I think this is a great overall offering. The 38mm is perfect for my 6.75in wrist. Getting the additional SS bracelet for free is a great bonus, too. Love the color combo, specs, and overall quality. Oh no, Al.... I think I'm talking myself into a potential purchase here 😅

I would like to see a version where the aluminium bezel would be replaced with a ceramic one. VAER is somewhat known for their solar watches and it would've been nice to see a thinner and lighter solar version.

Very nice watch. What I noticed about Vaer in the past, while their quartz models were reasonably priced, they Miyota powered automatics were disproportionately pricy. This one with a Seiko movement is not. One little thing, for some reason I don't like the red date wheel, I would like it to be white. It would blend in better.
When I reviewed their C5 tactical I noticed the same jump in price for the Miyota 9xxx series, from the quartz. It's good to see they've introduced a step inbetween. Thanks for watching Alex!! 👍👍

The free bracelet upgrade appears to be available only for the 38mm version of the watch and in that specific color.
The 42mm version is currently sold out. I'll email Vaer and ask them to confirm what will the bracelet situation will be once it's back in stock. This specific DS5 Pacific model is only available in one colour, there are some similar models in different colours. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Once you add duty to the watch it doesn't make it cheap considering the movement.
To be fair, Seiko would charge more but give you a mineral crystal. Just seen their new SRPK models (re-interpretation of the SNXS range), 4R36 movement hardlex...£340!!! The old ones used to be about £50!! Yes, import tax is a consideration if you live outside the USA.
The date wheel is the first thing I noticed and that wasn't a good thing. That being said. The rest of watch is nice. Good effort. Just not for me.

I was about to agree with you re price then I was minded that Creation in Singapore have a new line in their Ratio brand with a similar appearance and specs to this one, priced at £65. I'd say the Vaer was a step up but having bought Ratio in the past I can't see this being five times better. There are so many well designed micros in UK now as the recent British show demonstrated. I'm asking myself if it's worth buying from US and Europe (I'm in UK) at these prices plus import taxes. I'm sure my point equally applies to US and European buyers. Cross border buying adds expense and we all know where these affordables are made.
Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal preference and priorities. Some may prioritise supporting local or regional brands, while others might prioritise specific features or design elements offered by international options. It's all about finding the right balance between value, quality, and convenience that aligns with individual preferences and circumstances. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍

A basic movement, basic finishing and they have the nerve to ask for extra for the bracelet with a dated design clasp. 🤣🤣🤣

@@TimeForAnotherWatchIs the finishing any better than on other 300-350$ microbrand watches? For a watch with a basic Seiko movement, priced at 350$ the bracelet should be included always with any model.
