’t how to helm
@@ducklord3620 that’s understandable though at least with the helms I play with we take advantage of it and we wouldn’t assume your running
Unless your actually trying to run
@@ducklord3620 That's just inexperience then, not being a scared navaler.
If you're solo slooping like I do, try raising sails halfway as soon as your boat leaps out of the water: makes it easier to adjust for good angles.
Hey I’m only a loss farmer when there’s double xp so I can do some uni work in the background
i mean if it's for the uni work
If you're one of those people who goes into hourglass battle and then runs around trying to avoid your enemy the whole time, why? If after 3 hours you manage to beat him, you still wasted 3 hours on one battle. You could have lost four times. It got the same amount of rep and still had leftover time to do more battles before your 3 hours were up.
If you go into an hour last battle just fight you lose you go again. It's not that bad and if you keep fighting at some point you may find you actually start winning
Went from 0 to ~80 something solo as a regular. Got tired of the grind and went from there to 100 as a roller. I have no shame.
fair enough!
Loss farmers aren’t trying to get a title to show off without doing the work, we just wanna see the godamn hideouts rare put behind a skill wall
“I love you because you probably don’t hear it enough” what a great quote! I’ll have to use that sometime 😉
Cant help but feel like Dice Rollers are just Loss Farmers with extra Steps
decent loss farmers
Loss farmers who also win sometimes
I did not expect such quality with so few views, nice video man
i appreciate it!
do good in school kids
fr
I was very good at school but I can't find a good job
No
i’m trying 🙏🙏
I got respect for loss farmers, dudes are always chill and they have to farm 1,600 losses
When losing is winning
They can’t lose
As a Supply Gifter, I always appreciate when the gift recipient is open to chat about how the Hourglassing is going for a few minutes before my time has come.
3:36 and what's wrong with that you say it like it's a bad thing you get more and more supplies if you dont lose in hourglass
I have legit never ran into a dice roller lmao
to be honest, me neither! but i’ve just heard about it so much and i talk about it as a meme so i figured i had to mention
I've met quite a few, pretty chill guys.
Honestly I dont understand why people shit on the loss farmers. They are just wanting cool cosmetics and are wanting to play the game how they want (almost as if games were meant to be fun) plus you get free supplies and a win, how is that bad?
I'm an honest loss-farmer. I have never been good at PVP, but i do like the cosmetics such as the curses. No shame in being one!
I'm a pathetic loss farmer. I just want the skeleton and ghost curse for role-play, but I suck at pvp. 3 years trying to get better, but I never do and never will. So go ahead and send me to hell.
Get treasure lower hourglass
In getting to Guardians 20 solo, I can say I try to be the first, but I come across as the scared sailor soley because I'm super bad at managing my wheel and predicting where my enemy will be so we both end up spinning around like stripped gears never making true contact.
3:58 i met one of these guys
he was at reaper's outpost selling, and he said something like "yo you can just take my supplies, im getting off"
they are chill dudes
I do this literally any time I get off a server. If nobody is around I just stuff storage crates with everything and leave it on the dock or in the tavern doorway. Most of us old school players do hoping someone spawns into a server with a nice surprise and already fully stocked ready to go 👍
I'm a scared navaler and for good reason
I never did pvp when I played in the games early years. I always ran. I never engaged in pvp. I always ran cause I always lose. But when season 8 was revealed and saw all the good stuff was locked behind pvp I was not happy cause I felt forced. So I had to learn the hard way. I solo'd my way to the top. Losing rapidly to improving. But I did broadsides and after getting one balled I realized it was a bad idea cause my ship sunk by the time I got back to my ship so if I get holes I break off to avoid dying before I can repair. Mainly due to lack of confidence. I may have gotten better to the point I win fights in adventure more often I still can't aim cannons and if someone boards I'm screwed cause I have little experience in close combat so I learned to defend ladders to compensate.
But I run from damage cause I know it's a fight I can't risk so I always run from too much damage which makes people so mad. I don't do it to be annoying, I do it cause it's a strategy I had to develop due to scenarios I experienced. I have no friends in this game so I was always on my own. I had to do certain things just to survive.
