Thanks for making such a genuinely uplifting video. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 15 years ago, and have been on pretty much everything but lithium (the Nirvana song put me off). I've only just started taking it, but feel somewhat hopeful for the first time in years. Good luck with the bungee jump. 😉 All the best.
Hi Jessy! I appreciate this video so so so much. Recently diagnosed with BP 2 after years of being diagnosed with depression and GAD. I watched this video a while back and it made me so so so much more confident about taking lithium and taking charge of my life. It has beyond helped my BP 2 and stabilizing my moods. Your videos truly make me feel less alone. If you’d ever like to chat please feel free to reach out !
Hi, I have been struggling with "depression" since I was 13, but now 12 years later after a lot of confusion I've been diagnosed with bipolar. I'm so relieved to have what feels like a correct diagnosis after this seemingly endless nightmare, I can't wait to start Lithium! Just waiting on having blood tests done so thought I'd look for some people's experiences before I start. Thanks for this great video! It was helpful, much love
I'm not bipolar but I'm going through hell because I was misprescribed Seroquel for insomnia, now I'm stuck on it, tried to get off prematurely and went through hell...your other video inspired me to try the extended release and it helped...Thank you so much for your videos, you're extremely inspirational. Watched you when I felt really alone, scared and depressed withdrawing at 3am... and it helped... just thought I'd let you know your light is touching. Love from Roselle Park, New Jersey, USA
Hello Jessy :)! I also take lithium and I can totally relate to the ways you describe it! The one thing I experience that can really be a nuisance are tremors. Anyway, great vid! Greetings from Switzerland
Just now starting lithium and was nervous. Your video made me feel so much better. You seem like a wonderful person and I hope you are doing great!! Thanks!!
Hi Jessy This is the first video of yours I’ve watched and I applaud anyone who is out there trying to help others. I’m happy you’re feeling well. I just wanted to add that your doctor should have you occasionally tested for toxic effects on your kidneys, liver, heart and glands to make sure you’re body is responding well and make sure the dosage is correct. As with most medications there are some potentially serious side effects. Staying hydrated is essential. I personally had side effects such as my hair started falling out, hand tremors and my memory was foggy at best. But we are all different as you said. I will be seeing my doctor soon and taper off the lithium and hopefully find something that helps. I’ve been doing this for 6 years now, 14 different drugs and it’s very discouraging but I’m not giving up. I find yoga, meditation and changing my perception helps. Keep up the good work and I wish you the best. Thank you
Another totally honest, informative and excellent video from jessy. It was good to hear that for her the positives are far outweighing the negatives and for me you can both hear and see the difference that extra bit of happiness brings.I'm delighted for her as she helps alot of people with her honest no bullshit yet mega informative pproach and she exposes her private medical?history for the benefit of others. Well done jessy for looking after yourself correctly too and long may any increased level of happiness you got from lithium last. it's very very much deserved and thanks again for your videos .
Jessy, I haven’t watched your videos for a while because I’ve been so busy. It’s so lovely to see you feeling a lot better!! You seem like a different person. Am so glad you’re happy
Thank you for this video, lithium has helped me feel so much better already. This video really helped me, it was nice to find someone else that was helped as well
Your ability to be quite introspective is beautiful. As you move on through your years in life, that will be a tremendous gift to yourself to help you attain what you feel is the best you. God Bless.
Thank you Jessy, perhaps you could have added the tremor side affects. But I have really appreciated your video and honesty. I have been on lithium for 4 months and really think it has made a difference. How are you doing 12 months on?
I just picked up my Rx (300mg lithium) and I appreciate finding your video so I know what to expect. I really hope it helps, and it sounds like it should. Also, it's cool ur into astrology too! I'm a ♌ Leo 🦁!
I’m been smoking pot for years now for depression and just because it helps , I been on lithium for a week now taking 3 times a day , mixed with Wellbutrin , and it makes me kind of blank, like I have no feelings ? Makes it hard to cry and have feelings , also when I smoke pot it makes me feel delusional and weird as hell !! I feel like I can’t even smoke anymore with the lithium does anyone else have this problem?
Hi Jessy, thanks for such an insightful and inspiring video! Am considering starting lithium and this video has certainly given me even more motivation to do so :)
Did you deal with a lot of nausea when you first started it? I started on 300mg and was dealing with a lot of the sick feeling. I'm supposed to go on the extended release in hopes I have less issues with it. I'm very Treatment resistant, and hoping this works like it did for you.
100% this... i'm so far past saving. Admitting myself to the hospital this Sunday to get on medication and to get a therapist. My life is so far past fugged up, wish me luck
Sending you a big hug ❤❤❤ you are an inspiration to many people my cousin got buried last week in Cardiff after taking he's own life in Turkey.. I have got anxiety since last yeAr I am generally normal but it's a horrible feeling I have not been to the doctors or told my family..but I have not though of suicide ever its not what I would do..
Hello Jessy! I will be very thankful for your answer if you tell me how much mg of lithium do you take a day? and what was the dosage you started. I am just worried that i got a very high dosage by my doctor.
Ah😃😃 you're a Gemini too😀😀😀 I feel like all geminis have bipolar 🤣🤣 oh my word and thanks for clearing up the words thing, I honestly thought I was developing alzheimer's 😱😱😱
Psychiatrist wants to put my son on Lithium for his auditory hallucinations. Psychiatrist says some of her patients stopped hearing voices on Lithium. Anyone know this?
It's used as a mood stabilizer for bipolar disorder.. For depression u will need an anti depressant..consult your psychiatrist before everything.. Don't worry.. You will get better!
I take 900mg lithium for depression but as an adjunct to other medications. It is more commonly used in bipolar. It was helpful for me but in conjunction with other meds. I think it depends on what type of depression you have as well. Mine is melancholic or biological so medication is the first line of treatment. If you have atypical or a personality issue then therapy might help with some of your thought processes.
Hi great vid, just want to say lithium saved my life it stopped me being manic and rapid cycling so much and I've managed to hold down a full time job for the last year, also you might get your kidneys and liver tested for lithium toxicity.
Yeah it does make you have a dry mouth but not major! its up to you if you make that choice or not, you need to discuss all your best options with your doctor before you start any form of medication. Lithium is effective but comes at a cost with risks and interactions with other meds
Im not completely stable, ive been taking lithium i dont have bpd, i understand its a mood disorder , i still feel up and down. I deal w depression, i have suicidal thoughts, im not suicidal weard ik ,i think about cutting, am i considered unstable lol
I want to get to a point where I'm here because I want to be here, not because of the suffering my suicide would cause my loved ones!

Hello beautiful ! Have you ever noticed any hair loss or thinning while taking these meds?
If you get hair loss from your meds it's more likely to be due to an overactive thyroid from the drug which can be easily corrected with levothyroxine
How do you manage sleep? I think lithium doesn’t help it. Do you take anything else besides lithium?
Try Mediation CBD oil? Sereoquil if those don't work.x
This new drug is my last resort I’ve been so stuck
Do u get delusions
I do can see in your eyes that your on something. Not high. Just a bit out of it. Very little. Not tryna be mean.
try cannabis
Yup been on it for few years
