When I was in high school, finishing maths, like 3 years ago, it was a summer day and I was coming back home from my math tutor’s house, and I was wearing shorts because it was hot. And suddenly a man who I had noticed from the corner of my eye coming behind me, but not like close, started LOUDLY catcalling me, but like obnoxious stuff (I think he just repeated one word) he truly, he sounded mentally challenged, but I was so ashamed, so disgusted. It actually traumatised me. Stuff like that marks you for the rest of your life. So now I’m not capable of walking around town with shorts on. I still wear them, but only when I’m accompanied and for the beach and stuff. I feel really observed. But I guess that’s how it is. As women, we don’t have the right to feel too hot and wear lighter clothes; we should just wear the safest clothing ; we can’t risk it and be sexually assaulted.

My grandmother loved dressing me up at a young age. I remember wearing thigh high white socks (they were suppose to be knee high but grandma accidently bought a size larger) with a little summer dress when I was 8 years old and passed by a food market in China, a couple men laughed and said "little girl, you're dressed so slutty(小姑娘，穿得挺骚). When I was in high school, finishing maths, like 3 years ago, it was a summer day and I was coming back home from my math tutor’s house, and I was wearing shorts because it was hot. And suddenly a man who I had noticed from the corner of my eye coming behind me, but not like close, started LOUDLY catcalling me, but like obnoxious stuff (I think he just repeated one word) he truly, he sounded mentally challenged, but I was so ashamed, so disgusted. It actually traumatised me. Stuff like that marks you for the rest of your life. So now I’m not capable of walking around town with shorts on. I still wear them, but only when I’m accompanied and for the beach and stuff. I feel really observed. But I guess that’s how it is. As women, we don’t have the right to feel too hot and wear lighter clothes; we should just wear the safest clothing ; we can’t risk it and be sexually assaulted.

I remember when i was in 6th grade playing with chalk WEARING MY SCHOOL UNIFORM with another girl friend of mine, and a man in a truck started making sexual comments towards us. My grandmother loved dressing me up at a young age. I remember wearing thigh high white socks (they were suppose to be knee high but grandma accidently bought a size larger) with a little summer dress when I was 8 years old and passed by a food market in China, a couple men laughed and said "little girl, you're dressed so slutty(小姑娘，穿得挺骚). It took me almost a whole minute to register what they said to me cause I've never encountered or heard anyone use that phrase on me before. I went home, cried and threw away the socks immediately.