But at least I got my ghost curse
You forgot about the people who ask for invites to the opposing crews ships so both people get rep
thought about that, but that was removed
Or so we can use the HG method of getting a TDM
@@sSteppingStones Thats super selfish, you are basically asking some random guy to stop fighting in a pvp mode just so you and your friend can tdm.
@@Jallu555 I'm a pirate TDMer mate you can do what I want in sot
I am the TDMer but i do give the win after, unless they pipe up. But Us TDMers and the Ex arena players are the same thing, if we cant get tdm canr get on their boat and camp them out cuz they are a blunder sword bot, just navel them sink them and say Should have TDMed
rip
What a loser "Play my way or i'm gonna ruin all your fun"
I feel like there's no shame or guilt in loss-farming, if you're specifically after the Legendary Curse. This is NOT a PVP curse, despite what others will tell you. This was given to literally everyone, if you played at a certain time. And there's been no other way of obtaining it afterwards. And hey, if you're so horny for HG, why are you complaining about having your streak go higher for free once or twice? You're welcome, pal.
Either you push through the growing pains of becoming a better player or you give up and become a loss farmer. I've noticed many loss farmers are extremely fragile and petulant if you dare shoot at their boat as they sail by. Just the thought of doing PVP sends them into a frenzy. It's hilarious.
Maybe if hourglass was more fun, had more modes, more rewards, more incentives to play, it wouldn't be a dying mode
Had a guy join our crew first thing he was doing was shit talking his last crew for”being bad” he demanded to be helm and had both the skeleton and ghost curse yet his naval was absolute trash.Never left wheel couldnt keep angle to save his life constantly asking us weather he was facing the rite direction as if it was impossible for him to just check himself. And the whole time was pretty much just trying to show off his cosmetics. We where doing a fof and a brig showed up we chases them a little i anchored them TWICE and neither time did he captialize on it and actually sink them loss farming is the only possible explanation i have for this guy would not shut up constantly yelling to lower and raise sails always super late as to when we actually shouldve been doing that and you could just tell if we sunk hed have rage quit immediately and blaimed the loss on the rest of his crew after all hes the helm his only job is sitting on wheel his crew is the ones who should be doing everything else.
What if im just trying to collect curses and i dont want to learn an entirely new way to fight in pvp when everyone else is already at god level (im losses farming when im solo
Shit im lsd and dont got goest curse...
it took me 2 months of pvp so many losses and not enough wins cuz im again sweats everytime idk why but i finally have it...
now i gotta get the legend curse..
50 plus ranks, due to loss farming. Cant to prime time matches, 5 out 8 matches you get a hacker.
The 10 types of Hourglass Crews:
1: Blatantly cheating
2: Bad at cheating
3-10: Just cheaters?
honorable mentions: no-game-knowledge having cheaters
I've been called a loss farmer but in reality im just really bad at pvp. Like I'm trying my best out there man.
Not me being LSD and still shit at the game (I haven't invested myself in pvp since arena closed) 😭
As a Dice Roller I can firmly say it’s way better than loss farming got to 83 in less than a week’s time
I swear Im not a loss farmer Im just shit at pvp lmao so I do a lot of gambling for wins and I still aint one a single dice roll either!
At least I tend to use the double-loss exp thingy
Cut the loss farmers a little slack maybe they've just tried enough and got nowhere and now their spirits are broken lol
I hate thst people complain about loss farmers, you get a free win out of it, worry about your own self lol
I have an issue with dice rollers who come after me in DMs because I sunk them instead of rolling
I’m usually going for streaks. Sorry, I’m not leaving it to a 50/50 when I nearly have a 100% chance of winning. It’s not my fault you wanted to roll in a PvP mode
yeah makes sense that it would be annoying if they went out of their way to dm you
I don’t tend to do dice rolls myself either, would rather fight it out with either a win or loss. or just sail myself out give the win and start over, same results in the end either way.
I’ve never won a fight vs players so I just accept my sink
You forgot about solo galley or brig players that hop on at 3 am and farm 30+ win streaks with their other 3 friends while the server is dead
aw crap
If you think about it Dice rolling is loss farming with extra steps
i find it really annoying when u keep gettign matchmade against that one cracked player
Im a loss farmer mostly because i ran out of fucks to give for pvper's XD
I flip a coin with the emporium emote to see who scuttles
they call it
theres a taunt for taht shesh may as well becoem a dice roller but be a subclass.... the coin flipper lol
When you play PvP enough you’ll understand why there are loss farmers
Personally loss farmer but that because i dont care about the pvp to get better or to even try
I don’t know why the tdm rats are always asking do you have tdm I mean what is a tdm
I’ve actually never ran into a hacker in sea of thieves
Too accurate lol. Awesome video tho! I swear I always run into the spam boarders when I'm trying to run solo PVP and have no backup.
