Hi Kelvin, Thanks for the video. So does it mean I need to open two sub accounts for HKD and USD if I want to trade in both HK stock and US stock?
Yea, that would be best
Hi Kelvin, you mentioned that making the base currency as USD is better as it only incurs a 1 time transfer fee when you fund the account. How about when you withdraw the USD from the account? Will it incur another currency cost
When withdrawing USD to a SGD account, i don't believe there's a conversion. But i'm not 100% sure, because can't find any info regarding this. Best to contact them to check.

Thx for the info. One questn, is there any time limit. Like option stock, u need to put expiring date. Saxo will autoclosed the position when the date reach.
For options, as long as it passes the expiry date, it will expire worthless isn't it?
Hey Kelvin! Great video. By chance, in the next video about other brokers' platform. Would you be able to include the following query? What happens to our stocks in custodians such as SCB online trading/SAXO/Tiger Brokers, should we passed on abruptly etc. death?
Great suggestion! But i'll quickly mention here. In Interactive Brokers you can create joint accounts, where if a person dies, the other will take over the stocks. In other cases, if the deceased doesn't have a will it will be handled through a process.

@@MrAprilius
For SC, you can just contact them to request for transfer. There'll be fees, eg SG listed shares is SGD10, oversea shares is free

@@KelvinLearnsInvesting Thanks for this! I guess I will have to migrate over to SC. SAXO is not worth it. New suggestion: Dilemma: How to leave a brokerage to another? Things to consider.
Lol true , good video bro
Great tutorial Kelvin! I opened my saxo account 5 months ago in USD and I didn't know of the per trading conversion fees and also the inactivity fees of USD $100! Saxo's support is not really great. If it's for long term holding of stocks, which broker would be the best considering all the commissions and other fees?
Hi, there's no inactivity fees for sg accounts, so no worries. For long term, personally i believe interactive brokers is the cheapest overall
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting I am investing in US stocks so it's good to know I won't be charged conversion fees per trade as I have funded in USD instead of SGD. Oh not Tiger broker?
Tiger brokers is fine if you dont need to access london stock exchange :)
Hi Kelvin! Is this Saxo trade website limited for any country?
I am from INDIA! Present living in India, can I have an account and begin to trade?
Thank you Kelvin for the video. It's very insightful and helpful! But I have a question (Hope you could answer XD). I'm about to go to Japan for further study (soon) and I wonder if I could keep on using saxo bank as my brokerage and buying US stocks and ETFs when I'm in japan by using the Japanese Yen.
Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere??
Hi! I’d like to trade mainly in USD. So firstly what i have to do is to change base currency to USD, then deposit from my POSB account?
Yup, that's the cheaper way
Thanks Kelvin for your clear explanations. What is Saxo’s custodian fee? My currency base is USD, if I buy UK stock, does it mean there will be two currency conversions, SGD to USD to Pound? Or I can open a separate sub account in Pound to avoid double conversions? Thank you for your advice.
Custody fee is 0.12%
www.home.saxo/en-sg/rates-and-conditions/commissions-charges-and-margin-schedule
I believe there will be 3 conversion. So its better to open another account in pound currency
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting Saxo is a scam to All Africans
Apart from interactive broker, does any of the other brokerage do fractional shares? And if so, which do you recommend?
I don't think other brokerages in Singapore offer fractional shares :(
Hi Kelvin. I’m in UK and just opened a Saxo account on my phone. I am interested in buying US OTC stocks. I know I will have to pay for each purchase/sale but will I have to pay a monthly fee for holding stocks with my Saxo account?
Hi Kelvin! I just wanted to check, will it be worth If I will set like a 300-500sgd money to buy US stocks in SAXO? Or that small amount will only eat up by tax and other fees? Thanks in advance, and your videos is really very helpful to us beginners!
Saxo's minimum is $4 per purchase. The rest are in percent so it doesn't really matter. So it depends if you are ok with that $4 every time you buy

Did you notice that with Saxo you have to pay extra get prices that aren't delayed (e.g. by 15 minutes). To me this sounds really strange and a bit shocking. In my case I am doing very long term holds, so it probably doesn't matter. I guess you have to pay extra to be a "scalper"?
Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere?
would like to know
1) as u mentioned if inactivity of the account a certain period will be charged of account fee.
but I don't deposit $ or withdraw all the funds will still get charged ?
2) any surcharges by using credit card to trade beside the 0.75%?
sorry to check as I'm a novice in this. currently I just started using Poems to trade some SGX stock. had open Saxo account but didn't trade any so will i get charge from Saxo if inactive for 180days?
and thank you for your time
My bad, there's no inactivity fee for singapore saxo. I think there's only 0.75% surcharge
Hey Kelvin, I have a question. From my understanding, saxo has a 15min delay in prices. I do not wish to subscribe to live prices. Does this mean that I will be filled 15min later than the actual market price? Can you please help to explain more on this. Thank you.
You will be filled immediately, but the fill price is at 15 minute later's price
Oh. How about when using limit buy orders, how will this work?
Lets say:
Actual current market price at this moment:$1
Saxo market 15min delay price: $1.2
Limit buy order price: $1
Does this mean that I will not be filled at the current moment and will be only filled 15minutes later? If so, won't I be able to know the prices in advance from Yahoo Finance and be able to decide whether I want to buy or not using Saxo?

Hi Kelvin
Are you doing Trading option with saxo ...?
Thanks
Unfortunately no, I don't know how to trade options :(
Hi Kelvin - how do you manage the purchase of different ETFs with different currencies e.g. GBP and USD? Would you have to specifically direct your funds to BOTH the USD and GBP accounts separately?
For saxo will need to do that to save on conversion fee. I'm using ibkr which allows multiple currency per account so don't really have this issue
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting thanks for prompt response kelvin. Does this mean we need to manage USD, HKD and GBP currency accounts if we want to trade ETFs that only sell in those currencies? This seems quite disturbing...
Kelvin, is it wise to use SAXO to buy other country stocks such as Singapore?
I feel saxo fees are expensive, i would prefer cheaper options like tiger or interactive brokers
Hi Kelvin, I don't understand on the conversion part. Even if we set our based currency as USD, when we transferred SGD to the SAXO account which is in USD, it will still do a currency conversion based on the currency conversion rate right?
Yup u are right, the difference is how many times are u converting.
If base currency is USD: convert when funding, convert when withdrawing
If base currency is SGD: convert when buying, convert when selling (every. single. trade.)