Was absolute garbage when I started my grind for the skelly curse at the start of season 8, end of season 8 mostly thanks to community day and the double rep week, I got my curse. I consider myself a regular when it comes to pvp, but I’m slowly grinding towards 1000 for dem golden bones. Atm sitting at 241, honestly I’m in no rush to get to 1000, just a long term goal I have so as to finish my time in hg and begin pulling shinigans on the seas themself.
Bro the scared ones are so irritating. I usually have respect for however people want to play a game but they will drag the game out for a solid hour if they have to and they totally refuse to admit defeat even when they’re out of supplies because for some reason they don’t do a quick supply run before diving. They’ll then either run around in circles desperately trying to find scraps to use against you, turn away and keep making failed board attempts which when they miss they will throw fire bombs, or lastly they’ll just up and run endlessly until you have to leave. It is MISERABLE playing against those people.
Tip against boarders, board the boardlord ship, throw fire balls, return to ship, bucked, aact like your trying but don’t actually kill him (also anchor if needed), profit
Arena Retiree's MY @55. Those are aimhack players. Every single "LSD/TSD" I've sailed with into HG has been an overboasting pile of 'meh' If the other crew tags out every interactable and 1-balls every crewmate; its ESP or other aimbot programs.
Some changes they could make to hourglass to make it better in my opinion. Xp awards for activities in the battle (with caps of course) these would be divided between offensive and defensive actions. Examples of offensive actions would be, Hitting cannon shots. Disabling mast. Breaking enemy wheel. Getting kills. These actions would award the most xp as they require the most skill to do. Defensive actions would be things regarding your own ship such as repairing. And killing enemies on your own ship. These actions would award less xp as they take less skill to do. And then you would have passive xp gained for how long the battle lasted. Up to a max of 15 minutes. The xp gained from winning and losing would stay the same as the bonuses from the aforementioned activities would satisfy both sides. The losing side gets compensated for thier effort and the winning side gets even more xp than before. Next to solve the issue of people running away you can have the battle zone shrink over time to force both sides into conflict. Right now the arena size is to generous making it easy to stall and run. Having the zone shrink over time would fix this. And it would also make each battle more consistent as you would know that no matter what each fight will only be 15 minutes for example as that's how long it would take for the battle zone to shrink all the way and begin to red sea damage both ships until one sinks.
"Boardlords" aren't there to win the match. They're literally only there to spawn camp. If they're killing you repeatedly and not steering you out of the circle to win then they're legit just there to spawn camp new guys OR to get better at deck fighting, not win the match.
I'm not a hourglass player but when I need to log off and have a ton of supplies, you bet I'm gonna vote hourglass down and give all my supplies to the opposing ship.
Thanks for calling me MrBeast bro
im a dice roller and why eh allows me to give wins sometimes sheesh if i get 2 in a row i just give the the opposite faction my lvl 5 flag lol i dont scuttle i just ask em to shoot me so i still get loss exp and i do this in my free time when i dont have a crew on lol
Reminder that just choosing to reset when possible if you’re at a significant disadvantage but can get away isn’t being scared. You’re not obligated to decide the outcome of a battle in one spiral or parallel. What is _actually_ annoying is when someone runs out of supplies and _then_ they avoid your ship like the plague for an hour.
Yup I'm definitely a regular
You forgot to mention the hackers are almost exclusively sloop players. 50% of the sloop matches ive gotten have been hackers vs galleons where none have been hackers. 50% of my brig ones were hackers too(ive only done 2)
Hourglass completely ruined my enjoyment of the game. It's sweaty, grindy, and unfun. I just wanted to get a curse that I've been asking for since launch. I've since uninstalled, and refuse to play until they address the fundemental issues with the gamemode.
you gon wait a while bud
@@wornoutsneaker I hope not, it's got fundamental issues that need addressing.
what issues with the gamemode? Believe it or not, Sea of Thieves is a grindy game. That curse is a reward for having patience, dedication, and being great at PvP. Sorry to break it to you but you don't need those curses, and nobody cares about them if they see them on you. If you don't like grinding then you shouldn't have been playing this to begin with. If you don't like PvP then you shouldn't be trying to get the curses. Simple as that
I haven't done PVP yet because I'm anxious and tend to freeze up during stressful moments. Still, I'd like to give HG a shot, just to see how it is.
im the same...i tried to get better at PVP but i might became a loss farmer i just want the ghost curse since i dont really like the skelly curse, when i reach 105 for athena i will never touch that gamemode again.
@@rubensantos3489 i don't know why but when i tried HG last time for some reason most of the cheats i deal with seem to be athena even when going against people of the same faction (i'm grinding servants) and 90% of the athena's i deal with also have a LV5 emmisary
@@Shakon_Krogen I don't know much about cheats you can use since I will never do that I would rather farm losses than cheating I fought a cheater once he was hitting me with a eye of reach while I was bellow deck repairing... If there's a way to accomplish that without cheats I don't know but seemed like cheats
@@rubensantos3489 a lot of the time i deal with cheaters they tend to appear on the back of my ship and i know 100% that i didn't hear a cannon shot and don't see people climbing my ladders and i doubt they would deck shot when the front of there ship is directly facing me, another time is seeing a guy using a sword and pistol and one tapping me with the pistol across my ship (i was full HP)
My buddy and I used to do a lot of arena before it was gone but he did it way more than I and he has the title and he's had people see the title and say something about it and it's great lmao
1:37 sounds like me. I don't keep broadsides for long cause I learned it's risky
Take enough damage them get body shot you lose. I take a few hits and if they are able to land every shot it's time to bail. I repair but instead of running I turn around.
I'm a cannon fighter, I never board so fights get dragged out
I'm so bad at pvp lol. I don't bother with boarding cause when I do I miss and when I manage to get on I die instantly cause combat sucks
Skill issue
Hey, what is the black and white filter?? I was playing one time and this other guys ship had a black and white effect with shroud music whenever i got on or near it, I'm not new but I've never seen that before.
Scared Navalers can be confused for trolls don’t confuse us we shoot fireworks in your face
honestly I just gotta respect loss farmers. they are usually super chill and the grind itslef is probably twice as long as it getting the gold curse is so the amount of patience is INSANE
I really need a crew to help me with pvp
other than still a n00b, im more of a supply gifter these days, once im done for the day, gather up all the supplies off the ship, go to an outpost and leave the supplies on the dock for the next player
Scared navallers I think has a point in doing such things, most of the time if the dude against you is better than you at cannons they can pretty much disable you from shooting those cannons, I know that, I've been in that situation many times, its either you stop them from reaching that cannon or they do that to you until one of you sunks, its like duels in wild west movies, whoever shoots first wins the day.
had a funny fight recently, i saw water at there map table.... he boarded and 1 blundered me as he lost :)
The battle-scarred tennis shoe blesses us with a new video once more, joyous day
i do it for you o7
Lets go we got a o7 reference
I love to loss farm a couple times at the end of my play session. I like how much it pisses the players off. What pisses people off even more is when you loss farm with zero supplies.
All the dice rollers i encountered were liars looking to spawn camp me out of the ring
I usually play the long game draining my opponents of all they got while striking at every opening not to kill but to drain
full cheater game
I got another one, on xbox I see dozens of looking for group posts wanting to glitch for the curse
Huh, I thought people would’ve already forgotten about the arena players by now. I guess it’s hard to forget the thorn in your side whenever you try to do stuff.
Lol, that's one way of putting it. We're not that bad. Personally I have way too much play time and unlocked every arena achievement years ago. LSD, TSD, Iron seadog whatever, but, that being said I very rarely shoot first unless I'm in hg. Then I start off by hitting your cannon line first to popcorn you off... If you're not dead I'll shoot a blunderbomb to finish the job... Couple chains, back to more holes until I see a cannonball come at me then back to shooting your cannon line and repeat lol. No need to board. Outside hg I just mind my own business until I'm "aggroed" 😂
What is tdm?
